When I fixed my leak on mine I pulled that battery tray wire wheeled the piss outta it, sprayed some rust encapsulator on it, let it dry and gave it a thick spray with Engine paint same color as truck in my case Victory red as the factory paint job is so thin on them they normally rust through. As for my leak it was in the bottle itself, I used a soldering iron to weld the hole worked very good and has not leaked since. I was lucky not to have to replace the pump. 2003 Silverado
So Matt I ordered the Auxbeam HIgh Beam and Low Beam LED's from Amazon using the AUXBEAM site as a confirming source for the correct lights for my 03' Z71 Tahoe. The High Beam LED's went in just fine. I then went to put the Low Beams in and didn't have the clearance with the adjuster bracket on, so I removed the passenger side one first. Went to put the Low Beam in and found the diameter where the O-ring rests is too large on the LED body. It doesn't fit. Double and triple checked that we had ordered the right 9006 LED on AUXBEAM's site and Amazon (since it has BUY ON AMAZON button). Everything looks good. They sent the wrong lights. It would have been a ten minute swap in the house since I'm in NC and it is hot and humid as shit today. I had thought of doing the LED headlights since all the rest of my exterior lights are LED. When I saw you had done it, that caused me to pull the trigger since it isn't exactly cheap. 30 something for the high beams and 61 with change for the low beams.
UPDATE: The lights were correct, however the O-rings were too large in diameter. I was sitting here looking at the damn things and something told me to get out the micrometer and measure the new vs the old. Sure enough new were larger. So I swapped the O-rings and ta-da, they went in. They are a little loose, but I'll get an assorted o-ring set in the morning. Still have the OEM headlight housings with over 275,000 on them. Cleaned them up some and they sure are bright, will adjust them tomorrow night.
What’s the difference from all the LED options they list ? Which is the right fit and best?
My truck is way too tall for LEDs, even if aimed down. So I stick to the halogens to not blind people.
Thank you
“Like” if you would like to see Matt put an after-market exhaust on the Tahiti!
I did the "quietest" flowmaster catback on mine and its still louder than what I really wanted...mainly the drone at 2200 RPM, I have added resonators which did clean up the sound, but it still drones really bad, so I'm playing with a J-pipe right now to specifically target the drone. The exhaust stuff is quite a rabbit hole if you have a really specific sound goal you want to hit. I wanted something that sounded "tastefully spiced up", but remained comfortable for road trips and highway cruising. I nearly have the sound I want after adding mini resonators and a resonated exhaust tip, but the stupid drone at highway speeds is driving me insane and I don't have the J-pipe tuned properly to cancel out the drone yet. Part of the problem is my tahoe has a 4.10 rear end which means it revs higher at highway cruising, if I had a 3.7x rear end it would probably keep my cruise rpm out of the "drone zone".
Love the tahoe videos man🔥🔥
Don't stop the Tahoe video
Fleece Performance makes a "chip" that you install into the fusebox that allows the fogs/lows/high beams to stay on at once. Not sure if you're away. $20, installs under the relays. Not sure if your fusebox has the right layout or not. But I did it in my Silverado and it was well worth the money.
I have the same year Tahoe Lt. model and I use brighter halogens with original housing and I find no problem with light out put . Love the videos and you inspired me to get 2016 oem honeycomb wheels from gmc truck and put bow tie centres. With 275/65r18 and they are awesome.
Thanks for taking the time to film all this stuff. It really helps us "adequate," wrench turners trust ourselves to do routine maintenance and not screw up our vehicles. I really appreciate your skills.
Trucks looking good, looking forward to the TA videos - Thanks.
I literally just bought some for my Yukon XL last night from auxbeam 🤣👍🏾 ALSO, I installed LED switchbacks (white to amber) turn signals on the front side. Had a problem with hyperflash even though my 3157s have built in resistors. Gonna add this LM487 Flasher relay that works with LEDs and it should stop my hyperflash
Thank you. Everything you do to you Tahoe, I do to my Avalanche. Except the auxbeams... I ordered auxbeams, but the didn't fit with the clearance behind my headlight assemblies. So I went with a different company. All the same brightness and color for the headlights, high beams, and fog lights. 6500 lumens.
I have the auxbeam thin series leds in my Denali projector housings and I couldn't be happier. You may even have the 160 amp alternator in your tahoe. My 06 Yukon came stock with the 160 amp.
