I've always loved making food videos and that's how it started. CZcams starts off as a passion. Dont get into it if you are looking to make it your job. It doesn't work that way :)
Why arent you on TV?
Because the internet is easier and its free for you guys hahaha! Also we are currently working on producing TV shows ourselves as well.

to a certain degree yes. But if I were you, I would leave him off the hook. It's so obvious he has a lot to learn and understand about China before making that raw conclusion at the end, which understandably a very Western-centric view.
you prolly dont care but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all the latest movies and series on instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my gf during the lockdown =)

I've always been fascinated with the culture of China. I'm currently taking Mandarin classes and most of my friends are wondering why I chose such a "difficult" language elective (Most people would usually take Spanish or Korean) Hopefully, I can stay in Shanghai in the future :) This video is inspiring me a lot. Hey Erwan, I always love your overnight series. And I am Chinese. Originally I Came from Taiwan and now I'm working in main land China. It is a very hundred percent detailed accurate description of China so far. I think the Internet changed your world and it changes mine. I do hope one day the Chinese Internet will become one with the world. By the way , The back background music is always my favorite. Keep it up.

I really like the direction you're taking this in, but instead of branding it as an overnight city guide, you should brand it as a documentary and even try to publish it! Plus, you are a very great writer and speaker.

Another well written, well filmed, and well conceptualized episode of OVERNIGHT. i like how you tackle not only the sights and the food, but also the general feel and atmosphere of every place you visit. You cover everything from the culture, to the politics, to the everyday trivialities that gives the place its charm and character. I like how every episode is presented differently yet cohesively; thought provoking, and yet very relaxing to watch. Watching this is truly a nice way to cap off my day.

Love hearing your perspective every time! I came here for the food but ended up loving how well you describe each country you visit. I am going to start traveling soon and this shows how much a person's horizon broadens when they travel.
As a person who lived in both China and United States, I feel the term communism for China can be quite different as it has been defined in western countries. It is more like, should I say, a confucianized crony capitalism system rather than the communism.

Lord, you are hella underrated. It's just annoying how other people are so butt-hurt over how you decided to take your channel into a direction which actually infused food and travel with the culture and politics of a country. Your overnight asia guides is not only making the traveller itch inside me but also brings such nostalgia and homesickness to the motherland! Although Canada is where i live now and what i call home, Asia will always have a dear and special place in my heart. Thank you for highlighting not just the blitz and glam of the city you go to but also the crooks and nannies that make these places authentic and special. For a different reason, I kinda like this video a lot. It deviates from the usual travel vlog, but instead tackled some significant political state and social relevance while still maintaining focus on food and culture. Great video!
