I wish you were huge on CZcams and could do it full time. Your videos are always really great and to the point. Thanks for the great content over the years
I have the 2002 Tahoe and I am 100% certain after this video, I’ll be tackling this myself. Awesome vid!
I used to work as an IT manager at Narricot Industries in Virginia where they made seat belts. There is a testing room where they stretch the seat belts to maximum, and when they break, I jump every time (not used to being in there all day like the others). They test stretch these things to 10,000 pounds! That's right! You can tow a vehicle with these! I did! The weaving machines that make these will run about 5 to 6 inches a minute (more or less). This technique of weaving is called "narrow cloth" (cloth weaving for clothing is called "broad cloth" for reference). They also make tie down straps and parachute straps.
Stoked you made this video because I was looking at their stuff for my Yukon.
Man I love your attention to detail. I have the exact same Tahoe as yours, but with a bit more miles. Trying to slowly fix things over time and your channel definitely helps me out. Keep it up!!!
Leaving the leather in the sun for a bit before install and letting it heat up makes this a bit easier as well.
Thanks for making these videos, man. I'm thinking of getting a Tahoe of this generation for my next vehicle and your videos make me feel a lot more confident about me making any needed repairs or upgrades.
Great job Matt. Little tip--to find out which color you have, pop your headrest off, flip it over and pop the plastic tab open. There'll be a white tag telling you what color the seats are--Pewter, Med Pewter, neutral etc. Just makes it easier. Using the vin is great--but doing this will tell you the color right away.
I just found your series, and am working my way down the list performing a number of the tasks as well, having just purchased a *rough* 2001 GMC Sierra.
Thank you for having posted these videos.
I'm going to be replacing the covers on my front seats and cleaning the rear ones, before many other items in the rig, since the seat and steering wheel are your main points of interface with your vehicle.
Thanks LsxMatt. Your video was invaluable. Using a new cushion with a new cover is really tight and your trick of kneeling on the seat frame was just the ticket when doing the install by yourself.
The Seat Shop was very nice for sponsoring this video and providing you with top-notch products. You did a great job with the kits provided by The Seat Shop! I'm going to order the same kit from The Seat Shop for my 2006 Tahoe. Hopefully, I'll do as good of a job as you did.
Tahiti! How's momma's big beautiful girl?!
Nice to see you too, Matthew. I'm always so proud to see you get sponsorships and all the love and support.
Broooo finally a Tahoe video I love your videos man keep them coming ❗️❗️
Great video! You gave me the confidence to do this job on my Tahoe. Was about to spend way too much at an upholstery shop. Thank you! Keep up the great work.
I can't be the only one who thought: "The only way the driver's seat gets wrecked like that, is from reaching back to stop your kids from fighting in the car.". Right?
I love watching videos on the Tahoe. One of the best looking older Tahoe’s out there. Great job I love the transformation please try and make more videos on the Tahoe.
2nd generation z71 is a timeless machine the best tahoe ever produced just perfect
She's looking good Matt! I'm about to order my seats with the discount code, lets gooooo!!
Perfect timing for this video. I just bought an 02 Escalade. The seats cleaned up nicely, but have some dye worn off and some small rips. The seat belts are dirty too! I'll have to check out the Seat Shop website.
Awesome vid my dood! I so want to get this done on my Yukon Denali. My seats are trash. When I do, will still use this video ref! Thanks man.
Anybody ever tell you that you sound like Ray Romano? Lol. Really good work. I always love what you do to your Tahoe, looks super clean!
Costs a grand for all that shit if anyone was wondering
Wow a grand to redo both seats wow I truly need to redo all 4 of mine in my 2004 Yukon Denali they are badly trashed and torn form water pouring in my sunroof over the past few years and I need a whole new carpet
great job! Definately looks like work, but very impressive as you worked the seams into the seat foam! Mine needs the same thing, think i'll give it a try. Thanks for the video brother
Your video ended up being the most useful one especially on the part where you use your knees, without that part clipping the front was almost impossible to do
Thank you!
Totally appreciate the video.. I have a 2004 Suburban looking to do the same... as well as the headliner, so looking forward to seeing that with baited breath
Just got off work , it was so hard to wait this long to watch. I've been looking forward to this all day!!!! Thanks Bro, my 03 tahoe will thank you!. Awesome job on the seats and the video.
