Tia started reselling sneakers and clothes she bought in thrift stores for some extra cash in college. She quickly realized the high demand and profit potential and started growing the business, first with a Shopify store and then into their first brick-and-mortar. Now they have a team to help run their stores. We’ll find out how they built that team and how Tia and Anastasia’s role in the business has changed as it’s grown.
Starting a business? Use elevate.store to save up to $1600 - www.elevate.store/upflip/1
The key to this growth is also the industry’s biggest challenge: buying sneakers can be expensive. Tia and Anastasia explain how they keep inventory costs low so they can make up to 30% margins on each sale. You’ll also hear the key skills to open a sneaker reselling business and how those have helped Sneak City grow so quickly, along with some tips for how to get started if you don’t have a lot of cash on hand.
Once you have shoes to resell, the next step is getting them to buyers. We’ll learn how Sneak City uses its 100,000 CZcams subscribers and other social media platforms to attract and engage with customers. It also helps to have a brick-and-mortar with lots of foot traffic, and you’ll hear how that influenced where they opened their second location and the value of a physical space for a reselling business.

Yes! Sneak City is the best, they are one of the best. Their growth across the years has always motivated me and inspired me.
I love seeing this.super inspiring, I need to start selling stuff on eBay again I was selling for a few months n sold some stuff but this really inspired me to re start selling again on eBay. I’m a big sneakerhead & really just clothing/fashion in general. Love watching your channel with all these different avenues to start ur own business
We're glad to know that you found this inspiring! Best of luck to you in your eBay selling journey @Entrepreneur Eric!
Great episode! It's truly inspiring and a testament to the fact that you don't need a large budget to get started. In fact, you can start with as little as $50. This goes to show that with determination, hard work, and a bit of creativity, anything is possible.
Couldn't agree more, Serge! Sometimes, you just need an idea and then act on it. Plenty of ways you can get started! 👊
from where they buy shoes with 5 dollars ?
You forget one thing, knowledge. Seeing how successful these girls are, I'm sure they know the market very well. If not, no matter how determined or hard-working they are, they still wouldn't make it.

great show and big ups to the two ladies
Really enjoyed this video! Nice job!
I found this channel 2 days ago and watched almost all there videos😂 Keep it up UpFlip❤️

@@BogdanPredkoNow thats a real question 😂

This was the inspiration I needed to start my own shoe business. Thanks!

How's it going ? The shoe market seems dead
Love these ladies and their channel!
Glad you love this video! Were you one of their OG subscribers too? Thanks for watching! ☺️
You guys are living my dream! I'm at my first 100 pairs right now. It's so hard to post some of the shoes i like a lot! You guys are legends in my eyes! I got the streetwear as well as bape and old evisu. Pretty much my last 10 year collection..lol. man this is awesome! Thanks for this video.
Go for it! Let us know how it turns out okay? ☺️
How/where did you start buying your first pairs of shoes?
This sparked my motivation for selling again, Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!
AWESOME!! What's your first step going to be?
well one of the most effective ways to engage, and boost your sales is creating website and an app to brand your business and am an expert I can help you with this services
I love their business they’re actually great peeps
@shysalmon4471 We loved interviewing them! Have you been in their shop?
Love this video !!
Amazing presentation well done. I appreciated, And good luck.🤞
Thank you! You too! ☺
Just found your channel and subscribed. Great info
Awesome, thank you! Thank you for subscribing to our channel! ❤
There's a lot of routes you can take from sneaker reselling, local meet ups, shipping online, bulk selling, consignment etc... Its my 3rd year reselling, and been doing it full time for the past 2 years
How much do you make a year?
That's awesome! Do you have any tips you can share with the community? How do you make it work out there?
Where do you find suppliers?
You will still eventually be forced to get a real job. I know at least 5 resellers who are frustrated with 10-40 grand of inventory. They had a few good years but just like with any small business, the challenge is sustaining the business year after year. Most of them now treat reselling as a way to make supplemental income.
@@boomboominroom they back door get the sneakers first before released to the public
Bro I was waiting days for this video
I enjoyed your video very informative information
Thank you for watching and engaging with the content! ☺️
First time watcher... Very informative... Loved all the questions you asked. Very detailed. Going to my first Sneaker Con on a few days. So, great advice to take when heading there in Illinois. Selling the 20+ year collection. Continue to strive for greatness!

