I respect Norm, but this is where these guitars should be. Not sitting in a crate in a warehouse, but in the hands of a musician.
Norm is master salesman. Never forget he does this to buy low sell high, just like wall st. just a different asset class
Norm is smart, he buys them and puts them away until the price just gets so stupid that he has to sell it.
It is also an investment. It is worth more now in better condition probably, unless a famous person wore it out...
Wish it would go into the hands of a musician that writes decent music, but at least he's one hell of a player. We get to hear what this guitar can really do. He's also a good guy, but I'm just tellin it like it is here
Because of people like Norm and other collectors are why we still have these guitars. They persevere them and aren’t playing in a shit hole bar with them.
I'm glad to see Joe get this beauty. This means alot to me personally because The king of the original Flying V (Lonnie Mack) played old #5 at my wedding in 82.
Fantastic moment in Joe's life. Great to that someone recorded it. Love you guys. Greetings from Ireland
A fantastically rare guitar now in the hands of someone who really appreciates it's worth and historical value and can really play it.
Happy to hear that Joe is going to take it on the road to play it. It's not going to sit for another 25yrs. Bet it sounds AMAZING.

I'm so grateful this happened five years ago... it was the first step of many that got a lot of us, Flying V freaks to finally own an affordable, yet accurate reproduction of a 58 Korina V. Back when this was filmed Joe still hadn't done all the Amos Arthur research, but I didn't realize this was the V on This is Spinal Tap! So cool... I'm so grateful with the guys at Gibson and Epiphone for my Epi JB Amos V! And with Joe for sharing his nerdness and supernatural talent with us all! And Norm's a national treasure of knowledge as well.
Years back, I had posted a picture of Amos holding the guitar that Amy (his granddaughter) sent me. Joe saw it and made it his screen saver. He didn't know it was the same guitar he bought until matching the serial number up with the records at Arthur's Music. The picture did not show the white input jack ring.
Bring it back to life, Joe!
Just saw Joe on the three kings tour.....amazing! wish he would have had that earlier. Fantastic show anyway.
Can't wait to hear this jewel in the master's capable hands!!!
A great example of Living the Dream. Joe is doing it and Norm is as well. Study what you just saw and walk your mind through the business and enjoyment angle , Genius at work!
MY WORD!!!!!!!! Seriously! I knew Norm had a lot of guitars, everyone knows that, but that warehouse! Holy hell! No telling how many guitars are in there and the prized jewels Norm would NOT part with... he can almost certainly control the vintage guitar market. That end shot just shocked me. Had no idea it was that much.
Norm, your a hell of a guy,and I hope I can meet you some day! When I listen and watch you talk,it's like I'm seeing and hearing all of the love that you have for these things, just spilling out! And at your age, which is probably close to mine,I feel the same way you do! I don't feel quite as silly after seeing you.I don't have to be embarrassed about how I feel about them. Take care of yourself and thanks for sharing these videos. Peace.
Great stuff Norm!! This is what it's all about 😁
2 days ago i bought a ticket for a Joe Bonamassa concert and im thrilled
I'm VERY GRATEFUL I GOT TO SEE JOE PLAY AMOS IN MERRILLVILLE INDIANA !!!!!! HOPE TO SEE THEM & THE GANG SOON!!!!!!!!
7 years ago... wow...Awesome stuff,
please shoot a warehouse video or make a weekly episode of all those hidden beautys.
+brandon harrison I SECOND THAT
Yeah, 1 guy hoards items that others cannot have. Gordon Gecko comes to mind. If it was stocks/gold bars you would think different
+Pastor Casket yea that's what I was thinking. that would be insane to fill a warehouse. but it would nice to see what's stored away.
brandon harrison guitar of the day
@@chobrapman3615 Guitar warehouse of the day 😚
From Spinal Tap to JB amazing how some of the same instruments make their rounds between different musicians.
I saw Joe play this guitar on the 3 Kings tour in Bangor, ME. When he strapped it on my wife grabbed my arm and said "That is the coolest guitar I've ever seen!" She has good taste. I see now that epiphone has a replica, but no lefty version yet.
Rare cars, rare pianos, rare boats etc. should be used, not stored away. I understand the investment aspect of it, but there is something sacrilegious about seeing a Shelby Cobra in some museum collecting dust. Same here. I am happy to see this slab of Korina get some new life.
Joe is on track to become one of the greatest collectors of all time........and rightly so. He loves 'em all.
+Terry O'Malley I agree. I know he uses them, but I hope he opens a museum or lets the public see them one day.
I would suggest Norm beats Joe in the collector department
And i can't afford a custom shop stratocaster for several year's to come.
Not fair...
That's so awesome Norm Peace
What an axe, what a Norm!
Thanks for letting it go to Joe, it'll be played like it was ment to!!
Wow norm's warehouse is fuckin huge
I think I just witnessed guitar heaven!
I've been there; but that was over 30 years ago. And Norm really is a big hearted guy. Hi Mark.
