    Does the rotor has play after you remove the tire? I have a suburban 05 and has 2 piston on caliper, one works the other doesn't .should I replace caliper, tried to get it lose but still only one piston works . I brake and steering goes to the right so I know it has to be the same one I'm talking about. The pad I guess it stays lose and makes noise on any little bump. So, should I replace the caliper?

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  Před 10 lety

      Thank you for watching! When the tires off there is nothing bolting the rotor down so it can have play. If only 1 piston is working then your going to want to replace the caliper.

    I was thinking "geez, if I'm not bending the backing plate to access the 5mm bolt and I'm taking the entire brakes apart, I may as well spend 12 bucks and have the rotors turned and put new pads on as well." Then I see you guys put new rotors and pads on anyway. LOL
    If it's not a rusted mess, I cheat and make space between the rotor and backing plate to slip the 5mm socket down there to remove the sensor. But if it's a stubborn mess, you gotta go full monte and disassemble the entire deal.

    I bought and replaced a pair of these sensors from 1A Auto. The initial problem I had was that my traction control would engage under normal driving conditions and typically from a dead stop. I found a lot of posts claiming that the cause for this was bad sensors. After replacing both sensors, the original problem has been solved, however now my ABS and service brake system lights are coming on, and the brakes go into anti-lock mode while I'm driving, typically when slowing down or making a left hand turn. Are there rear wheel ABS sensors too? Do I need to reset something once the new sensors are in?

    I just replaced both abs sensor today but the abs light still on. I already replaced the abs module about 2 years ago it did make the abs light go away. Any suggestions please ?

      +Chio Saeteurn We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. It could be the sensors or the module causing the issue. Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com

    I don't understand why so much grease is provided if it is just to lubricate the oring on the sensor.

    So I did this on my 06 Silverado and after I was don the ABS light came on. Is this normal and how do I reset it?

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  Před 6 lety +1

      +Mike Junk You may check to make sure that the ABS wire didn't get pinched or damaged on anything. You may want to also check the ABS wire connection and maybe clean it to make sure that oil or a contaminate didn't get on it, we have see this trigger an ABS light on occasion. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com

      Assuming everything else is in order, disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes.

    looks like a pretty easy job and while you're at it if you need to I would say just go ahead and put new brake pads and if your truck's old enough do a little bit of preventive maintenance and replace the caliper hoses as well.

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  Před 4 lety +1

      +Ruben Castillo If the sensor was the problem it will clear itself as soon as you start moving and the system runs its testing cycles. That is because the ABS runs testing continuously to detect any faults. If the sensor was not the faulty item the light will stay on.

    Why didn't you clean off the base where the sensor sits your the only mechanic that didn't clean the surface, and why did you take the caliper off the way you did unless you were doing shoes too, just wondering.
