Enduro Joint Bushing Rebuild on Jeep XJ
Great video and instructions 😅
Thanks so much for this video! I was able to find my issue ... bad butt joint connectors going to the fan. Maybe leftover from a previous repair attempt. -- good luck to all!
And you know what’s crazy is I have that same piece of tape on my ignition coil too. Do you think it was a stock thing they did?
It's possible. Renix had duct tape ground splices from factory 🤣
I just wanna add a comment and say you’re the realist person on CZcams😂😂😂😂
Once upon a time, I could pull an XJ tranny in 45 minutes.
Can you tell me why water would be coming between the engine and transmission dripping down I had new freeze plugs put in and the guy said that's another problem but he wouldn't tell me why and what what the problem is is there a freeze plugs on the backside of a motor I have a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo V6
I believe there is another freeze plug on the back of the head, so it could be that, or maybe the head gasket.
What an incredible expo I probably would have tried doing this gotten frustrated and started looking at wrecking yards! Thanks for being thorough.
What was the symptoms again? Marbles? Kinda like clunking when accel/decel?
Yeah, had a bit of a marble sound at times. Don't recall much clunking from this, but jeeps aren't exactly quiet either.
Excellent
Gun oil Just two drops. In with the regular oil. 😁
I'm going to hit you up on FB on this. The difference is the "newer" style can draw coolant back into the system which is technically open as it just has a cap on the reservoir, while the "older" unit actually screws on and pressurizes. Thus the "newer" is like todays tire pressure monitor systems for those who do not check their turn signals, oil, power steering fluid and coolant often enough in my opinion. Meanwhile both styles use pretty much the have same cooling surface, fan clutch and water pump. I am not an engineer, but there are those who will increase coolant capacity, air flow rate and water flow rate to make things better. Logic point, if your pressure or reservoir is discolored, it's due to lack of maintenance or someone threw in "sealants" that might be gunking up the block besides the heater core. Then one will need to throw in some "cleaner" in hope to dissolve and clear the gunk out. So only in an emergency would I ever throw in an egg, pepper or "AlumaSeal" into the cooling system while in the backwoods. Other than that I'd rather call a tow truck where my insurance can cover it.
So far the ONLY tutorial anywhere I’ve found that actually shows all of the steps
So Hot (pressure) goes to bottom and cold (return) goes to the top?
Good Job buddy!
Thank you, fixed mine. Had to remove the smal part with contact plate and clean that so it moved as intended. Was a spring there to.
Im doing a aw4 conversion into my 01 tj now.can you run paddle shifters with this
Not with the JR, it has to be a 4 way stick or separate gear buttons
@@NickInTimeFilms Im pipe dreaming abit with paddle shifters.for the old jeep.im just wanting to get it working and stable.im in australia.the 32r would be easier.but the aw4 is just a better trans.
Liked for dodad fuckery.
That jeep wouldn’t have gotten stuck. It would have broke before hitting the hole lmao. 😊
Hey man kind of off topic. I need some serious help. I did the stroker kit on my 90 jeep xj. After I saw you do it and it’s ran great, until a couple months ago. Was wondering if you had any issues with your engine backfiring or eating up the distributor?
would this be a good solution for swapping an Aw4 into my 03 Wj? Are the TCM connectors the same?
This only gives manual control over the AW4 so you'll still need to swap in a TCU if you want auto shifting.
Thanks Nick. Very amusing, but it helped to rule out starter relay and NSS. In our case it was the actual ignition switch that was loosened by bubba for some reason.
Just flushed a rusty mess! Replacing straight water (1 year of only water) to finally the recommended coolant, antifreeze, 50/50 peak radiator fliud for a 1995 Jeep cherokee 2.5 L. 4wd 2dr, having 158k. My question is check engine light now pops up after a few miles of driving. I turn it off then back on and the light stays off till couple miles more, whats up with that? Cant take it in to the shop
Look up how to read the blink codes for OBD1 and it will tell you what is wrong
Nice job.....can I ask....did the tapping get any less when the engine was fully warmed up.
Is the green XJ running the factory Dana 30 in the front ? If so, what gears and locker ?
where does the vacuum line originate from ?I have a 1997 that did not have the valve so I put one in but can not find the vacuum line
The vacuum line comes from the the firewall next to the vacuum input, which is controlled by the hvac switch in the dash. The newer jeeps got rid of the heater control valve, and so did I after this cheap crap melted on me.
i need to do something like this for my 01
Is that snorkel attached to anything ?
Ofcourse! Got a whole install video on it
@@NickInTimeFilms sweet
thanks for the video, I could not for the life of me figure it out lol
Dude!!! My A/C is not blowing cold so I took it to a friend that has a high speed servicing machine. Long story short, he noticed there were no schrader valves in the servicing port and said I needed to get it looked at by an actual automotive A/C guy. I watched this video thinking I needed to start ordering parts. Fast forward to 20:30 of this video and VIOLA!!!! I coulda had a V8! We never opened those little valves so it could be serviced!!! I'll update once my buddy gets back in town and we service it! You MAY have just saved me tons of cash! Thank you so much!

How has this locker held up over time? Any issues ?
Hi, Do 2.5s not have a WOT switch?
Only the Wrangler 2.5L has a WOT switch.
@@NickInTimeFilmsthanks, was really confused looking for one! I have an 87 2.5.
@@NickInTimeFilmsalso I could not find the TAC sensor ANYWHERE and going crazy. saw two vacuum ports on the intake tube above the TB in your video… mine was on the floor so I didn’t even look lol.
Where did you get that cup holder ?
Do you still sell this?

Saw a lil brown on the end of your shaft. 😂
😊😊
I haven’t seen this video in years but I still crack up every time I watch it, I love this guy!! 😂
15:01 "got the top bolt threaded in" I would have to pull my engine to thread that bolt in. I think I'ii have to go in the opposite side and put a nut on the end
Wish you could have got more shots of the purple 2door, I love that color and the 2 doors lol
He was so fast up the trail there wasn't much to film 🤣. Part 3 he gets a bit more screen time though
You can do all of this with less work for like $30.... The AW4 is one of the simplest electronically controlled automatic transmissions out there. It has 3 solenoids (1-2,3-4, and converter lockup) that you can hook to 3 normal toggle switches either as jumpers allowing normal operation still or as the sole power source for complete manual control for off road use, and this has to have those switches anyway so its not like it provides a cleaner install potential. There is multiple videos online showing how to do all of this without any of this silly extra shit to pay for, and if you can handle wiring this up you can handle doing it without a module, as it is literally easier and more simplistic than this, and the wiring diagrams are readily available online. Also the AW4 already has engine braking in every shifter selection except drive, especially if you're in low range, which if you're descending a steep offroad hill you already should be.
Hola. Por casualidad alguno no sabra que medida son los dos tornillos que entran para sacarlo con el extractor?
Where did you get those cup holders??
Got it off quadratec. It's a factory "type B" cupholder that attached there. It's not super big, but it's better than nothing
Well, found this vid, and gave it a go. $30 for new brushes/holder assembly vs $200 for a rebuilt drop in starter. No brainer. Pulled, cleaned, painted, reassembled in 3hrs ... Mostly spent watching paint, and Varsol dry. Fired up like new, not like the sad state of the last few weeks. Weak, worn out,
What belt size do you have?