Note the protective finger on the V case as Joe is walking out. A lesson most of us learn the hard way!
Ed Rees Can you explain why? I'm curious now.
Makes total sense, thanks. Especially with a holy grail guitar like this.
Triple redundancy - Latches, leather belt and finger.
You know, I've always wished I could go on a Guitar Safari like Joe, but as a lower-middle income working stiff with a single-income household, I simply can't afford it. I'm fortunate that I can afford all my bills and I've managed to collect a few (inexpensive) guitars and amplifiers over the years and I count my blessings, but seeing all the amazing gear Joe has run through over the years, it sure makes a guy dream.
YES
Can't wait to hear that beast howling. No better custodian than JoeB for it.
"custodian" such a sneaky word to deflect reality
...So... The knobs go to eleven? I've always wanted one of those. Obviously can't afford an original, but Gibson hasn't released many Korina Vees over the years ( I think they've only reissued Korina Vees once ). The Korina wood & PAFs seem a little lighter in tone than Mahogany/maple cap & PAFs.
Nice deal. Big hearted of Norm to let it go. Real is real.
+richard henry I'm guessing he got a little beer money for it.
So does Joe own the Explorer on Oh Pretty Woman or was it a loaner?
Hey Norm I noticed that the pick guard was warped on it. And yes I do remember this guitar in the movie spinal tap. Thank God Joe got it maybe he might let somebody touch it. Nigel sure wouldn't let rob Reiner touch it. LOL
I was just watching the Royal Albert Hall concert and Joe is using a Korina V then back in 09. Was that not a good enough one or perhaps a loner? He played the hell out of it on Just Got Paid and it sounded great.
+Täking Thë High Roäd it was an early 80's heritage reissue, it's made out of korina but not from the '58 - '59 original run.
Nathan Lam Ah. Now I know. Thanks for the info
Täking Thë High Roäd no problem
I believe the one 09 was an 82 reissue
Chad Laity '81 actually. in ask norm #7 JB explains the sound difference
waiting to hear what coming out from JOE with that great V ;)
And there’s the beginning of Amos
Hey Joe what's in the two Les Paul cases ???
there is a video of him playing it on facebook
KOOOOL !!!! BEYOND KOOOOOOOOL!
That warehouse is enormous!
Ol Amos. So cool
And they are walking out with 5 guitars, or at least 5 guitar cases ... nice shopping trip.
It's never too late to learn.
Joe probably needed a good Tax right off and this little gem will probably help. Cool guitar!
Next time can we see all the guitars Joe bought ? Please? Thx ;)
how many guitars did he trade to get that 1
Is that where they put the lost arc.
you bess have a clip of joe b rockin' that v w/ all e-q's @ noon & jusa lil' reverb in the future. 'cus that ibanez
ain't doin' it. very thin sounding.
The warehouse looks huge! Whats the overhead on that place? Wow.
J Alan
Its a general Warehouse...those are numbered rented containers.
If he owns a Warehouse! and has filled it with Guitars that would be unbeleivable.
pretty sure he just rents some space in the warehouse and not the entire thing
How many guitars are we talking about here?
That’s what’s sooooo sick about Joe is that he takes vintage gear on the road because like he says “that’s what there for!” I love that, I mean shit it’s not like you can take it with you when you die
WOW, That's just nuts. The guitar is nice, don't get me wrong, but the warehouse. Man Oh Mann I wonder what's in there.
Im surprised I dont see the Ark of the Covenant in a half open crate somewhere behind them.
I hope he brings it to Vienna :D
+Drachot I imagine he'll keep it in the US and I don't blame him!
How much?
so 1is not enough Joe leaves with 5, awesome !
Norm without question has more premium vintage guitars than anybody in the world. He is a nice guy, but is a business man first. I have both sold him guitars, and bought guitars and always felt good about the deal.
Norm, it is never too late to start playing guitar or any other instrument, so go to it and start today!!!
he does play guitar. he just isn't a professional
That was back in 2015, today(2020) Joe own's three of the real "V"'s
Wonder what Amos sounds like in the hands of a really good Jazz player.
Man I really wish they would disclose the actual price paid for it. I can only imagine something that rare and in extraordinary shape for it's age would be in the high 5 figure range!
Real 1958 Flying V’s hover around $400,000-$500,000
@@MDKKeyser O U C H !
That's AMOS!!!!
some day.....
Pretty sure that guitar came from Indiana.
David moeller It most certainly did. Arthur's Music, Indy.
out of curiosity.. what was the price folks?
$250,000-$300,000
@@minisurfbanana joe probably had to write the cheque before they went to the warehouse lol
Jesus christ, how much money has norm made selling guitars?! That warehouse is huge!
Is norm a bazillionaire??
martlgr yes but he bought lots of those before they costed 100 thousand or more each
Bite Sized Blues no, he's American.
lmfao good one
He is coming from a VERY wealthy Family.... bankers and stuff...but he had a vision....
That'll be 'Amos', then?
