You can get a new white plastic bushing for the clutch. I got one from Quadratec.

Sorry Nick, but I laughed my whole way through the video, seeing you cursing as much as me and going through the same moods hahaha!!! I feel your pain Bro! I went through 2 of those factory style garbage master cylinders, and ended up modifying a TJ master. I have the exact same truck as you that I converted to 4x4, so I swapped in an external slave AX5 from a TJ. Those stock MJ masters always kept leaking not long after, and always felt like they weren't pushing enough fluid, making it hard to shift from a stop. Also, pretty fun to bleed, eh? Even with the TJ Master, slave and transmission, I think I'll have to give it a 4th or 5th bleed... Fun times!!!

I've been dieing to swap in an AX5 for highway use. Found this things only got 3.55 gears in it too! Would probably have more guts with 4.11s, and a motor that wasn't burning a gallon of oil every 1000 miles.

@@NickInTimeFilms 3.55???? I thought the 2.5 Liters came standard with 4.11s? Man that must suck! The axles I got for the 4x4 swap had 3.07s and I drove it like that for a few months, on 31s... It was an exercise in pateince, I can tell you that!

I thought the same thing, but I guess highway RPMs would have been too high on the 4 speed so they just used what they had for the 6cyls I guess.

It’s too bad that in order to make the hydraulic clutch system more manageable , extensive disassembly . A later year bell housing that mounts to this transmission would have to be sought for the purpose of mounting an external clutch slave . Not wishing to put you through that much work now since this is your only driver at the moment . The XJ and MJ body just doesn’t allow for a manual clutch linkage conversion . I was lucky that my ‘80 CJ was able to convert from its old Girling ( uk ) clutch master and slave cylinders to an eBay complete kit . Happy that you got it working . It you’ve any thoughts if converting the system in the future , that’s for another day , another video . We just wonder , would you have any thoughts of any future changes to this Jeep , or just keep it original as it’s worth is highest that way .

dont use brake clean on wires they can melt, use contact cleaner or electrical cleaner.

Do I have to bleed the clutch after replaced the clutch cylinder or use pedal to pumping ? Thanks

Ideally the clutch fluid should be flushed and bleed, but I only did pedal pumping in this video because I didn't want to risk breaking the bleeder screw.

It was made during Renault's ten year, you actually expect them to make it easily repairable?