Man I need that box u got. For my Denali. I see it's not cheap I looked them up. Looks good tho.
i just bought a 2001 tahoe for $500 im planning on completely revamping it im pretty excited but it definetly needs alot of work. other than that it runs and the battery holds a charge and it also make no noises so im pretty stoked.
I also got a Tahoe 2003 for 1800 as a project, I’ve owned it for 2 weeks and I initially fell in love with it , in the past I’ve had minivans and Silverado trucks . But this is a mix of both and is much comfortable than both . Have fun on bringing your Tahoe back to life .
Hey, you did the whole thing, much appreciated.
Excellent video and thank you for doing this in detail I really appreciate this.
Thank you so much for this video. Right now I am in the process of doing the research & shopping around for products to do my Tahoe. I have a 2009 Tahoe SSV ( formally a police vehicle) it has beat up cloth on the front 40/20/40 seats and Vinyl on the rear 60/40 seats. So, my plan is to get vinyl for the front so everything matches. I did price out all products that I will need on a different website, but I believe that I will be going with THE SEAT SHOP after seeing this video...nice job...looks nice. and I will be using your video for reference when I do mine.
Perfect happy Gilmore moment 😂😂😂
Seats look really good.now is you need to replace that trim that’s on the seat control .l also have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe LT model got it two years ago in good shape, red exterior beige leather interior also.
wow - identical to a 2006 Chevy Avalanche Z71 - thanks for sharing, helped me in some details of disassembly
Great video, I will definitely be redoing my seats for my 05 suburban
Excellent video Matt...thank you!!
Nice job! The seatshop has a great product!
"LET MY WORK SPEAK FOR ME".........GREAT-JOB MATT
This is super convenient because I’m looking at getting an LBZ duramax, and they conveniently have the exact same seat design, so I can kinda follow this step by step if need be
Love watching the incredible motivation man thanks.
I have a 2005 Yukon and the leather is worn out and the cushion is pretty flat. I was on the fence about replacing the driver side, but I think this video made my decision easier. SeatShop has a 10% discount if you spend over $500 but your code works even if you spend under $500. Love the videos, keep up the good work.
Fantastic stuff Matt. After cleaning my 1997 Ford Expedition's carpet the same way you did yours, now I'm thinking the seats need some attention. Turns out The Seat Shop makes new leather for mine too. Just kinda annoying that they only offer the stock gray and tan, no F-150 Lightning Black...
Luckily the previous owner had most of the panels reupholstered, but I'm pretty rough on seats lol so these may come in handy eventually.
Nice job 👍.. Looks like very good quality.
Do the vent caps. I did on my 2000 Yukon and it made it look soo good. I also did a Escalade rear bumper that was paint matched.
They look good with the exception of the recess at the top of the armrest on both seats. The fit is decidedly not perfect but it is pretty good.
That Tahiti looks Brad spanking new! Next time you need some help give me a yell Matt! Looking forward to seeing what’s next.
Thanks,
DC
Good video man! Something I too need to do for my truck. Appreciate the discount code!
Thanks for the video. I gotta do this for my 03 Escalade.
Must be so comfortable now, maybe a ranch hand bumper next.i suggest putting a dash cam in all your vehicles
Nice job. Just ordered for my 2001 suburban.
Plz show us the front armrest clip and tool u used to pop out . owner of a 02 tahoe LT
Man im Glad you show me this im dam show fix my own slab in Houston
Nice job my brother..very well demonstrated and explained..now I just need to get over to the #seatshop and get started on my 2004 Suburban..🙌🏾💪🏾😇
Awesome video man! I'm about to do my 2002 Avalanche. Also, if you have airbags in the seat, don't forget to pull the airbag fuse, wait a half house and then pull the harness. What is the model of that Milwaukee impact wrench you were using to get the seats out?
Hey Matt. Great videos and beautiful truck. I'm about to tackle this with my 03 z71 suburban. Was the seat shop able to provide new foam for the passenger front seat? I haven't been able to locate any information on new foam for anything but the driver seats..
Nice job Matt, great content.
Fantastic. Thank you. I have been following. Yes. Love it so informative
Love the Tahoe 👍
Great job on the seats !
