- Final scene on the second Comic Strip Presents - 'More Bad News'.
The band take to the stage live at the Monsters of Rock festival, Castle Donington.
Funny as hell classic british comedy hilarious - Komedie
I was there as a young 22 year old, back then Donington was affordable to everyone 😊
I watched this religiously for years and never laugh so hard in my entire life at anything since, this last scene was so pissy funny I couldn’t breathe from laughing so hard. The comic strip were absolute geniuses.
'...so he blew himself up'. LOL!!
@@therussellgilbert Hahaha! Classic!
Yes.
Ahhh, Donington. The noise, the crowds, the seemingly endless bottles of lukewarm piss hurtling through the air.
Good times.
@@datrenarakiel8202 Sad times aha! I hope you had fun otherwise 😜🤘🔥
donnington 84 the "battle of the piss" inbetween van halen ozzy & AC/DC we lost some good men to Urine that day :P
indeed
really! omfg...that sounds fkng AMAZING!!!!@@mcfcguvnors
I would say 91 Metallica was the best bottle fight I ever saw but my memory isn’t working as I got the idea in my head they covered anarchy in the U.K. (they didn’t).
It was probably whiplash which was towards the back end of the set.Either way,at times the sky was like that scene in 300 where the arrows are incoming
Enjoy cause this shit will never happen again on british TV, RIP RIK MAYALL and Lemmy....gone but never to be forgotten
Indeed. The woke leftie fuckwits ruin everything
@MR MISTER Same my Dad brought me up on The Young Ones and Bottom, Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson are comic legends! Later discovered Bad News through my friend Jarrett in High School year 7 who had them on an MP3 player, I loved it! Listening to Bad News on vinyl with my Dad at the moment, good times 🔥🙌👏👊🤘💖🔥
& tommy vance 😞
I laughed tears the first time I saw this. Hilarious. Especially the "I am the reincarnation of Jimi Hendrix bow down and worship me" bit!
R.I.P. Rik Mayall!
Back when Donington was awesome!
Now they have Taylor Swift 🤦♂️
Criminally underrated band.
Pretty political
1986 Donington you dont get gigs like that these days . Bloody brilliant.
I caught them at Donnington and then at Reading the next year. Thank god the 80s eventually ended in 1997..
Bring it back! f the future it sux lol
@@jannneumann5766
Being a metal fan and musician for my whole life...why am I just seeing this now?
F'ing brilliant!
You need to find the entire movie.
I still have the mock Donnington Bad news patch I wore on My studded Levis vest in grade seven, RIP drop dead fred...
Den Dennis is an inspiration to us all. He remains optimistic even when he's taken a proper kicking and he's laid up in the hospital.
Hilarious, also fair play to the actors they had the balls to actually turn up and play Donington monsters of rock, I can’t barely believe this they actually ahem cough played, not sure most of the attending crowd got the joke, not quite Spinal Tap
Comic strip was legendary!🙌🏻
The fact the guys performed in front of thousands of people is mental!
The amount of bangers who took this seriously and not a pisstake is more mental!!
You've got to have epic self confidence to go in front of that crowd, in character, and do your thing.
GOLD. RIP (P)RIK MAYAL. THE PEOPLES POET.
did you know is favourite colour is blue
House, House, House! Oh But your are made of stone, but you are not alone(ly) house. Does it get better than that?
I was there! I was somewhere in the background of those interviews courtesy of a guest pass from the Friday Rock Show🤟
Absolutely love Bad News best metal bad (n)ever, I always hoped there would one day be a second reunion episode but it was never to be ( RIP Rik you legend) I still watch this regularly never get bored of it . Although I often wonder how many in the crowd thought they were a real band ? Plus of course this was the original line up of the Young Ones.
It's like heavy metal Sheena Easton
Bad news, hahahaha scheister.
Nice to see lemmy holding back.
😂🤣
When it was the proper Monsters of rock, not the shambles there now.
Ade looks genuinely nervous before getting on stage, and that was a smile of pure elation probably from being on the biggest stage in the world.
Fucking brilliant still after so many years!
OUST STANDING IN THEIR FEILD !!!
AND IT TOOK SOME FUKKING BALLS TO STEP IN THAT STAGE FOR A JOKE !!
THEY COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED !!!
Metal heads can take a joke ...sometimes.
Still makes me cry with laughter even after all these years, absolute, bloody genius !!
Just Gold !!!! Brilliant
Vyv will always be "VERY METAL"
.............this is proof
They played the young ones on MTV every Sunday night back in the 80s in the USA. It was the highlight of my week as a kid. Vivian was a moral beacon for me.
@@royalorphanmetalI went as him for Halloween.
Probably the funniest thing about this video is 0:52 with the name mix ups.
I was really pleased to see Phil Collins of Deaf Leopard offering his views a few minutes later. All it needed was Phil Carlin, formerly of Genesis, to have similarly joined in and my viewing pleaseure would have been complete.
yes I twigged that too. Genuine error or subtle joke.
I was there fucking brilliant 👏
I am the reincarnation of Jimi Hendrix, lol.
IF YOU HAVE CHANGED THE SHAPE OF MY NOSE IN ANY WAY, ALAN METCALFE!
They’re still going they just changed their name to Steel Panther.
Def Lepard, criticising anyone. Ha.
I'd love to find a great high resolution video of the whole concert.
My first ever Monters of Rock , great days
11/10 the announcer wearing a London Ravens helmet!
Tommy Vance
@@geoffbanton4049RIP
@@geoffbanton4049 Legend! Friday Rock Show introduced me and countless others to so many NWOBHM & older bands who we would never hear otherwise. They sure as shit were not playing heavy rock on daytime radio in the UK unless it was actually in the charts at the time.