Love them both, their videos are so raw and clean, more power to them.
Thanks @stormshadow2012 ! Was there a particular part of the video that stood out to you?

Have done business with Tia on Facebook sneaker groups. Have always been good business!
That's cool! What's your favorite sneakers?
these videos are like everyone else never tell how to start, but what they doing in their business
Thanks for your comment @lookup2705 ! We can only include so much info in a short video like this, but we do have complete courses where you can learn all these details! Check it out: www.upflip.com/courses
seeing the charts above with the sizes is really nice, save me the trouble of asking "do u have my size?". This should be in every store
Completely agree!
They are killin the sneaker game
For sure! Thank you for taking the time to watch! ☺️
i love this channel
Thanks for watching and supporting our channel! ☺️
I would love to do something like that down here in Costa Rica.❤ Because I love sneakers and the problem down here that there selling copies ( fake ) sneakers.
This is amazing
Hey so I just started selling sneakers on amzn but very often 1 UPC contains many different sneaker sizes and I am unable to find a UPC that has ONLY my particular size... How can I add each size individually?
The trainers collectors market is still in its infancy even though it's only a couple of decades old.
Thank you for video.
Did you enjoy the video? Thanks for watching! ☺️
Love Sneak City!
Us too! Were you a customer or a seller? ☺️
Feels great knowing that my donations to goodwill, etc is making millionaires out there!
I have a Nike Outlet rather close to me but it all depends on the inventory avail that determines my success. I'd have to source other wholesalers. A friend orders from China and tells me they are essentially seconds, not fake but ones that may have small imperfections.
Great video!
Thank you for taking the time to watch! ☺️
I was at the alderwood mall right before they opened!!😭
Were you able to visit their store? Thanks for watching! ☺️
6:26 loving the mini travis
That's true ☺️
so where do u buy shoes to resell?
I’m going to start my own sneaker resell shop after seeing this video.
Go for it! 💪🏼 Are you a sneaker enthusiast?
@@UpFlip yes
Well one of the most effective ways to engage and boost your sales is to create a website or maybe an app to brand your buisness which I can provide for you as am expert in website design and development
I do have a question. Are you supposed to put shrink wrap or and kind of protection for sneakers on display? I mean people touch them everyday and these are "limited/expensive" stuff, does dirt or stain matter? Thanks
Yes, many stores do that.
What software are you using
"we took a risk." That is the magic statement, you'll never know if you don't. Sneaker reselling is a huge business and it does not care about gender, race, background ect and that's what makes in interesting. There is only one absolute rule, DO NOT sell fakes.
Well said! Thank you for watching and engaging with the content! ☺️
No surprise!!! great episode as always...
Can anyone help with where we can get new shoes/clothes for reselling?
Happy you liked it! There are different places, like outlets, ebay or poshmark or just waiting out on store sales!
You can do anything , if its your passion ❤
Passion, determination and grit will surely take you places! What are you passionate about?
WE love sneak city !
Louder! 👊
Wrap the shoes in a plastic the oils from people’s hands will dirty them dust as well you’ll notice it when you bring out the box and one shoe looks darker than the other
You guys know what I’d need as far as licensing for towing I wanted to start a roadside service but also with a trailer to tow if I have to
Best to consult with your local business lawyers so they can walk you through the processes and the requirements needed. It varies per state. Hope this helps! ☺️
well one of the most effective ways to engage, and boost your sales is creating website and an app to brand your business and am an expert I can help you with this services and then you can go for marketing in social media platforms or do SEO if you have a site to further expand your business and if you don't have a site try creating one it really improves buisnes
Best to start working with a good established towing company. Mistakes can cost you more than $$$
17:42 the parking skills hahaha
😅
I am really interested in the business of speakers selling. I live in Canada (A cold country, 🥶🥶), and I would like to know the process to purchase them. 😊
Good stuff!
Did you learn a lot from this video? What are your takeaways? ☺️
@@UpFlip honestly, the coolest thing to me was that they just opened a store at Alderwood Mall as that's in my local area and I love seeing local entrepreneurs do well!
Got a pair of the Luck Greens recently from Finish Line and the glue smell was very high,so these days smell don't mean anything.
Thanks for sharing! That's why they do a couple tests. Smell's just one of them. Thanks for watching! ☺️
Amazing episode!! But when they buy the sneakers in eBay how’d know if is it real or fake ?
I guess they buy them and sniff them all night🤣🤣 and in the morning they decide if they keep them or rteturn them
Brilliant…
Anyone knows where to buy sneakers in bulk for flipping? Any recommendation for reliable auctions or big wholesalers?
even if someone knows nobody will tell you dude have some common sense.
They say that the biggest problem in the industry is fakse, which is acurate, but the resellers complaining about there being sonmany reps, are the exact reason why they exist, resellers are selling shoes at a ridiculously high price, to the point that people perfer to buy reps than to go broke buying a single pair, i see reseller nowadays still sell panda dunk lows for $500 when they retail for $120 and are constantly being restocked, i say the biggest problem in the industry are the resellers
🙌
That is really interesting
Are you a sneakerhead too? Thanks for watching! ☺️
I’m a start going to the outlet myself. And start racking up on some shoes.
That's great! Did you learn a lot from this video?
@@UpFlip Yes! I was starting to do resale with video games, but I had a set back. I'm about to bounce back soon as I get back on my own.
A massively volatile market. The sneaker market has been on a huge rise over the past 10 years. Issue is, look at all of the shoes they are flipping. 90% look like they are Nike dunks /Jordan’s, Yeezy is dead, NB are all the same shade of grey with a different code. The reason for the volatility is that, people move on, they will move onto something totally different. End of the day it’s fashion, it’s always evolving.
I notice they have one shoe of the pair and not both shoes on the shelf. Smart. No smash & grab.
i just went to alderwood mall last week
Cool!
idk why but for some reason I noticed that since the prices have gone down for whatever reason I have been seeing so many more sneaker store popping up and buying inventory unique
@buttifn9328 That is a really interesting observation. Any theories as to why that might be happening?
More stores equal more shoes of the same. Hence the prices going down, every sneaker head has the shoes already or can acquire it easily now
Where do they buy the shoes to sell
Pls what’s the name of the torch light she uses to observe the thread lines … are they normal torches ?
They're using a blacklight! ☺️
Great questions
Which one did you like best? Thanks for watching! ☺️
@@UpFlip If you're just getting started, what's the best way to enter the industry?
very inspring, im about to go and lowball a bunch of people on ebay now for their shoes
Let's focus on inspiring and positive ways to achieve our goals. Thank you for watching!
@@UpFlip ill pass 🙌
Looked at their website. It looks awesome other than there is no indication whether the shoes have been used or not.
Have you tried purchasing from their website?
@@UpFlip when you look around at them all of them just say the shoe name when they are clearly used
I THINK THEY STARTED OUT RESELLING BUT NOW THEY CAN AFFORD TO BUY IT NEW
Awesome Video
Interesting that they chose to be in a mall...I hear so many stories of malls dying/closing...but it looks like that location does get decent foot traffic.

