21:36 Rahdo states that Jen has to pay the full 4 coins when she recruits apprentices, but if he explained her unique power correctly, she only has to pay 2 coins as she can ignore all tax.
Similarly 30:45 Rahdo states that Jen could have gone to the Town centre and paid a coin to arrest her own workers, but if she doesn't pay tax, this wouldn't have cost her anything (the 1st time)
Correction: looking at the icon on her player board, it looks like Jen can ignore 1 tax coin? If so, she would pay 3 coins to recruit apprentices.

i've only played the prototype, so i can't say exactly, but i'd guess it would be somewhere in the 8.1-8.3 range if i ever tried it again (especially if they got rid of some of the randomness from blind draws)

No, it is more a descendant of Raiders of the North Sea, icon-wise. The medieval theme is way more common than PotE.

Does Raider play good 2p without a dummy player? I'm more inclined towards the viking theme and you've said that it's better with expansions, than this.
yeah, raiders has no dummy player system (which for architects was designed for solo play actually).

tbh i haven't tried it without the dummy player, but considering how good raiders of the north sea was as a 2p game, i suspect works a-ok!

I will back it because I am intrigued by this arrest and take hostage mechanism... But the game does seem to suffer from something that killed Raiders of the North Sea for me, which is the fact which worker placement only just gives you a tiny bit of benefit, so you end up having to take dozens of turns before you can actually do something meaningful and that is physically tiring for me... I prefer when worker actions are a bit more meaningful...
i call these sorts of titles 'baby step' games for the reasons you suggest. not for everyone, to be sure. jen usually dislikes them as well but she found this one palatable

I personally find Raiders interactions and mechanisms more interesting. Though this doesn't seem to play badly.
26 min forgot to take a debt card for having the most workers in prison

skipped the black market reset.
Regardless of how the Black Market Reset is triggered, the action that
caused it should first be resolved. After doing so, the following steps
should be taken:
1. All Workers currently in the Black Market are moved to the Prison.
2. The top Small Market Card (left) is turned over and placed on top
the Large Market (right).
3. Players with any Black Market Reset based Apprentices may take their actions in any chosen order.
4. All players with 3 or more Workers in Prison lose 1 Virtue.
5. The player, or players with the most Workers in Prison each take 1 Debt Card, placing it “unpaid” side
faceup in front of them.
yup, klingon subtitles were a bit late to the party, but this goof is noted now :)
But can you play a normal 2 player game without Helena?
yup. iirc there's a few tweaks made because there's less worker arresting with only 2p, but yeah the dummy is not required at all... it was developed for the solo game, and just happens to work for 2 :)

No State Income Tax in Washington, just a ridiculously high State Sales Tax especially in Seattle.
Zak Koehler Come to Illinois...high property taxes for our bloated, inefficient, corrupt State government, State income tax to pay for the ridiculous pension obligations (due to poor mgmt of state funds), as well as sales tax. It’s paradise I tells ya.

Keep in mind, Rahdo doesn't accept money for his playthroughs. He'll only do a vid if he likes a game. With that said ...
It is extremely possible that this game, like Raiders of the North Sea before it, will make it into the retail space. And, if you wait you're likely to get the base game for less than what it is now. The only KS "exclusives" in this campaign aren't exclusives. Backers get early access to a few expansion packs "free" for participating in the campaign.
just wait 9 months and watch the video then, and it will be for a retail game instead of a kickstarter game
