RIP Rik, you really rocked that bass. But hats off to Brian May for murdering his own guitar riff (for those that weren't aware, Brian May not only played the guitars on the track but also produced it)
Well who can you laugh about if you can't laugh about yourself? Brian May was a good sport here. I can imagine him going "Right, now to butcher what is my best known solo..."

Actually Adrian Edmondson played most of the guitar, and May actually said in an interview that they spent so long rehersing this song that the whole band found it difficult to actually play the instruments badly. Mays guitar playing on the song was minimal compared to Ades.

I totally farkin pissed meself laughing when I first heard this about 20 years ago. :-) I lost the plot when I heard "Vyv's" bum notes. I made all my friends listen to it. :-) Only 69,000 views? Spread the word. Incidentally, is that a Model 5 Charvel? If so, I had one exactly the same (top-mounted Kahler and all), but it looks like he might've had the 3rd knob changed to a switch, possibly because the push/pull knob was tricky to use really quickly when playing live; just a guess. I busted mine when I dropped it in the car park after a gig when I was pissed. It was in a really shitty soft case and it slipped off my shoulder, cracking the headstock in half. :-) I gave it to a friend who was gunna get it fixed for him to use, but it got stolen from the luthier's workshop. Rock and roll, hey? :-) I hope someone's using it. Ha ha.
I used to mishear that lyric even in the Queen version as a boy! At my school there was a Miss Miller on the staff who was a severe older lady who was responsible for supervising mid-morning breaks and used to suddenly come out of the lunch hall and oblige the first kid she set eyes on to put out all the chairs in the lunch hall. One time she caught me and called out: 'Do you want to do the chairs?' and when I said 'No, thank you!' she furiously piped 'You do as you're told, young man!' Ever since then, I associated the song with her. She would not let me go!
