British deadpan humour is the best. I’ve never watched a parody comedy with such a high concentration of brilliantly delivered one liners as this.

Rik always played quite unglamorous and sometimes grotesque characters ……but actually he was so handsome……and of course we all know genius level funny ❤
Agreed. He was a brilliant comedic actor and such a cool looking dude. I love him in Drop Dead Fred; a film I rarely hear mentioned. That's how I discovered him and I still love the movie today.

Bad news got released about two months before spinal tap. Beautifully filmed in a gritty dingy way.
It's actually funnier than Spinal Tap IMHO.....which is saying something as Spinal Tap is great.
Miles better than Spinal Tap.

this is awesome. I always mention bad news to people and they have no clue what i'm talking about. People remember spinal tap but bad news never get any love.
I,ve got a new lad at work who,s in his 30,s & he said he loves watching the young ones,he,s never heard of the comic strip,so I,ve told him to watch this one first,absolute classic,funny as fuck.😂😂

Classic Comedy from some of The Masters...ch4 Comic Strip was Brilliant in its day,Still Is in '23!!!... Seeing "The Young Ones" as a band,even playing Donnington Monsters of Rock festival aswell,albeit badly,is Excellent!💯💯💯👍✌

i met Adrian Edmondson just before Christmas last year ! absolutely lovely guy ! i said to him thanks for all the laughs and ive followed your career for years and his work . he was very nice to talk to... i had a nice photo taken with him ...
I don't remember how old I was when I watched this. I'd completely forgotten about it, but now that I've rediscovered it, I've realised that I know all the words. Incredibly funny. Don't know how I could've completely forgotten about it!!😂🤣

If I were forced to pick one comedy that defined what I found funny in my teens, it’s this. The Young Ones was formative and anarchic - and planted the seed of going to University - but this made me cry with laughter. In my humble opinion, much funnier than spinal tap, as was the second one. Shit, we were so lucky to have such incredible, ballsy, smart, sharp and idiotic writers and actors doing this stuff when we were young.