Wish I could find the original! I remember finding this years ago, and living it! Being a fan of the young ones that played on MTV in the late 80's .
May be on channel 4 on demand 4od.???
Joe Elliot was always a prick, i mean Fish 😂
Just love it🤗🥰🤘
Hysterical!
The funny part was that some of those other Heavy Metal bands thought Bad News were genuine and not a Satirical Piss Take...
Pretty sure they all knew them from the young ones, particularly lemmy.
"'Vim Fuego'! What kind of name is that?!?"
A great one for the comedy apsect : )
Aspect even hehe
Don’t forget Spider Webb 😂
It was hilarious as at that time vim was a kitchen/bathroom cleaner and fuego was a renault car.
I would absolutely say yes to any minutes to be on stage at castle donnigton.aging bass player 🎵🎵🎵🌈❤
LEMMY: Best Face Hair!
This is so true
I was there 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤘🤘
Warlock rocked that show🤟
Watching in cambodia 🇰🇭 2024
classic psml never gets old
Absolutely hilarious
3:00 is priceless!!!
Riks comedy fall around 3 mins ,typical :D
Gold
I was at this gig 😂
I was there. It was funny for a rew minutes.
How long did they actually play for? I always assumed they must have just played that one song for the TV show.
@@burtbackattack czcams.com/video/3MIXW6N0c7c/video.html
@@burtbackattackI'd imagine not long. Adrian gets pelted with an apple before they even start playing in this clip lol.
Yes i can't believe i was there great days .
Barry Manilow punched a cut out of Bad News in 89.
A great day, from what I can remember.
"But; there ya Go!" 😅
He had great ibanez guitar he changed it so it wouldn't get wrecked
"Heavy Metal Sheena Easten" brilliant!
Still better than bon Jovi 🤮
The best band on that bill!
You on wacky baccy? They were fucking awful
what will the world do without Vim Fuego?
So funny to hear members of Deaf Leopard calling another band shit ....🤣🤣🤣
You're dead right- the irony eh? 😆
I always hated Def Leppard, they were always so generic to me.
How many albums have you sold?
@mr.brenman2132 how many albums has cliff richard sold
@@mr.brenman2132 I saw them in 1980 and thought they were good coz their ' On Through The Night' album sounded like classic NWOBHM. Next stuff I heard by them they had started sounding like shit American poppy rock music I never been bothered about them since lol
i was there.
Lemmy 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great! But queen were at Knebworth, so no contest 😂
Queen played Knebworth the week before.
I was at both gigs
Although the film SPINAL TAP [1984] is seen as the defining mockumentary, BAD NEWS pre dates them by a Year [1983] - although this revisiting of the original episode for MORE BAD NEWS happened in 1987. Always wondered if The Comic Strip brigade got wind of the Spinal Tap film or it was just a happy co-incidence. [By the way I love Spinal Tap too - you need to use Dobly]. And although not linked at all - if you want to see the REAL Spinal Tap / Bad News then look no further than the critically acclaimed rockumentary from 2008 ANVIL: THE STORY OF ANVIL. taster here : czcams.com/video/oTz5Rmb7tgc/video.html
hard to imagine Rick Mayell actually went before that lot of drug addled, alcoholic rockers..!
the song sounds the same as all the others, no better or worse
nigel planer was a right tit in this................ priceless stuff bad news need to make a comeback but with rik mayall gone i dont think it will happen ...........................
Who was actually playing bass, since it obviously wasn’t Colin ( Rik)?
Yes
Is Donnington still going?
Who's Phil Carlin?
Remember when canning a band was a thing.
the song remains the same
Marillion 🙄
Before Bad News there was "Pookiesnackenburger in Hell Bent" (1985) it was a much more affectionate take on 80s metal, with good acting and a plot..
i guess you never watched the young ones then. n9ne of that was the point
Bad News first appeared in 1983. This sequel "More Bad News" arrived in 1987.
Best Band Ever! Well apart from AC/DC!
They had balls id hav to be pist n hi to even hav a go...still id hav a go...drums tho hide behind kit
Better than Spinal Tap by far!
Very true.
Nah ! Enjoyed Bad News but no comparison to Tap the band members of ST were less cartoonish and more believable as they played it more straight
Phil Carlin?
never went nor gived a fuck about it
Ozzy's sycophants giggling at his every moronic statement...if Def Leppard, marillion, motorhead were the 80s future of Rock, God help us all. And you can quote me on that, sure..
You know this is a comedy bit right? Ozzy, Def Leopard, Marillion, and Motorhead were 80's metal. Am I missing your joke?
I was there they were shit, funny now but shit.....
Spinal tap!!
Bad News,scheiser!
It wouldn't surprise me if they went round all those folk and told them to just say the shittest thing about the band to the camera.
That’s exactly what they did. This was a comedy show the whole thing was an act.
Own up you’ve seen worse
Spinal tap eh?
Spinal Tap was brilliant too, but Bad News Predates them by a year. [1983]
Donnington used to be so much fun, not the corporate banal cash cow it is now.
a lot of men in that audience.......just sayin'
Unfunny then, spectacularly unfunny now.
love the crowds at HM concerts, all virgin men who have never had any form of interaction with anything remotely resembling a woman
Wow- you know them all personally and spent all your time around them all- that's quite an accomplishment- I'm impressed 😄
@@gladheads look into the crowds, can you see anything in there with a front bottom? 😂😂 I stand by what I say
@@crozwayneMen happen to have taste. Plenty of women love metal though. Why do you care about men's sexual activity? Are you interested in men? Should they be at the Britney Spears concert with you?
