- Overnight is a travel and food show for today’s traveler and we’ve been working on this web series for 4 months now. In today’s time hungry world, people want to try and experience so much in so little time. In fact, we discovered that most people travelling around Asia would spend on average 36 to 72 hours in any given capital city. So we decided to the same thing. Overnight will go through 5 large Asian cities (Taipei, Saigon, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Seoul) and will attempt to show you what you can do during those precious few hours you have in the metropolis. From drinking, eating, discovering new cultures all the way up to clubbing. Overnight’s got you covered.
Here is your Kuala Lumpur City Guide!

I've visited Malaysia and got married with my love there. Watching this video has brought joyful tears to my eyes. Lots of great memories and wonderful time.
John Doe why tears still married?
I lived in Malaysia for 2 years after leaving Vietnam and I have only one word : amazing. Malaysia should be in the list of one of the food destinations to visit in South East Asia.
Cooking with Vân well malaysian is peacfull islamic country
Thanks for your compliment
im from malaysia and i find vietnamese girl are beautiful. I wanna marry vietnamese girl
You have a restaurant ?
well thailand used to have amazing street food culture but now its gone! military stupidly cut it down to almost nothing.
The taxi driver explains it rather well about races and culture. If you have been around in Jakarta or Bangkok, you may see only one type of race (or nationality), which is Indonesian or Thai, despite having different root. But Malaysia races are distinguishable. Malay, Indian, Chinese, Bidayuh, Kadhazan, Iban kept their heritage, culture, language and religion intact. In that sense it made Malaysia dynamic and unique. If you happen to visit again and really wants to experience the local culture, try visit Malacca, Langkawi, Terengganu and its island in the east coast. Day trip can be made to visit taiping, penang, ipoh and even up north near the thai broder just by taking the electric train. I would not recommend staying in KL for more than a week but spend more time in other town. 5 days in KL is enough for short sight seing, base and transit city.
+Rusydan Mohamad been to thailand and some other asian countries and i have to tell you this isnt quite unique really. thailand has indians, chinese, malays, even kazakhs aside from westerners. same way with singapore. cant say anything for indonesia as i have not been there yet. philippines on the other hand do not have that much ethnic diversity aside from american, koreans and chinese. but philippines makes up for it in varying differences of foreign mixed breeds including spaniards and chinese which originated as far back as 300 years ago.
He's great but ignorant towards east Malaysia(borneo), he mentioned there's only 3 races in this country. seriously? what happened to Iban, bidayuh, kayan, kenyah, kadazan, penan, lun bawang , bisaya , jakun , melanau and heck alot more?!
You are expecting too much from a taxi driver's on the fly comment while driving
i actually dont think it is true as ive been to thailand as well. there are significant numbers of indians, chinese, malay. no to mention, thais and westerners. i think it is more pronounced in malaysia because ethnicities did not integrate well in society hence the difference in cultures were maintained. in countries like the philippines the chinese are well integrated into the contempary and mainstream filipino culture which is hispanic-austronesian. same way with the indians and malays in thailand, they are well integrated into the thai culture so the ethnicities are not as pronounced as singapore or malaysia.
Kleco101 maybe you think the 3 ethnicities in Singapore are well-integrated but ive been there and I can definitely say that it is not as integrated as you think because Chinese, Indians and malays of Singapore still hold on to each of their distinct cultures. So yes, a melting pot but not a cultural porridge like the ones in the Philippines, where Chinese, Spanish mestizos and natives all have one common culture without any significant differences. though we do still have a small muslim minorities in Mindanao whose culture is so unlike the contemporary Filipino culture. same way like those in Thailand whose indian and Chinese population are heavily integrated to the contemporary thai culture, they are culturally indistinct to thais if not for their physical appearance.
lived in KL for a year. amazing place for an expat. the foodiest place I have ever been. super friendly and welcoming people. it has everything. economically way ahead of most other SE Asian places but mixed with incredible scenery, greenery and culture. i will miss it!!
I've never been to Malaysia before. I'm pleasantly surprised with how it looks in the video.
I'm a Malaysian and you're pretty local for me. Those places you went are very locals. Great job!
i am visiting this october...can u help showing places
Hi
Except for his accent......
Malaysia is an awesome place to visit, underrated by many
Aptly said!