Yeah, get your own money so you don't need to take no for an answer 😅
That would be great to know how they are dealing with people touching the shoes and make them dirty with their hands.
Also when people wants to try them on.
They're very meticulous. Thanks for watching! ☺️
Yeah, I’ve worked in a shoe store and people make shoes so dirty just from repeated handling.
Lets go 💪
Hi-yaaah!
How do u females buy shoes cheap?? Can u teach me please 😢 I'm from Belize and really want to learn and buy
Big motivation
Thank you @OnMyWatch!
I got the jurassic park reebok insta pumps, I bought them for 100 they're now reselling for triple that lol but I'd rather wear them
Awesome kicks! Sometimes, we just gotta enjoy the drip instead of the profits. 👊
I feel like all shoe reseller or sneaker heads have the same personality
How are they still selling shoes for $200-$300 when the shoes are like brand new … they couldn’t have bought the shoes for market price.. I got the capital but where do you go to get the shoes in bulk ?
What's the best way to find authentic bulk supplier's for just getting started business?
They aren’t going to spill the secret sources lol
Just checked out their website. They charged some steep prices.
Upflip what’s the episode were a cleaning business paid some one one to set up their site again and market them for 4k
Hmm, we do have a lot of episodes. Not sure which one you're talking about? Anyway, thank you for taking the time to watch! ☺️

350k a month but how much is actual profit? 20k?
Ok where do they get the sneakers to resell them ? Thats the important question
Did you watch the whole video to find out where they get their sneakers from? You won’t believe where they shop. 😎
