I'm in your house.
FINALLY!
It’s the guy! Please do a studio tour as well Mr. Goober. 🙏
He REFUSES to visit me. Say's I'm not worthy.
@@TavernsnWyverns Yes!! Signing the petition for this as I type.
@@BlackMagicCraftOfficial that is the reason…he has to be summoned and appears. Visiting doesn’t work.
I absolutely love seeing people’s crafting spaces and yours has come a long way from the last tour with the custom TTRPG table. Out of everything I think the shelf space is the most impressive. Lol
Black Magic Organization! Thanks for the cool behind the scenes peek. It has been great watching your progress over the years 👍🏻
When BMC's "small space" is bigger than your apartment :')
I couldn’t live in a tiny apartment
@@BlackMagicCraftOfficialYou definitely couldn’t live in Tokyo! I’m jealous of all that space!
I’m guessing New York resident?
Apartment! Luxury!
Thanks for putting this together, I have been following for a long time. Love the old school terrain builds.
Dude! DragonStrike is what got me obsessed with *gestures at all the little nerdy things*
I found a copy of it in pretty decent shape on eBay, it too will be displayed in my studio once it's ready.
I'm sat here in my 10-12ft square box back room where I do everything being jelly of your massive amount of space!😅
It looks great though, you've really cultivated an aesthetic over the years man
#britishproblems
I could never live like that. Laundry machines in the kitchen.
Madness!
@@BlackMagicCraftOfficialThe fact you said "machines" made me laugh, we Europeans definitely live in waay smaller spaces. Sick setup btw!
@@BlackMagicCraftOfficial you should see how teeny some of the rooms are - not even in cities!
This was amazing! Just bought a house a month ago and I can't wait to build out my crafting space. Thank you, I am definitely going to use some of these ideas.
I really need to do a similar video for my channel. It's honestly super good to see your setup and to also know that I'm not the only one that has a small space optimized for both "hobby" as well as "youtube studio". I'd love a much larger area to record in.. but.. you make use of what you have :)
Thanks for the walkaround! Always interesting to see peoples setups. Keep up the good work mate
Im so jealous. Just moved house across country and had to leave my lovely shop of 12 years behind.
Hopefully soon I will be able to find space to set up again.
Always inspiring watching the Master's working space! Thanks for sharing this with us, buddy :)
Long time fan here- It’s so cool to have watched the evolution of your crafting and editing over the years. So now to see how you’ve invested in your space and process along the way is great!! And of course, rad to see how you incorporate your style into every element of your work! ✌️
Can you please make a video showing how you use your Cricut? I feel like I've watched every video of yours, and I had no idea you use a Cricut.
I second this. My wife has one she doesn’t use and if I see how to use it I might…commandeer it.
@@TavernsnWyverns I have one I never use bc I hate dealing with technology. Maybe I'll change my tune...
@@queencityminis They try and get you to buy templates and patterns but it’s not necessary. After a quick bit of research I just realized you can use 2mm chip board in a Cricut which means I can print/cut my own window inserts similar to Shiftinglands!
Probably the Neatest Hobby Area I've ever seen!
When you have so much stuff, do you go through the phase of 'I have to use what I have' or do you still find yourself needing more or something else for a new project?
I always seem to need something new! I wish my craft space was as big as yours! 👏👏👏
DUDE this is sick!
It's awesome to see where the magic happens!
You must be calling this work space "small" in jest. Very nice crafting studio! Living in Vancouver, I wish I could enjoy such luxury.
It’s small for the amount of stuff I need to do in it. If it was just a hobby room it would be big. But mostly calling it small is clickbait.
That all in one desk thing looks SO sick. Been noodling in my head about a setup like that and it's really sick to see it in action.
I like that cutting mat idea! Thx!
Thanks for sharing this! I've been searching for a similar solution for the desk mounted "cage" setup you have for filming. Any chance of sharing some of the links to that equipment?
BMC! It's been a while since I've gotten the chance to see one of your videos and I gotta say your space has gotten so epic!! I just wanted to pop in and say thank you for the awesome tour, it's really cool to see how other miniature hobbyists do their thang, and I love that you have the tapestry over your one shelf, but you mentioned being annoyed by it. If you buy some clip-on curtain hangers and screw a small pipe or rod in the ceiling, as long as it doesn't interfere with your accessibility of your hotwire tool, I bet it would be a great solution. Just toss that tapestry open when you're crafting, no need to keep opening and closing doors 👍
Missed seeing you! Can't wait to watch all the backlog 😊
I am SO jealous of all that space!!!! I do everything from my bedroom and it isn’t even a big room TToTT I have too many interests for such a tiny space mannn
"Small space" is nearly twice the size of my master bedroom, and as large or slightly larger than my whole living room. But good on you, brother, for having a great hobby space.
For sure I enjoyed to watch tour videos. Always nice videos...thanks for share
I used to play that intellivision game ALL the time! Still have it too, along with my original intellivision that still works!
Thanks for the tour of your 'private' space, it really is appreciated that you let us further into your life and hobby that we enjoy watching you do. It is a very envious space you have created...
