I love this game. Kick started it.. Also have the others of the west and Raiders. For me at this point i rate the 1. Raiders 2. Viscounts 3. Architects 4. Paladins. I have played Viscounts on TTS several times! So good
For me its architects, viscounts, raiders and I prefer not to put paladins on the list because I really don't enjoy it. To me it sticks out amongst the rest of the games as it just feels so dry and uninteractive in comparison. Nonetheless, Garphill certainly hasn't released anything below a 8/10 since Raiders which is basically a modern classic IMO.
@@Shoitaan my wife really likes Paladins. She is drawn towards that create your own focus and execute in a more solitary style. The mechanics are super solid but the table interactions is a bit light and the sandbox nature of the game means that you either have to play with someone equally as knowledgeable about the game as yourself or play solo. Or games will not be very competitive.

I really like the rotating assistant cards aspect of the game!
I now want this game more than ever. KS can't come soon enough. This play through at least *looked* more fun than the other two parts of the trilogy. (I'm also quite excited for Paladins to come in the same package.) All this excitement despite the fact that Raiders was a bit of a let down for me.
well it's worth remembering that west kingdom games have a co-designer, wich is going to give them a different feel :)
I think there’s a setup goof for the manuscripts. The first 1 on each stack should be a random 1 of the starter tiles.

Which is the best game to get if you don't have any of them yet? My group prefers meatier games, such as Root, Dominant Species, FCM, etc

I can't wait, I have the first two and backed this (and tomesaga) on KS. In you opinion, how would you rank them in terms of weight? Which is easiest to learn/teach to the hardest?
in his final thoughts he said architects is the easiest and viscounts the most complex

You can only dismiss a Townsfolk card if the Icons on the card match the Action you are taking, you can't just Dismiss a Townie for their dismissal benefit

Can you really go the way you took on your first turn because there are arrows printed on the map which indicates different directions? I haven't read the rules but otherwise I can't see a purpose of these arrows. Thanks for the gameplay runthrough :)
If you mean at 12:44 when he actually does his first movement why do you say he didn't follow the arrows? Have you looked at the board? He followed the arrows printed there

47:11 i think you used your flip action when you build that for flip your debt.
Like Richard asked at the start of the video, Please Turn ON the Klingon Subtitles to be notified on screen when Richard makes a goof... that one was already noted in there
47:00, when you built your guild building you had covered the bonus to flip the debt/deed card and you had fliped the dept card (and too one stone then). So, replacing you guild abd taking one extra gold was a kind of cheating))))
it was already noted in the klingon subtitles! I even called him a cheater!!
Are the gold resource tokens really orange, or is that just how they appear on screen?
my saturation is turned up a bit to compensate for the fact that my contrast is also boosted a bit. irl they're more gold coloured :)
In Architects the gold is orange. The first time I played it look me a while to realise that’s what they were. So it doesn’t surprise me that they are the same here. I’m disappointed that they didn’t fix it, but I’m not surprised.
My gold in Architects was definitely yellow.
@@darren.mcauliffe I've got Architects and play using that gold for Viscounts cause it is indeed orangey and doesn't remind me of gold. But Architects' gold is definitely yellow. Both bought retail.

Someone probably entered the wrong paint color number at the factory lol Architects is yellow, I use that gold instead.
