Found a gas cap that fits and doesn't leak at all. So, I tried it, but it gave the engine a vapor lock after a couple minutes. However, he came up with a fix for it so this is the best fuel cap I've seen so far. Go subscribe to his channel!

Hey that's awesome, I just got the autozone cap and modified the cap like he said. How has yours been holding up? Does it vent enough to allow you to ride the bike nonstop? Thanks
@@precisionbay6899 Yeah, it's been holding up great so far once I took out those couple pieces. Hope yours works well too!
Do don't this. It's leaking out of the vent hole, not the cap seal. If you seal up the vent hole your carb will not get cap. What a crap cap design from a crap commie country
John wheels keep it up with your channel 👍 I'm lovin your vids.
Cool Video. Working on my XL250 Honda. Bought a new cap with stock with gasket. It leaks. Looking at options.
Hero
I got so sick of my gas tank spewing gas all over the place just from a minute of running so i added an O-Ring to the inside of the cap and then with the cap on i wrapped it tightly with Plumbers Tape lol. It looks stupid but it works. I'll obviously have to unravel the Plumbers Tape when i eventually run outta gas to refuel.
Check out the description. Some guy found a cap you can buy from auto zone and all you have to do is just take out one little part.
J/w, did you try taking the seal off that automotive cap and double stack that instead of making the cork one?
I actually did try that but it didn't work. Good idea though. A guy actually figured out how to make that aftermarket cap work. Check out the description of this video.
@@JohnWheels Ya I saw that, I picked up the auto cap from Advanced but it's a little different of a style and not as easy to take apart but I'll make it happen
My CT200U is noisy as heck, seems the false gas tank is a sounding board that amplifies the engine and exhaust sounds. All is stock except the Go power Sports torque coveter. Has anyone removed their fake gas tank and noticed a difference?
I haven't removed my fake tank, but it might be the lid to the fake tank. Try taking that off and see if there's a problem and also make sure all the bolts are tight on the fake tank. If it is the lid, you could try putting some weatherstripping material around it to try to isolate the rattling
Hey John!
Found your video a bit too late, but wanted to confirm your theory on the gas cap you show at the end. I too tried the Duralast 6810 from AutoZone, and while the seal is nice and tight; stopping any gas spillage . . . unfortunately the improper ventilation stops the gravity fed tank from supplying enough fuel to the carburetor and starving it to the point of stalling out. As you noted, releasing the cap every 5-10mins is the only cure I can think of (aside from drilling a tiny pilot hole in the cap). I'm going to give your solution with the cork gasket a try! How's it been holding up for you??
Hi Mike, so far it's been holding up great. However, The cork material seems to absorb the gas so the cork gasket is always kind of damp so I'm not sure how it will hold up in like a year or so but so far it's been good.
Also the autozone gas cap doesn't turn all the way, in fact it barely get even 1/8th of a turn on it
Follow up I filed the Two locating tangs on the cap so it will be able to turn onto the bike
hmm, I had no issues with mine. Sorry you had to go through that.
Hey I think you saw my video I started having the problem and I just uploaded a fix for it
Thanks! I'll give it a try.
OR JUST USE THE END OF A OLD THROTTLE GRIP, WORKS PERFECTLY ACTUALLY
Hmm, great idea. I'll have to try that on my next bike.