Also love the Squidmar Evolution 2024 CRPlus airbrush, I splashed out on the same one, don't regret that purchase in the slightest.
Hey I've been in there! love the lighting/camera rigging set up.
Thanks for sharing. Cool studio. Love it.
That rig over the table is so cool👏👏👏
I remember the vids from years back of you making the spray booth, doing up the room, etc. It looks excellent now.
Wow! So organized and professional. You've clearly put a lot of work into your space. Thanks for sharing, tons of inspiration here.
I really admire the vintage D&D stuff. It’s in great condition, as well. Kudos!
It looks like a lot of work went into creating that room. Appreciate all the video's you make for the hobby.
Thanks for the inspiration from this video! I'm working with the space I have, but I'm my own worst enemy when it comes to getting organized and having too much stuff!
Plus I'm crazy and run a non-hobby related online business from my condo home! 😮
I'm looking forward to flipping the switch on my own CZcams channel this Spring! We will then see where that journey takes me.
Love that space and loved the tour.
You really have made the best out of a limited space. I think I might need more shelves for my own space. Thanks for sharing yours.
Thanks for showing all the lights and rigging!
Really cool space. It looks amazing and very well thought out. Must be nice to craft there with so much space.
I'm 3 minutes into this video and already dying because gawd damn this is the dream.
eta: That camera/lighting rig!? UGH the jealously I have right now.
This is such a cool behind the scenes look at your creative space. Thank you for sharing!
Glad to see Jeremy continuing to feel happy, confident, and motivated! 😊
Awesome tour! Wish I had a space like this... hoping to build up to it over time!
Wicked, wicked wonderful craft space. I especially love your games, I remember Dragon Strike, and Dungeon my big bro and I use to play that for hours, I always wanted the Dungeons and Dragons game for intellivision (my first home video game system growing up), Your space definitely keeps the crafting magic at 10 👍🏿👍🏿
Hahah! Intelivision….I begged for that console to my parents just for that game. I got the RadioShack knock off, didn’t care, it worked. Nice space, well used. Been a long time fan and you Scott, Jay, Brent are some of my most inspiring creator that made me become a creator for 3D printed terrain. Thank you.
Dude, you are so organized, it’s awe-inspiring.
Love the video. Fun seeing Mel’s book, as well as the Osprey games.
Loved getting a look at your crafting space. Really interesting.
my dude this is not a small space 😝
I appreciate the tour! Always great to see what you're up to🤘
Built it in the garage. All this time I'm thinking your wife sent you to the basement. I've been told most homes in the colder, upper middle of N. America and Canada had basements, and the lack of windows in the background. Thank you for all the videos over the years. I started with your longboat episode when it first came out, and actually bought the plans and built one. Thanks again.
I've been wanting to move the studio to the basement, but that's a very expensive project. One day hopefully.
Ignore me while I spend the next couple of hours enviously salivating.
Really nice studio, feels like a kid in the candy store. I have the same HS-monitors, they sound good.
Nice set up, it has changed quite a bit since the last time you did a tour
AD&D: Treasures of Tarmin was my favorite Intellivision game when I was a kid! Awesome find, man!
No equipments links on description... Why?
I was looking for some lights but I discovered even more things in this video.
Nice space dude. ❤
So I was painting up some larger 11x11 tiles for Frostgrave with your modpodge stuff. I got some foam that was labeled as XPS foam that clearly wasn’t on Amazon. It’s pretty sturdy, and I decide to just use it. Everything is going pretty well I measure out the grid, etc. I start painting and I happened to hold the tile up high and I notice a that I can see light through where I missed. This is pretty useful because it helps me see all the little tiny spots I missed. However about 30% to 50% of of the grooves in between each 1” square is showing light coming through. This makes me think I clearly need to get more modpodge deep in the cracks. Is getting the blend deep in the cracks to cover every bit needed?
The fist video I saw of you, I taught you had a hobby shop. You have so many rule and D&D books
This is super helpful and interesting! Thanks for sharing your set up!
I wonder if instead of putting doors behind the idols of torment banner you could attach some curtain loops and a curtain rail above it then you could just slide it to the side easily
Your Studio looks amazing 🙌
thanks! I'm setting up a space and this is very helpful!
So j3iious🎉 Jeremy played MTG!
I wish I had a space that big to work with lol. Looks great!!! Love the setup. 🙂
DragonStrike has a fantastic companion VHS that came with the game.
Very cool! Thanks for aharing this!
Cool tour! Thanks for showing us around!
Thanks for sharing. I thought I remembered you liked mtg from a previous video. What format do/did you play? I think it would be cool to see you do a mtg inspired craft that combine the hobbies.
Great set up! Have you thought about adding a little lighting into the shelves for minis, etc...?
I recently started using one of my spare rooms as a hobby workshop, and this video makes me want to tear everything apart and reorganise it. I'm definitely not using my space well.
I just noticed that Out of Season sticker in your spray booth. Nice!
Very nice. I, too, am working on my crafting space.
Hobby space goals
Yay studio tour!
That desk rig is very impressive indeed!