I got some auxbeam F-16 series for my Trailblazer. They are ridiculously bright and a brilliant white color. Best lights ever. I'll definitely get auxbeam from now on
Love the Tahoe vids dood! Do you think you will ever try converting to an E-Fan instead of the clutch fan?
yup, I have Auxbeam H11 highs in my allure right now and I love em. Still gotta get the lows done but they're a pain in the ass to do in this car.
hey thank you for teaching me how to fix my washer fluid reservoir
Something I’ve learned thru the years is I buy a few 6203RS bearings (their pretty cheap) & just replace the bearings in the idlers & tensioners & it saves a lot of $ vs buying the idler or tensioner assembly. That 6203RS is pretty much a universal bearing over Chevy Ford doge etc.. even my Hayward pool pump motor uses them. If you want even longer life you can pull back the rubber seal & add a bit more grease as they have very little in them new. Keep up the good work!
the original belts on my 05 tahoe are cracked like that and I ended up with a bad dry bearing noise after de-greasing and hot pressure washing my engine bay last month. I need to replace them ASAP and find the loud bearing before I end up on the side of the highway broke down because of something stupid like a broken belt. I really enjoy your videos because I have a silver birch tahoe that looks nearly identical to tahiti and watching your videos has motivated me to do a bunch of subtle cosmetic upgrades and paint repair. Mechanically speaking (minus my rotten belts) mine is pristine, but I always procrastinate with the detailing. I recently did a whole new flowmaster exhaust and long tube headers because I had 2 broken exhaust manifold bolts, I added a flex fuel sensor and starting doing some tuning. I'll tell you what though, I did nothing to the tune to add HP, but I did a ton of tuning on the transmission and it firmed up the shifts and reduced the hesitation to downshift when I got on the throttle. I wanted to do some horsepower mods beyond long tube headers and flex fuel, but after seeing how much improvement was had just from transmission tuning, I almost feel like I accomplished the "spiced up feel" that I was going for. I have also run "lube guard Automatic Transmission Fluid Protectant" for 50K miles so far and my transmission still feels great at 125K, it was recommended by a transmission builder that rebuilt the 4l60e in my friend's tahoe. I'm pretty skeptical of additives and the only ones I use are seafoam, marvel mystery oil and lube guard atf protectant. I used seafoam in the crankcase for 50 miles, changed the oil and added a pint of MMO as soon as my lifters started ticking and the tick is totally gone, since then I have switched to synthetic oil and no longer use MMO.
What a coincidence! I just did my belts and pulleys, and tensioners last week on my 03 z71. I had an issue with the belt, i got the belt for a 145a alt but still was short by 2 inches.
I should upgrade mine as well. Thanks for sharing.👍👍
Nice leds. Those fog bulbs have bigger housings because they have built in cooling fans. You should look into "Fleece". They have a plate with built in diodes that is strictly plug n play. Allows you to keep the fogs and lows on when you turn your high beams on. Just got mine 😁!
Just did Auxbeam LEDs low and highs with new housings on my 2015 Caddilac SRX a d they are incredible. The SRX has OEM headlight issues that made mine dangerous to drive at night. and now it has better night visibility than my brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee.
I have installed cheap $25 projectors from ebay into a set of aftermarket 6x7 sealed beam headlights with HID for my 86 squarebody army truck. Projectors is the way to go! Squarebody looks like an Audi from afar. Hehe
The last pulley that you replaced, the old one sounded like a food processor. It's definitely a good thing you replaced it. 🤣😎👍
The anti-flicker harness can also fix some vehicle electrical systems that weren't designed for LEDs. I installed some of those 7" round LED headlights in a 1980 vehicle, and the lights wouldn't come on when I turned on the headlights. Installing the anti-flicker harness fixed the issue. Acted like a resistor which tricks the system into thinking an old halogen is plugged in.
You should grab the little chip to put in the fuse box to run the low beam high beam and fog lights when you turn your high beams on I got it and I love it
Man that tahoes clean..love the vids gd work!
Great upgrade!
Love the Tahoe content. By the way nearly every SUV has the bigger alternator and uses the belt they say they never sell as many of... If you have much more than the base level electrical goodies you probably have it. Easiest way to tell is the RPO codes in the glove box and then no guessing. I have several GM's so I have a screenshot of the RPO codes saved in a folder on my phone for each so I can always know which parts I need...
Good idea !
I have the codes on my phone also. I looked up mine, not knowing, and I have the 160amp alternator. Glad I looked.
