watching dragonball z, without watching original dragonball... it's like getting into arrancar arc in Bleach, without looking at Soul Society arc and anything that was before... Sure- you can catch up pretty quick, but... you still might be missing some flavour :)
if anything - before watching DBZ, you should at least watch a 10-15 min "What you should know about dragonball before watching DBZ". Without it, you wont understand who the gang is and how complicated is the relation between him and the other guys... Like Goku and Tenshinhan rivalry which pretty match develops like Ichigo and Renji relation in Bleach (using a lot of Bleach analogy here, because its the most simple i can come up)
For sure gotta watch OG DB subbed, then DBZ and onwards to get the full experience. Also, you forgot to add the king Piccolo arc too! That's, another classic arc that sets everything up for the cell saga, and all the red ribbon callbacks!
I watched that lil summary vid of DB. I need to watch it again. Who knows, in the future if I really like the series, i’ll be back for Dragon ball

We just wrapped up OPM, so I filled it in with DBZ. I think we got 4 atm. I still need to finish BC. 😂 I think I got like 40 episodes left. Shit, might bring it back in summer or something. You talking about opening reactions? I honestly might start em up. It’s fun to listening to all the bangers

As for Intro's and chronology:
Dragonball was 1st(Goku's childhood) - it intoduced Goku, show us watchers how he meet everyone and includes some early story enemies, what would reappear in future - stronger and more deadly then in begining.
Dragonball Z was it's continuation (Goku's adulthood)- it introduced Goku family members, also included some aliens invading Earth. Plus some old enemies from original series returned with huge powerups. This is also where original manga story ENDs.
Dragonball GT was last (Goku being a grandfather and being turned into a kid and space travel adventures). 10 years have skipped since DBZ and our protagonists gained grandchildren! But he was turned into a child and in order to regain his powers and posture- he went on a trip into space. This whole arc is non-cannon (like filler arc in Bleach). Based on popularity of DBZ, animation company hired their own people to write the script and keep show running.
Dragonball Kai -> it was the remastered/remade Dragonball Z. Some unessesary repetitions were cut off making it faster paced version of DBZ (without loosing any content... with some tweeks to animation/coloring?)
Dragon Ball Super -> IS again manga based. Instead of Akira Toriyama, who is the original creator. This one is being made by Toyotarou BUT this guy is the chosen one by the author to continue the saga.
Time-wise DBS is happeing just few chapters before the original finish of DBZ series (so it's kind of in the middle). It is considered to be cannon (non-filler).
So, my adivce would be:
- start with DB
- follow up with DBZ or DB Kai
- jump into DBSuper once Buu is finaly defeated in DBZ
- when you finish Super, you can check out DB GT - same as you did with filler arcs in Bleach.
If you want to skip DB - you should at least watch a 10-15 minutes summary to at least have a small clue who is who...
Also if you ever fall in love with DBZ, you should check: Dragonball Z: the Legendary Super Saiyan from 1993. It was re-done back in 2018, to fit more into Dragonball Super plot line and power levels, but that 1993 version was great at it's time :)

U gotta watch dragon ball before watching Z the pacing is good, less eps than Z, great character development, and if u like adventure then that’s the way to go. But the first 13 eps are slow and if ur into comedy then it’s good to watch but if you want to jump straight into action then watch a summary of the first arc then go to eps 14 where things get good

If you're going to watch dragon ball please start with the first series. There's no reason not to and its the best way and the intended way. For some reason people start with Z because its more popular but thats because in the 90's Dragon Ball was never aired in the west, so it was Dragon Ball Z that got popular
