    As for the mistake at 15:15, I do this sometimes in all of the west kingdom games. There really needs to be a different coin or a different symbol for tax money because its easy to forget as the shades of brown are quite similar, especially when the regular coin and tax coin are not pictured next to each other.

    I love it when worker placement games have 'types' of workers. It's both thematic and gives players a lot more to keep in mind.

      This is why i love Anachrony and Trickerion so much! Apparently, the solo AI in Paladins works similar to the Chronobot so i can't wait to try it.

    Great Video, Radho, thank you. A question: at 17:41 you say that later on you cannot retroactively put a second worker in the Recruit area, but I believe that is incorrect. I think this rule applies only to Hunt and Trade.

      Rahdo is correct you can check the rules in Page 14 in the Recruit Action in the IMPORTANT RULE paragraph. cheers

    So...on the first turn...could have developed, which would have allowed you to play the building over the red guy needed for conversion, so you wouldn't have needed to gain any suspicion in the first place? Of course, since the missionary gets rid of suspicion and the inquisition shouldn't have happened, I guess that ultimately didn't matter - but since you are going to be doing a lot of conversions, not having to play the red each time seems reasonable and...since you do have the new paladin coming up on turn 2, you won't have to pay your money for conversion that turn anyway (or you could push it down to use later when conversion would be more expensive).
    This game seems like there is a lot going on. I really enjoy games where you have to really think about your decisions, but they also tend to be very difficult for most people.

    I missed out on architects. Looking at backing this and getting both :p

    • @codydavis3100
      @codydavis3100 Před 5 lety

      I backed Architects because the promos available were good. 5 more player powers and the tax stand punchboard were good. Still cost $70 which is $20 more than with retail so I still weigh are those player powers and tax stand worth the $20. The promos for Paladins aren't as exciting to pay $20 more in my opinion. So I'll probably just wait for retail and save money. Architects is fantastic but I don't think I needed to back it to get my money's worth. But by all means I'm not trying to say Paladins isn't worth backing or buying because I will buy it at the end of the day.

    • @redeyedghost1406
      @redeyedghost1406 Před 5 lety

    Whoever designed this game played a LOT of Orleans. Some mechanics like covering up a spot to make the worker placement action easier on future turns, is ripped right out of Orleans

    • @rahdo
      @rahdo  Před 3 lety

      could be, but otoh it's not like orleans invented the idea of investing to make actions cheaper over time either :)

    This game - as weird as it sounds - feels like Orleans, except there's none of that interesting more direct engine building element in Paladins. So I'd prefer Orleans to this I think.

    • @aleg2490
      @aleg2490 Před 3 lety

      I thought of Orleans immediately while watching this. Especially with those little constructions that lower the amount of workers needed to perform certain actions, and saving some for further rounds.
