- .........this week's been no exception..... From losing my beloved Auntie to losing my voice and developing a bad back, it's not been the best of weeks but I still managed to style up my new clothes from Faro and take you to see some art and shops! Thank you for your support. Suzi x

We ladies of a certain age don’t want to keep banging on about aches and pains,, but what we must do is to be UNafraid to make requests and adjustments to suit our needs. If I sit in a chair in a restaurant or pub and it hasn’t got arms my back then kills me for days. Now, when I go out, I am brave enough to ask for a chair with arms and…guess what? So far people have always been more than happy to accommodate me,
I am so sorry to hear of your aunts passing, but I am sure that very soon the sadness will be replaced with memories of the happy times you had together!

So sorry learn about Auntie, how lovely you spent time with her and have a recording of your lovely conversations and time spent together. I know exactly what you are saying about Faro and cobbles, I learned my lesson and now always wear trainers, regardless if they look a bit odd. City breaks - 14000 steps in one day, never again, paid the price with sore ankles and calves for days. You need to book yourself in for a relaxing spa break, reading, eating and massages.

Can’t believe you did all that walking in fit flops - no wonder your back’s kna****ed, naughty Suzi!!! You need trainer-style shoes with ‘shock absorber’ soles (like cars have) and you’ll never be in pain again. I’m so sorry for the loss of your Aunt but take comfort that you saw her recently which would have given her so much joy. I’d love a video on how you arrange your travel to/from airports - taxi, tube, train? And how you get from your holiday airport to the resort - would interest a lot of women I think. Take care of that back - at least you’ve moved that ruddy pouffe so the trip hazard is gone (ha ha)!!!! xx
My friend in the States has done exactly the same with proper shock absorber trainers on! Think this is more of a case of us both overdoing the steps! And being a certain age. She did 18k a day, in proper shoes, and I did about 15k in the wrong shoes, both of us have complaining hips and back now. Acupuncture helped me enormously and she's doing the sane. So lesson learned. Less is more! A video on how I arrange my travel could be really boring but i can film that! Lovely idea for content. I always get a cab because I don't live near the station. But I'll do that for you next time. I've seen the Osteo and all is good, just taking it easier. See you ext week. x

So sorry to hear about your auntie. Faro looks fabulous, it's on my list of places to visit. I love the late night shopping in Portugal and Spain. There's a C&A in Funchal but it's always rather dreary. I have a favourite shop called Dona Hortensia that sells really colourful clothes, Parfois is great too. I can't wait to go back in a couple of weeks. I hope your throat is better soon xxx

That is lovely your mum was Bulgarian so you had that European touch to the foods too, my adoptive parents were Polish and I was raised on their natural traditional foods too, never saw fast foods till was in my mid teens as aussie friends at school loved it. It never really impressed me.

Lovely outfits and loved seeing your travel clips. Do hope your back is coming right, I sympathise, did mine in a few weeks ago lifting sacks of compost in and out of my car boot. Physio gave me great exercises to do each day to strengthen the strained muscles in lumbar area. I am similar age and we must take care of ourselves more.

Sad to hear about your auntie, this year my sister's partner died from Covid and he was 97 also. He had been a professional tennis player most of his life and looked and acted like he was 2 decades younger and was so sharp but did not believe in the vaccine or going to the hospital until it was too late. I was really sad and my sister has lots of regrets because she was an anti-vaccine person too. Two days ago I had to put down my sweet cat Dootie after months of treatment and no improvement. Fifteen years of pure love but I still have three 15-year-olds left to focus on. Hope you are feeling better but you rock all the clothes you wear.
Such a sad story , I am so sorry lovely. And pussy cat. I've begged Jack not to leave me this year, I can't take any more grief! It's been such a year for family and he's probably the closest of my whole family! Sure you understand! He's full of energy at the moment so think he's sticking around. x

When I traveled alone I always made lunch my main meal and just had a small casual dinner. That worked for me.
Yes, I do the same. Unfortunately, I had dinner included but I won't do that again! And airbnbs are always a great option if its the type of trip that leaves you time for shopping! Sad about Auntie yes, but so many happy memories and she'll be with my Dad now!± xxx

All our nicer stores here have gotten less and less area to move around while trying to shop. Thank you for continuing to vlog when you’re busy or not feel up to vlogging. I now only buy shoes with the right foot bed from a shoes store. They are acceptable style but not as cute sometimes. Marge in Michigan. USA. Married. 80yo. 3 kids. 3 granddaughters. 6 greatgrans. As much as we want to take nice shoes/sandals to match or our outfits, the only thing to use on sightseeing holidays is proper walking shoes or sandals. I hate the sight of mine but they are supportive, comfortable and after my recent trip to Budapest averaging 20-22k steps per day they are the only that works. Done many solo trips also. I also have the blue/white dress from Zara. It's fabulous.

Oh Suzi, I’m so sorry to hear about your auntie. It’s so hard to loose our loved ones, my thoughts are with you and your family. I’ve trashed my back and my feet so many times by wearing the wrong footwear or no footwear on either cobblestone roads or the sand (we winter in Mexico each year) that I’ve now relented and brought a pair of Ecco sandals to wear when I’m going on long walks. They don’t look as cute as the lovely shoes that you have, but they have made the world of difference for my back and my feet - I have scoliosis of the spine, which gives me sciatic nerve pain, plus I also have plantar fasciitis, so proper footwear is very important for me. You always look so gorgeous that I’m sure you could find a really lovely pair of walking sandals that will enhance any outfit you wear. Check with podiatrist to see what would be the best pair of walking sandals for you.
Ooh thank you Carol I will have a look at Eco ones. Am asking around. My osteo actually recommended Skechers, which I love. It was just too hot for covered shoes so will try and get sandals like you suggested. And always wear my Skechers for cooler weather. x

Funnily enough the Osteo recommended Skechers and I have two pairs and wore one for travelling. But it was just too hot to wear them so need to get some sandals! Thank you for the lovely comment. x