Where did you get your carpet and do you have a video on replacing that? I just got a 02 Burb and I want to replace all the interior.
That yellow foam... that's a combination of general mildew, humidity, and ... ASS SWEAT. Yummy! LOL
16:16 - a Billy Madison quote eh?
Hey love the video helps a lot ❤️ and what key fob did you get?
Goll-LY those trucks sound good. I need me a new turbo ASAP. Just towed 9k over 9-11% mountains in the Poconos and my stock LML turbo still hanging in at 238k. Even pushed an intercooler pipe loose. Interestingly, my trans temps never got above 179 degrees
Could I also use this method to change the color of the seat too?
Looks great. Look for some used weather tech mats on FB marketplace. I see tan ones all the time.
@@lsXmatt Do it man. They saved the carpets in my Honda Odyssey. You know, minivan life. I heard maxliner's are just as good and cheaper.
I got a set of grey ones for my Yukon. Holy shit what a difference. It's saved my carpets more than a few times and look great
looks awesome! Off the wall question, what jeans you wearing in this video? Falls coming and need to buy some new ones, lol.
When r u going 2 change the stock speakers? It's been a while now & adding a amp 4 more power.
Great video thanks!
Matt, I’m looking for a hood like yours for my avalanche. Where did you get yours at?
Thanks Dave
I need just the arm rest for a 02 sequoia do you know if it’s possible to just get that individually
Friggin Happy Gilmore baby! you just got a sub from me!
For the c pillar do you know what is the seat belt torque spec on the torx bolt?
Please do a video on the tailgate. I can't open mine on a 2006 Suburban.
I have a 2001 and a 2004 Tahoe, both have side impact airbags. I noticed you didn’t have side impact airbags? Seats look great!
Good 👍 job were can a person buy those I need to do my bottom section
The best part about this series is that an ‘03 Tahoe is identical to an ‘03 Avalanche in nearly every way that matters.
Man I love this truck . I have to do my seat bottom
I just brought a 02 suburban
This is a must do on mine
Good to know thanks
Are you gonna put a new exhaust on it? Magnaflow super 10 sounds good on them
Great video!!
As much as I have no interest in the Tahoe, this is a really good video.
A cheap cheap hand held steamer will soften the leather and give you a little more flexibility, it makes the job a little easier. Smooth out the wrinkles using the steam and your hands and dry overnight. Try it if you tackle the 2nd row.
nice very nice. where'd you get the carpet
Where can we get the middle row captain seat cover?
Hey man How are the seats holding up a year later?
Can you do a long term review how they have held up please.
Marine grade vinyl is the best when it comes to vinyl.
I wanna know how you got that driver side airbag to fit that steering wheel.
Look at the red lol someone died in this thing
Finally I now know how the top of the seat belt unbolts thanks. I need black seat belts for my seat I want to convert to leather. Looks like I'm hitting the junk yard to cannibalize some seats. Haha
I have a 2001 Yukon leather seats, all torn up , can I put different seats, from Tahoe or something similar
I had all my seats Reupholstered, in my 2002 the oem color for only $500.00 here in Chicago, and l must say, its a huge difference. My seat foams were fine and the heaters were too. It was done professionally but without the price, doing the seats over makes it feel like a NEW TAHOE. I strongly recommend it, and the guy comes to your house and takes them out front and back in like 10mins, wish l could post pics. Heating up the material with a heat gun makes the stretch MUCH EASIER
Looks great ! I have cloth seats I’d like to recover with leather
upgrade your interior Halogen Lights to LEDs Thats Gonna Make a Huge different , Like The Doors and the Dome lights
Although the seats look good and they seem like quality, my local upholstery shop charged $400 per seat to do the work and install it. These covers from The Seat Shop costs more than a professional upholsterer charged to do it.
Can I have your old drivers side bottom cover and cushion? I need to do this I'm almost down to the metal frame.
Would love to see a headliner video, mine needs attention as well
Who thinks I should tackle the 2nd row as well?
Yes
Can you restore your door panels I put more insulation in
Might as well
I put 2019 2nd row leather seats.... OMG looks awesome
I would say no because no one sits back there, but if you did, opt for the cheap vinyl ones like you previously had.
