Thanks for the tip using a slow impact on the parking brake cable. Saved my day!

slide a small box end wrench over the cable and press down on the backing plate will close all those fingers/tabs on the parking brake cable ends makes it much easier to remove

You need to get some evaporust! Let those bad parts soak for a day and the rust will be gone and look like new. I been using it for a while for Jeep stuff. It works better than anything else I've tried by far.

Very cool seeing some of the differences with the mj. The foot pedal parking brake setup is interesting.

You can stick a box end wrench over the fingers of the broken cable sheath to pinch all of them in to extract the cable sheath from the bracket. Same can be done for the parking brake end at the backing plate.

when i bought my xj with 200k miles that what my drums looked like. Except everything was cannon balled and i didn’t know what was brake material and a broken spring

Nice. On the lastest inspection my parking brake was pulling less on the right side, but the pedal was fine for both sides. What can cause that?

Could be a stretched cable or the star adjustment is just a little bit out on one side

Hell, for the money you spent on those brakes, you could have bought an Explorer 8.8 with disc brakes,4:10 gears, and a posi track differential.😂😂
