I think when you said in OP 12 that they never focus on just Luffy to much is probably one of the best things about the series he is the MC but no character is wasted or boring they all have depth Luffy doesn't have to be on screen to drive the show.
Luffy isn't so much of a character... As he is more of a chaotic force of nature.
Facts, it's probs the biggest flaw for a show like Naruto. Naruto has so many cool characters, but the show got reduced down to just Naruto and Sasuke. They wasted the potential of way too many amazing characters like Lee and Neji. One piece draws out the full potential of all the characters and doesn't make it just the Luffy show.
It starts off very basic pirate of the week esque and if it stayed this way it would've fell off but it evolved into a series with a world filled with different races and world politics world conflicts etc. It does take a while but it's the promises made and mysteries established in the begining of the story along with an incredible story filled with incredible characters keeps the Fandom waiting for more.

I actually watch the series & find the pacing too slow. There isn't an anime out there that is paced slower, even at its slowest DBZ gets put to shame by One Piece pacing although that may be a Toei Animation thing. You have to wonder if we'll ever get One Piece Kai to cut the series down to only 500 Episodes after it ends? "Come on give us the next episode or chapter" is probably a more accurate description of After One Piece.

One Pieces has the best Plot/Characters/Foreshadowing/World building/Enjoyment, it's literally my favorite anime/manga and I watched like 75+(anime) including MasterPieces like Monster/Code Geass/Classroom of the elite and other shonen (AOT, Black Clover, Naruto, Bleach, Vinland Saga)

@@NoLegacyPlus There's nothing else like it! I noticed all the new stuff tries to copy Naruto's format and formula, but nothing even attempts to copy One Piece because its format and formula are way too ambitious to try to copy. Absolutely the GOAT.
I agree, I have watched almost all those you mention (except monster and classroom elite) but anyways I'm sure and one piece is and will always be my number one, it's just such a masterpiece, everything so nicely done, it's perfect. Second one for me because of amazing story, characters and world building is full metal alchemist brotherhood, such good journey

I was definitely intimidated by the length of this show before starting. Then once I did start I was glad to have so much content and I caught up in 3 months 😅 it’s a really fun watch and I think it has a good balance of goofy as well as emotional.

It's up there with Lord of the Rings/Star Wars
If you don't count Star Wars legends and only canon, it's actually way above both.

i used to hate on one piece for the artstyle before i watched the show, now that im caught up it influenced my art in such amazing ways and theres just something so charming about it. Loved the video!
This an adventure anime. We go all around the world. Of course, there's gonna be many characters. Each place has its people after all.

It's less about pirates and more about found family, freedom and adventure. In a quite dystopian world which really doesn't like any of those things. Amazing world building, with each island being its own distinctly different world.

That's not the same intro That's basically 1000 episode spacial intro which contains the present version of the characters with old vibe and song .
And that last one is not latest also, there is a latest 24 th opening which is not included .
But remember one thing this Show is something else, the perfect package of every emotions .

Luffy is the MC but the thing about this world is there are events that take place while he’s on his journey that can change the shape of the world as well as history that comes before him that shaped the world he’s in. Luffy is one cog in machine that is the world of One Piece. The world building in this series crazy and I find myself at numerous times asking if Oda is insane cuz it gets crazy and the way things tie in throughout the entire series is mind blowing
It's one of the best parts of the series. The world doesn't revolve around the Straw Hats. Big stuff happens without their involvement, and it helps to really make this feel like a real, functioning world that's bigger than the main heroes.
The reason they reused the first opening a few times is to kinda show how the crew has grown and to give nostalgia for anniversaries
The best part about One Piece is that the strawhats are like a makeshift family, the character interactions and how they "fight together" really makes the show, rather than just focusing on the main character
I had pain in heart when you told Luffy to fuck that guy up in opening 20 not even realizing that's one of his crew members he is fighting😭