Changing belts is the main reason I bought an ‘05. Would have loved to find a ‘06. Dual electric fans and an Airaid MIT intake tube frees up sooooo much space up front.
Huh.....I didn't even think about getting the AC belt that way. when I did mine I just did it from the top and it looked as bad as your main belt did, I also thought it was the original belt to the truck but I didn't check part numbers to see if it was GM and luckily I didn't have to replace the AC tensioner, I did however need to replace the main tensioner when I replaced that belt though. Fun trucks to work on
Did this upgrade to my tahoe a few years ago and auxbeam is a great product
The auxbeams are still holding up after a couple years of use?
johnny missfire
Yessir
3 years now
hids are the best for projector housings and leds are your best choice for a reflector type housing
Depends on the housings, some you will get glare running LEDs in a halogen housing.
I did this with my 01 suburban, i dont have a crisp line but i didnt have one with halogens ether
2 pin headlight connector should be industry standard, not like some manufacturers that seem to build the front grill around the headlights making it a major chore to replace a few light bulbs 🤦♂️. Keep up the great content!
I had to replace the tension pulley bearing went out and broke the belt off replaced it and found the old belt up in the lip of the front bumper a two years later lol.
Is the RPO code list still on the in side of theglove box door? Write down your codes and look them up and these will help you to know what equipment your truck had. Alternator should start with a KW on these trucks.
Good job loving your videos my Yukon is needing some minor things don’t know if I wanna put more money into it with 203000 miles in runs good no check engine light but interior in outside looks bad what’s your thoughts
like the Tahoe vids i have a suburban did the quad headlight mod it real bright at night
3:00 thank you..... damit!!!!!!
I believe if you add an additional ground from the low beam headlight harness to the chassis/frame/battery, the low beams will stay on with the high beams if you don't want to use the Fleece chip.
03 up that doesn't work.
Man I gotta get me those same wheels for mine . perfect style and fit
I have some on my 99 Suburban and they look really nice.
@@spareparts7630 yes.ut a set on my 04 crew cab..marketplace $300...off a 18 Silverado..also pick up the one piece lug nuts on Amazon ($30). Look stock and wont separate like factory gm 2 piece crap..
One final mod you need to do is like what I did with my 03 Tahoe is use the Escalade rear quarter vents. Black obviously lol
Where did you find those?
@@leomendoza9897 A guy was parting out a 05 Escalade ESV
Love your content! How much iced coffee do you drink every day??? I have a 2014 Yukon and almost sold the thing because the stock bulbs were SO dim! As a last ditch effort, I replaced them with LEDs. Yeah, I was told all the same stuff about how they're no good and don't focus. Not sure who has been spreading that rumor, but it's really not true. Definitely, you have to aim the LED orientation correctly. Also, with the newer GMs, you do need the anit-flicker. They will flicker on the driving light function; but not the low beam. BTW, the 07-14 Yukons have only one bulb for hi-lo, so there's that...

Does The Lights work on a 2008 GMC Envoy
Is the top radiator hose getting a rub mark through it from the hood? If so I would replace it asap so it doesn't burst and cut an old piece of hose to zip tie it to that same spot to prevent anymore rubbing through the new hose.
Nice video I enjoy all your videos , can u do engine cleaning in Tahoe?👍
exactly which led model do you use in the fog lights? I found the same problem that not any led bulb enters the base of the fog light, thanks!
Hey Matt did they ever get the low beam available
You should look into the hi low fog mod. Iv don't it on my last 2 trucks and the lows and fogs stay on when you turn on the highs. I love it
Its coming soon!
@@lsXmatt its a great mod. My Colorado has hids with projectors in highs and lows and its amazing
If you want even more light check out the 4 hi mod.
Just got my 6 hi mod from Fleece.
LSXMatt where did you get the Rims from and what Size are the Rims?
Did you have any interference with your radio? Like not picking up stations or buzzing?
Alt should be stamped w amp rating.i always change tensioner and idler every 100,000..cheap insurance.
Waiting patiently on the tune video for the Camaro. I dying to see what kind of numbers it makes!
I have the appointment set for the 27th. I’m doing some upgrades so a video will be out on that first.
Where can I get the headlights you have ? Will they fit a 05
Could you pull the foglights out and insert the bulb then put the whole thing back in and run the wire out?
Them led foglight bulbs will fit i have same in my tahoe fit fine
To make the fog lights work you just have to dremel the hole in the valance.
