Simon , what bunch of baloney his argument that United ended up 3 rd in the League proves that Ten Hag was right ! The reason they ended up 3 rd was because of the fact Chelsea and Liverpool and an off season ! Ronaldo and DeGea kept that team alive on numerous occasions! Ronaldo ended up top scorer , only behind Harry Kane and with much less support and game time and at 36 yrs of age! Ronaldo was the one they should have kept for his work ethic, experience , winning mentality and goals ! So he doesn’t press as much as he used to ! So what ? You want your top striker to defend or score goals ? It’s like saying you got Varane to score goals not only defending ! The truth is all the replacements that supposedly were better than Ronaldo , like Anthony and others are not better than him ! Even now at 38 Ronaldo is a top striker ! His numbers again this prove it: 44 goals ! And yeah , after playing for top teams like Real Madrid and Juventus , coming back to an old kitchen where the food with the nutrients necessary for an athlete and a gym without the modern equipment to keep a top team at the top , it must suck ! Ronaldo made a mistake , he followed his heart to return to United instead of his head ! His mistake no doubt ! 😂

If a striker scores in every single game, 70% of his goals would technically be against lesser teams. The greatest ever strikes in the world would always score most of their goals in a season against lesser teams, because statistically that will always be most probably just looking at probability. What is your point?🤦🏼‍♂ The funny thing is most of Ronaldo's goals that year were all match winning, champions league and two hatricks and every single game in the CL was match winning 🤣. Someone get this guy off the TV, he gets it wrong with everything boxing, and football.

He has 858 career goals and has played at the highest level for 20 years. You cant frame the argument as if he is just any other football he is completely unique. Also the criticism of the piers morgan interview and how ronaldo went unchallenged is very ironic considering he had barry mcguigan on his show a few weeks previous and failed to mention the millions of pounds he stole from Carl Frampton. If ten Hag said publicly right at the beginning that he didn’t want Ronaldo, it would’ve meant that Ronaldo would get a larger pay off if he was sold, as he could argue that he wanted to stay. Otherwise, to leave, he would have to put in a transfer request. A player who requests to leave forfeits and loyalty payments due and any contractual severance.
As it was, Ronaldo committed gross misconduct and was fired, but for the best of both parties, a mutual termination was agreed. So he got a reduced severance pay when he left.