Quite a few of the fantastic/artistic/daily life scenes in the openings are from the cover pages of the manga where the author draws random scenes he comes up with or that the fans ask him to draw in the fanmail... Most of those scenes are the ones where they are doing day to day stuff accompanied by random animals... or traveling through space in a colorful park attraction little train...
theirs way more fighting in the actual show than in the openings to be fair, especially when it comes to show how happy the show is it gets pretty dark at times
One Piece is my 2nd favorite manga, only gets beaten by Berserk, and by a very small margin. I often go back and forth on them because they are nothing alike, so its really hard to compare them, but they are by far the best at what they do.
just to clarify, there's no "slice of life arch" lol the oppennings often just have themes that pull us into the adventure. BUt don't be fooled, there is ALWAYS something going on.
All their lives is just adventure, so technically one piece is always a slice of life anime
one thing One piece is best known for is it's world Building check out the Breathtaking world of One Piece Video by Strawhat V & you'll see just how fleshed out this anime is & all created by 1 person

Most of the OP when they are hanging out and chilling is actually the manga color spreads the author draws for the manga. They can’t include them in the story so they put them in the OPs as a nod. If you’re familiar with the manga/ the art book the scenery of the opening is recognizable.
What is the show about? Yes.
As an edgy middle schooler I thought the art was super goofy and thought the series was going to be pure gag and goofy so I didn’t watched it till like end of middle school and I’ve never cried so much, felt so much sadness, happiness and anger from a series. It’s surprisingly a dark series. After 10+ years with One Piece I can say it’s my favorite series ever and it still going strong. The author is a genius madman I swear.

The manga has been ongoing for over 25 years now and counting, and the anime for 23 years.
One Piece is two years older than me and I'm 23. I stared watching when I was 11! It's insane. One of my biggest fears to date is not getting to see the ending.
Well the manga is currently in the final saga so it’ll end within the next 5 years anime wise
no worries there, as the commenter before me stated, The Final Saga is being made, the sunset is visibly on the horizon, but for sure it still has a bit of surprise left for us.

Something I love about One Piece is that it doesnt focus entirely on the main character. All of the Strawhat Pirates get almost the same amount of Screentime and Epic Moments, all have their character development and own Arcs dedicated to them and their own Dreams.
While also having many antogonists, allies or other parts of the One Piece World shown some times. It also deep dives into Politics and Racism, Experiments on Children and Genocides later on, but in a natural way

I started reading the manga a couple weeks ago, havent seen the anime, and its been pretty fast to catch up with. Im close to 300 chapters in with 1070ish out rn i think

Nah this big demon thing is Zombie N°900 from the Thriller Bark arc and it's name used to be Oz , when you get to Thriller Bark they gon' explain what and who this thing used to be before being revived by Gecko Moria as his biggest and strongest zombie
I thought it was Oars & I'm glad Thriller Bark was added to Netflix so that I can rewatch it. Here's hoping that we can get the stuff that Toonami skipped on Netflix soon (Sabaody-Marineford War) & speaking of which Toonami is about to start Dressrosa at long last.

Just found your channel when your review for episode 1 popped up on my page. And fyi… the best opening and ending credits are now. My favourites by leaps and bounds. Just wait till you get there to review it. :) And the manga started in 1997, the anime in 1999. 24 years with the anime. Lastly, they reuse the “We Are” original opening for anniversary stuff and flashback episodes mostly.
everything u said about why u didnt watch one piece is basicly 50% of all one piece fans thought process before watching😆. before one piece i was a naruto fan but now i hate naruto hahahaha. u keep saying the openings are all fun cheerful but they dont show the darkness thats lurking everywhere in the anime 😨. one more thing at the early openings its just random clips thats not even in the anime sometimes thats why its kinda weird with no fights maybe cause in the old days they didnt have enough money or somthing

Not only is the manga faster to read, it has better pacing and executes a whole lot of things in ways that are better executed on the page.
If you want to start the series, I recommend you wait a bit this year, its live action will be released on Netflix and we fans are very hopeful that it will be the best adaptation of an anime 🇯🇵☠️WE ARE!!!