Albert King should come back and reclaimed that guitar
AMOS...
Somewhere in that warehouse probably lies the Ark of the Covenant - In guitar form !
Is that Amos
Anyone know if he has used this guitar yet? If so any video?
+Rick Lambert he is taking it out on tour and will be playing it in Nov-DEC -there is a new Normans vid with JOE where he talks about the V-the fact that Joe plays these guitars is what makes him having them such a good thing-it is a shame that so many great instruments never see the light of day anymore
+vibrato6 Thanks for the info. Very cool! I agree, so many incredible instruments that are stuffed away in lightproof nitrogen-filled vaults never to be seen again. Seeing Joe play these reminds me of when I went to Laguna Seca raceway and saw the vintage class out there racing on the track. Seeing and hearing them roar and screech...doing what they were made to do...was so cool. Joe is doing the same thing. Beck does also from time to time but not to this extent.
Rick Lambert I was reading the other day that Keith Richards has over a 1,000 guitars and I know Billy Gibbons has like 800-all of these guys have been amassing collections for many years-Keith still pays a lot of the vintage stuff and so do a few other guys but for the most part it is in the studio and they use custom shop reissues for touring- when the big vintage craze started in the 80's the Japanese economy was booming and they bought a ton of vintage guitars and vaulted them- it is a real shame that so many great instruments are now considered investments and not played anymore-it is ironic that classical violinists play Strads that are worth millions and rock'n rollers are storing their finest instruments away like wimps
And you get paid for doing this? BEST JOB EVER
Yep, buy from the retirees who need the money low, sell to super rich rockstars for double. Woo hoo!
Is that warehouse full of guitars? Wtf! Is he buying every guitar out there?? creating a market "shortage" and then driving their prices up? Hmm.
I call for guitar regulation by the government! No one should be able to buy up that many vintage guitars, what is this, a free market?
supply and demand homie
Norm is Rich, but you will see how crazy rich he will be in just 7-10 years
Read his book, confessions of an antique guitar dealer, he has been buying and selling since the 60,s when people were trading these, Norman was putting them away
ok so a guitar he didn't think he would ever sell, has history and is rare. How much did it cost Joe?
I heard it was 500k.
Great stuff as ALWAYS Norm....you put the guys on 48th street in New York to shame...and ALWAYS will...
I'm sure the million dollar check helped.
Ahhh where the Amos story began.
Wow shocking... Joe got it
well it was him or Frank Stallone....
Hay, what's in the other cases as you leave warehouse ?
Did Joe get more toys.
Who cares what Joe's had in his mind...Norm made a huge amount of sale end of this video.. Congratulation Norm..haha
Top. Men.
Which crate is hiding the Ark of the Covenant??
I was sad to read so many negative comments about Norm. He gave the guitar away for free to Joe. Well done Norm.
He does it to make money. But these type of people are the reason some of these guitars will be around in 200 years.
If I had a 50 grand guitar the last person I would call is Norm. Why take half the value if I can get it all.
Are all of those crates filled with guitars?
Cases lots of cases
+mizmo21 thats mind blowing.
+John O'Bryan Beyond mind blowing! Great of Norm to try and keep them all together like that and preserve whats left! They don't make them like that anymore!
+John O'Bryan Nah man that would just me disgusting. They keep all kinds of stuff in there, most of them are not guitar related!
Its a general Warehouse...those are numbered rented containers.
If he owns a Warehouse! and has filled it with Guitars that would be unbeleivable.
Ahh, that makes sense. I was thinking all those containers were full of rare guitars. Maybe Norm just has 4 or 5 of those containers and the rest are other customers of the warehouse.
Norm looks to be sweating through his shirt. Hopefully that warehouse is climate controlled.
Now come on..that is Not Norms warehouse..unless he is in the moving and trucking business also....
Glad Norm is selling it to Joe...
Why not let him borrow it, I mean he said he would never sell it...right. Salesmen are like magicians, you cannot see how they do it
Prob a million bucks... Think there were only 80 something even made
And of course Joe is walking out with 5 guitars instead of just one.
If you have the $$ you should never buy the guitars at Norm's store, the good ones are in the Warehouse
What a lucky bastage....
"I said I would never sell it" until somebody rich enough wanted to give me way too much money for it. Hypocrisy at ots finest. Master salesmen are awesome!
+CaribSurfKing1 You hit the nail on the head, sir.
+bluesboynate Exactly. I am not trying to be a dick either. Its just people don't see through the BS. He biys low and sells high for a living. Technically he is not different than a Wall St. guy, but he does deal in real physical items, which I believe he loves etc... to a certain price, that is!
If he doesn't buy low and sell high he can't stay in business. That's one reason my major city I live in has zero guitar stores.
“Joe is practically my nephew “. Cue $50,000 on top .
how much $$ would this have cost Joe?
Must be nice to get hundreds of thousands of dollars for a guitar you couldn't even bother to maintain well enough to keep the tuners working.
So much sleazeball in one video