If u can I'm looking for the rear cargo cover it mounts inside by the back seats
Do you have a burb or Tahoe?
How were those tires in the snow
Couldn't you install the Yukon Denali projector headlights? Or is there more involved in that
Nah the Yukon grill is a different shape.
Whats the difference between the T1 and S2 lights?
I just came here to say that my 2005 Tahoe looks sexy as hell because of you sir 💪🏾💪🏾
Im sure it does, thanks!
You should try the “all lights on” mod!
Got that on my 05 Sierra and does wonders for my late night winter driving in Canada!
1 Wear mark on the upper radiator hose?
2 Good time to clean the throttle body.?
Also bottom Alternator bolt looks loose
Can you do more tahoe video’s 😁
Hello Matt left light keeps.popping out.is their a bar that goes thru the headligh to snug it in place on my 2002 tahe. Love your videos
Yea there should be 2 metal pins on each side of the light
@@lsXmatt thank you brother keep the videos coming.
Love the Tahoe video. What that thing on the end of air box, it's red and white? flex seal that hose
I think you are talking about the red black and yellow thing sticking out from the airbox which is the air filter restriction gauge (supposed to tell you when to change the air filter, but they don't work that great).
@@nabob14yes that I was talking about
Google Tahoe 4 hi mod. I did it to my 01 Silverado and what a difference it makes. It's a simple one wire ground that keeps the low beams on when the high beams are switched on.
Will that put wxtra stress on your wires, alternator, ect? Just curious because it feels soo much brighter with both on
@@jonjohnson102 I upgraded to the larger amperage alternator because it's a bolt in but i had the mod done prior to that with no problems.
wear place in the upper hose ?
get a 6 high mod. I have it for my yukon denali and I use projectors so it isn't blinding.
Ngl projectors are ugly
Are you going to change your turn signal/running lights with LED bulbs?
Did you paint your grill?
Love your vids, man, but when this become a comedy show? Lol
Good shit you should do my Jeep next haha
The headlights in the description would fit my 02 Yukon Denali right??
Are you talking about the lenses(no) or the bulbs(yes)?
I need a honest opinion LED or HID? I have factory projectors on my 14 Silverado
LED all the way. Less draw and last way longer. LEDs are amazing with projectors.
Anyone know what housings he has?
Gooooooood ♥️♥️♥️♥️💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
How'd you get so good at working on cars?
Quick question. So I got a 2004 songle cab sierra 4.8.
I changed alternator. Not Delphi. Around that time I notine my voltage dont stay at 14. You ever deal with voltage problems?
Voltage doesn’t always reach 14. Anything over 13 is technically charging ok.
@@lsXmatt sometimes while I leí g it gets lower 11 or so. Thank you.
You should have put the electric fans on it would have made the belt change easier lol
105 amp is shorter belt
130 amp is the longer belt
i just changed mine a couple months ago
I bet the washer bottle itself leaks too 😅
"More Gooder". Now I'm curious... does my '01 Tahoe have two belts? Yer gonna make me wander out and open the hood?
BTW... when the watch springs for the hood start making their ugly noises, spray some white lithium grease on them from the outboard side. Quiet hood makes daddy happy.
Guarantee it does..ac belt and tensioner.
so, what the lower housing for? Why haven't you changed out these halogens with LED's?
Lowers are just the turn signals.
LsxMatt really? Never seen such a big housing for turn signals
Waiting for the electric fan conversion video
Hell yeah, me too! Gonna do this to my 03.
And 6:24 .........damn lol
Fleece performance makes an adapter that goes under all of your light relays in the fuse box that keeps all 6 lights on when you click your brights on instead of killing the lows and fogs- fleeceperformance.com/gm-all-lights-on-module.html
So no more Tahoe videos planned? :(
I have big plans for the tahoe, but first I need the Camaro tied up a few things done to the trans am. Don’t worry, it will come, and it will be worth the wait!
@@lsXmatt Awesome! Looking forward to it! It's because of you and these videos that I finally decided to show some love to my Tahoe. LOL
There is nothing more annoying than a driver with bright white lights behind you. I boo this upgrade. But I still remain a fan of your work.
and the guy in front of you ,wtf
Am I the only one who hates these new LED bulbs? I find them dimmer than a decent bulb, and they *still* burn out and do weird shit. plus they're so damn expensive compared to the average basic bitch bulb... and I hate the color, they all have that stupid blue tinge to them.
Bro..... Just get a NEW truck!!!!