The thing about these reaction videos for only the openings is that you don't hear the characters' voices. So when they bring back the first opening with all of the main cast singing, reactors wouldn't know. Also, because of how many episodes there are in general, it feels like you haven't heard that first opening in forever (mind you that One Piece has 1000+ episodes). Also, they bring in the original opening for special occasions (like the 1000th episode or for a Christmas/new years special).
If you were watching in a language that wasn't Japanese (See Funimation Dub for example) you would never know that about those 4 Episodes that ruined Enies Lobby in the Anime. Opening 6 was criminally underused because of the flashback episodes ending it prematurely & if you watch Opening 6 you can tell that it was supposed to play for the CP9 Fights. I'm years away from reaching Episode 1000 on Toonami (Dressrosa has just started) so I wouldn't know about that special version.

It's easy to get overwhelmed with the amount of episodes One Piece has, but once you start watching it, it won't feel like it'sa big task to overcome.
The manga started in the late 90s and the series is the best at world building nothing tops it.
That second rendition of opening 1 was an anniversary special that only played during recap episodes that not only brought the plot to an interrupted, screeching halt, but those episodes also contained three minute gag shorts. This time, the song was sung by the japanese VA cast.

The first magical beasts things are sea monesters known as sea kings. They attack and eat passing ships. Their meat is a delicacy given how regular people aren't usually strong enough to take them down. Also, they actually hae a couple of natural prdeators, but that's it.

If you don’t really like pirates, don’t worry the show isn’t REALLY about pirates, they’re on boat and outlaws like pirates but that’s about it, after the first couple of antagonists you can kinda forget about them being pirates if they didn’t call themselves pirates. No « Arrrr matey » and such either.
I think being scared of the art style is fair, you probably saw some ugly characters out of context and the author doesn’t hesitate to draw them really ugly, but as you’ve seen it’s actually quite cohesive and looks fairly good when you look at the whole picture and it allows him to draw whatever he comes up with without it looking out of place in the world he created. It’s actually a choice he made because he is capable of drawing more realistically if he wanted to, but I can totally understand how the art style can look weird or unappealing at first
You probably got the answer to this somewhere in the comments but the journey at this point for Luffy has been about 2 and a half years long up to where we are now. Maybe a little more or less

Shen long looks like a "cartoon" version of dragon, but kaido dragon mode more like "badass,scary,powerfull,maybe realistic" version of dragon.

There are no Slice of Life Arcs its just that there are some Episodes here and there where they just fool around, and the first openings are mostly non canon Crew footage so you wont get spoiled the show

Hilarious comedy, drama, adventure, ironic hard-hitting sense of reality, fantastic world-building, wild designs and characters, PLOT TWIST, MYSTERIES, LURKING DARKNESS UNDERNEATH THE HAPPY VIBES, AMAZING MAIN CREW AND ESPECIALLY THE PROTAGONIST!!! There's so much!
Also, don't let yourself be daunted by the episode count, there's no need to race through it, go by your own pace! Or pick up the manga if you want to go through it at the speed of light - the manga has an amazing pacing, almost flawless and lots of scenes that are censored or "milded" down in anime, aren't in the manga.

Also, no, it's absolutely normal and common for people who really pay attention and have an open mind to get somehow already bit attached to the characters just by watching the openings and feel the weird "nostalgia". Now, imagine when you get to know them. Lemme tell u, I have never gotten more attached to fictional characters than I have to the one piece ones, especially the crew and ESPECIALLY Luffy. People can call me basic all they can, but as someone who re-read and re-watched one piece so many times, and watched, noticed, observed and discovered all there is to Luffy so far (which there is ofc still be more since the story is still ongoing and Luffy still has his secrets), I can positively and with confidence say, that he is my top favorite character of all time, ever, from any series.
Anyway, sorry for the rambling, I really enjoyed your video! I'd love to see you react to some more one piece related content (without spoiling yourself too much ofc if you really do intend to pick the series up). I recommend reacting to the "The breathtaking world of one piece", some songs from the newest one piece movie film red because they are all super awesome (some titles: "New genesis", "Backlight", "Fleeting Lullaby" or "Tot Musica") or perhaps some fights/the best animated moments from one piece could serve as great motivation.

Trust me I had my eyes on the screen the whole time. It’s just that my screen is pretty big and I try and angle myself so it looks like I'm facing the reaction screen, so in the end I'm still looking at the same screen even when my eyes appear to be drifting