Awesome! Thanks for the tour
thats a great set up and my brother in law still has a couple intellivsion d&d games
might mooch that pc desk idea, ive been looking for one for ages and havent found any suitable for my screens and space
I wanted to see how many of the reaper models you have painted from the kickstarter wave you got a few years back 😂
Making me feel real.old calling my Ad&d books I use vintage. Now I feel really old.
Question: What make / brand / model ist that desk rig? I've been looking for something like it for ages, especially something that clamps on to the desk and allows for a horizontal bar over the desk where I could mount nice lighting to. All I've found are really wimpy, cheap-looking desk-clamp light stand thingys. I'm quite possibly just missing the correct search term to find what I'm looking for, but for the live of me I can't find that word.
Also, great video, and thank you for all you're doing! Love the builds and techniques, and the studio tour is cool to see every couple of years.
you ever miss having a garage? were in ottawa, and while it doesnt get as bad here as it does there, not having to scrape the car every day is a gamechanger
Yea, I certainly wish I had a garage in winter.
Idea for the banner.
A hanging rod that is hinged at one end and magnetic to the wall at the other.
The length and weight might need a guy wire from the hinge corner to the end of the hangar rod.
Anyway, that would turn the banner into a door.
Nice video man! :) An idea: why not mount the Idols of Torment baner on an IKEA curtain-rod, so you just can slide it to the side?
I’m on it!
Awesome video! I do remember a few months ago you had mentioned how you wanted to utilize your spray booth's vent as a dual purposed one for future 3d Printing as well. Is that something that wasn't mentioned in the video? Were you able to make some kind of venting system for your resin printers? Love the entire setup, for fun if you could place a price tag on the the entire build alone for the actual setup of the room with equipment, including lighting, what range would you say it is?
I just disconnect the vent from the booth and run the vent fan full blast when printing. It’s strong enough to vent the whole room when there is no filter on it.
DLB is pretty fun. It also can be played solo.
Awesome! It’s been awhile since we saw the space!
Can you tell me more about the rig you hang stuff on? I’m not a youtuber so no need for me to hang cameras or microphones but I’ve been following a few creators that use lights in their d&d games and i’d love to incorporate them myself. Everything ive seen commercially for lights looks massive or is on tripods. The ceiling seems like a better options for not having my players knock them around.
Any advice for newbies on hanging light bars on the ceiling?
There is definitely a hidden room behind those shelves, trying to figure out which book or model has to be pulled to access it!
It seems a little absurd to have a monitor that size hooked to a MacMini, but this is Black Magic, so...
Eidt 4:05 I actually groaned out loud in jealousy when you opened that "favourite drawer"...
Also, I love the work desk. Always nice to see a developed space - you know that it works. Have you ever done a collab with Adam "North of the Border"?
It’s actually a Mac Studio
@@BlackMagicCraftOfficial So small!
The Out of Season sticker goes hard. Black Magic Synth album when?
Very soon!…
Hey! I've been following your work for a long time now, it's amazing. Do u feel "obligated" or pushed to use terrain or miniatures on your games? Do u still run or play narrative based games where u don't necessarily need terrain or stuff? Good vibes from Argentina!
It's taking all that I have to convince myself I don't need all of this 😂
Is there a recommendation you could give to a website/youtube channel to help understand getting into the production side of things for beginners? Such as lighting, cameras, basic software used to create a channel?
Treasure of Tarmin - totally had that for my Intellivision as a kid
My shop is bigger yet seems so much smaller due to how you have things organized. I need to get my $#!T together. Great video J.
Amazing setup man!
I had thata Intelivision D&D game. I spent so much time playing it.
Side note.. Steady the camera more when panning. I'm not one to get nauseated by it, but some people would.. Also we can't really see when you pan that quickly. I dunno if you're holding the camera with just your hand (whether it's a phone?) or not, but if it's a phone, they have some kind of camera rig that you can buy and it holds the phone and steadies the camera to prevent sudden movements.
Other than that, I like the practicality of everything I could see in the studio. The camera/light rig on the desk is great. The studio feels very lived in. Also, seeing paint on the Fiskars mats is mildly painful but understandable lol. I've never seen them used in any application other than cutting fabric (mom's a quilter). I'm trying to find the motivation to get my office cleaned up and set up for crafts like this, personally.
8:24 If you can afford the extra space taken up, I'd just buy a third table that way you never have to touch your recording rig to play games. :)
10:38 Casual Stargate props(?) :D
I have a third table in the basement.
For someone just starting out, would you suggest hanging black fabric to cover the white walls for light control in our workshop room?
4:09 That paint bottle storage is so cool and the organisation by colour is so visually satisfying, are the paints ok being stroaged upside down? I.e. no spills/blockage?
My theory is that they are less likely to clog like that.
@@BlackMagicCraftOfficial I like your logic, thank you!
I was wondering what sort of sound damping you used. Some creators go with acoustic tiles on hard surfaces but your shelves and stuff on them seem to absorb sound pretty darn well despite you not having carpet or rugs on the floor and what looks like a hard flat ceiling.
Don't use anything, just try to use good microphones.