Hello
Yeaaaaa I'm Singaporean and love KL!
weissweiss Why?
weissweiss I’m malaysian and I loooooove Singaporeeeeee 🇸🇬
you put away the politics, then we are one country
well said uncle
Who else is watching this before they go on their epic trip to Malaysia!?!
I'm watching this 2 days before I go, at the moment it's 1:45 AM. I'm super excited for the fun adventures to vlog!!
I'm watching heavily jet lagged in KL. I have the full day ahead so handy reference
i like the statement made by the chinese guy driving the white myvi.
Titus Labroski do u means white alza is it? or i missed look on it?? 😊
The Grab/Uber driver is such a great ambassador!
Malaysia has it all!
im kind of hurt when the taxi dude said there's only 3 races in Malaysia. Son, malaysia has more than 3 races which consist of Indians, Malay, Chinese,Iban, bidayuh, kayan, kenyah, kadazan, penan, lun bawang , bisaya , jakun , melanau and heck alot more! Kuala Lumpur is in west Malaysia which consist of mostly 3 races. Come to east malaysia, "Borneo" and you will experienced the thrill of all the races!
+Hairizal Dahrin the fuck is wrong w u? Have u heard the vid? He said ONLY 3 races? Where the heck do the borneos bumis go??? I m wrong bout the races or ethnics dispute but he only mention theres ONLY 3 race?? If a foreigner were to learn about malaysia they should know theres not only Malay,Chinese and Indians but many more at east malaysia. Im merely disappointed he ddnt mention anythting bout the borneons
those you were mentioning other than malay chinese indian are called ethnics...not races
you are wrong in the part where Government promote only 3 main races tho . Malaysian television , commercials or any tourism commercial depicts also the natives because they are some of the main attraction for tourism such as rainforest and diversity in ethincs. Thats what malaysia are famous. Not only for 3 races but for their multicultural practices and customs that shapes up 1 Malaysia . Stating theres only 3 race will not make Malaysia any different than any other countries. These is what i wanted to clarify :)
sorry my bad , i wanted to clarify those ethincs group such they are called orang asli or non-malay bumiputera. read up my other reply if u wanna know what i wanted to clarify.
+Kleco101 well , we are not living in that era anymore bro, we evolve in our mindset. If west malaysian still refer the borneo people as a separate region than thats not malaysia and it wil lead to discrimination. Borneo have its own development and you'll be suprise urself if u were to come to borneo. Likewise ignoring orang asli and not including them in discussion about describing malaysia as a whole will bring down the notion on 1Malaysia. Even the government of malaysia promotes not only malays, chinese or indian but include all the other big ethnic groups such as Iban, Bidayuh for example. People mindset should change and be aware of orang asli's status as they are malaysians too and they are the ones that contributed in making malaysia acknowledged as a country filled with many cultures that can experienced by everyone and not limited. Telling people that malaysia is only consisted of 3 race is just not malaysia.

I think this is one of the best guided video I’ve watched. Really nice. 😇
je suis nouvelle je viens du Québec Canada et j'adore vos vidéos merci beaucoup:-))
Very nice! I go to Malaysia a lot for work, and i love how convenient everything is. You can even drop your bags off at KL Sentral Station and they'll take them to your plane! No need to lug your bags around the KL International Airport while waiting for your flight home. The hotels are really reasonably priced and I'd agree that it is similar to Singapore but a lot more affordable!!!
Great guide... I lived in KL for 7 years and I totally agree with visiting and eating at Jalan Alor! The stingray and chicken fish are fantastic!
We love what you make!!! You give us inspiration, to see the world. Best wishes from Germany
Such a great video. Well filmed and edited and great recommendations too!
Just stumbled upon these amazing travel vlogs of Erwan and I'm literally hooked and craving for more. Cebu Pacific should make him do some more of these videos. They're very engrossing. I wish he could feature exotic places like India and Nepal as well as culturally diverse cities like Toronto and Paris. I want to see his own take of these places.
love the video!! will def have to visit and love that you actually gave places that you can check out. awesome!
Excellent film. Wonderfully informative.
Malaysia without bad politics and governance is heaven,
I am a Malaysian so my statement is definitely biased ;-)
You speak the truth! I agree with you 100%! Malaysia is a blissful country withnatural tropical rain forest, all the delicious foods of Malay/Chinese/indian and other races and fusion foods! Its heaven for foodies. Only thing is the corrupt bad govern which is one big bad bad bad news!
New Tourism Slogan -
