The Opening 1 is used 4 times: the first, the second interpreted by the Japanese doublers of the characters, the third is a remix, the fourth is to celebrate the 1000th episode of the anime.
One Piece is for me like the Odyssey of Homer, but from the 21st century. Just as Ulysses traveled from island to island to find his own island with divine conflicts for backdrop, Luffy travels from island to island to find the One Piece with conflicts between the different factions for the backdrop.
And as a 53 -year -old man, I’m not ashamed to say that I laughed and cried while watching the anime for over 20 years.😊

I love to find out that there are others like me, a 44 yr old mother of 2 sons, who are proud to call themselves a lover of One Piece. Like you, I have laughed and cried while reading the manga and watching the anime for the last 20 or so years. I am caught up with both the manga and anime. It is my favorite manga\anime series of all time. I own the manga, have both figurines and posters, and wear shirts with all the Strawhats to this day. My friends and other extended family members laugh at me and think it’s a joke but I don’t give a s**t. I love what I love. I have been reading other manga and watching other anime series as well since the early 2000’s but One Piece is a series like no other. My sons, 24 yrs old and 22 yrs old, are also lovers of anime and manga and One Piece is there favorite as well. My sons and I make the time to read the new manga chapters together when they come out and watch the new anime episodes as they drop. My husband decided to watch One Piece once he really noticed how much my sons and I love the series and how it connects us in a positive manner. I am rewatching it with him and he has now just reached Impel Down. One Piece has become a family experience. Oda-sensei is a genius, his storytelling and world building are phenomenal. One Piece is the modern equivalent of Homer's Odyssey. A story millions will remember for generations. It's taken over 25 years to write and isn't done yet.

In my humble and very biased opinion, One Piece is the best story ever told. I'm 30years old. I cried over 2 things in the last 12 years and those are death of loved ones and One Piece. It's actually crazy :D

I love it and adore Luffy, who I felt very meh about for a lot of the story. But I struggle to say it’s the best ever, I don’t think I could ever pick just one, even within just anime. They’re quite a few stories I think are masterpieces, and if we’re talking just anime attack on titan is first that comes to mind, which may seem baffling to some if they haven’t seen s3 and s4. However it’s not the only anime I’d say is up there with one piece.
I really love and am sometimes addicted to one piece, but I’ve seen/read too many other good stories that I can’t say it’s better than those overall. But in certain aspects like world building it’s among the very best. I have a good bit of qualms with it but in the end I still love it.
I started the anime the weekend the live action dropped on Netflix in like September last year. Walked in on the wife trying out the live action, knew I liked it right away, turned around and started anime after less than an episode. Watched to current before new year, and am currently getting manga current, like110 in of like 1100 and counting. If you have the time, do it. Cant recommend it highly enough. Especially as someone who never watched more than the first year of Pokémon whenever that hit, it’s been a great basically introduction to anime as an adult.

As someone who has watched countless animes this one remains #1 for me. People say it's mid because it's too long or it has bad pacing, but One Piece compensates for it through everything else. The worldbuilding, character design, plot, humor, and emotional are masterfully thought out by Oda and it gets better and better throughout the series. At it's core One Piece is an adventure story, and because of its length it really feels like you're on an adventure with the crew. No other anime has made me feel as attached to the characters as One Piece. Highly recommend checking it out!

The series is kinda very dark, in an adult way. It's not in-your-face-dark but the themes reflect some real world problems too... like human trafficking and societal oppression, and a lot more.. And the author does address it. It's not noticeable because of the cute character designs 😊 Been a fan of the series since I started reading/watching it 10 years ago. Now I'm 28 and I still love it😭

One Piece isn’t just a great anime, it’s an amazing story. It’s comparable to some of the greatest classics in history. It’s the odyssey of anime, it’s been incredibly impactful to not only Japanese culture but ours as well. You can find One Piece references in many of our own media that you’d have never seen until you watch/read One Piece for yourself.

I like how you analyze the music, to be honest this great story has been accompanying me all my life, from childhood where I saw it on TV, to adulthood, so imagine what this story means to me and to others. At first it may seem very funny, but when it wants it knows how to aim for your heart, I remember how I cried in the Ace arch... it was a trauma for me, but it is something that will become immortal in my opinion

One Piece very much is a power of friendship good vibes show, but it has some of the most gut wrenching, tear inducing moments as well. The dark moments make the good times shine brighter. Major themes are pursing one's dream, the power of a found family, sacrifice for others, moral vs legal right vs wrong. It's my favorite anime from a plot and character standpoint. It does suffer at times from pacing issues around the midpoint, but it does not suffer from pointless filler like Naruto did (in my opinion).
The second "We Are" at 19:00 is sang by the VAs for the Straw Hat crew.

Yes One Piece can give a feeling of a kid's action show. However it deals with highly mature themes. Everything from Theft, Extortion, Backmail, Murder, Racism, Slavery, Child Abuse, Rape, Graphic Torture, Drug Abuse, Child Experimentation, Genocide, War, and much more are brought up in the series. And One Piece lore is arguably more complex than either Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones. If you ever do watch the series, you will probably laugh at the childish antics of the characters but also realize the complex political conflicts of the factions in the world. It is a story that can make you laugh, cry, rage and get pumped all in one episode of the series.

Actually no one really knows what the One Piece is... But what I can tell is that it is the most mysterious treasure that there is (in that world). It is also the final treasure (when it is found the anime will end). It's like the Saint Graal or the Youth Fountain of legends... The crew just navigate the entire world to find it.
PS.: There were the Pirate King who got his title by finding the One Piece, but he was executed and disclosed the One Piece existance. After him there's Luffy (but not only him) who wants to find this treasure and become the second Pirate King...

We still don't know what the One Piece is! Oda's only said two things about it (to my knowledge).
1. it's not just gold and jewels
2. it's not 'the friends we made along the way' or anything like that
So it's not 'just' treasure, and it is, in fact, 'something' is what we know.
I've not got into the latest arc yet, so I'm not fully up to date - so take my info with a grain of salt, I guess!

Even in the latest arc, we still don't know. Today we have 1116 chapters of Manga and something like 1107 anime episodes.
The thing about one piece is that, everysingle character got to shine in their own ways, since we all know how sad a hero background story can be... But Oda (one piece author) put love into his story and tells a good story for everyone be it main character/ side character/ villains / background characters... Honestly I would love to watch your journey with One Piece if you do start~... also love the video as always

When it comes to anime reactions, despite me not watching your channel, I couldn't help but comment this advice:
Don't stress yourself to put it to a schedule. Go at your own pace and just put your shows into a rotation. That way, your watchers know what will be your next reaction, but you'll get to it when you get to it, so you don't have to rush yourself to fit it in. A lot less stressful that way, I feel.

Luffy has been saying he's going to find the One Piece to become King of the Pirates ever since episode 1. As for what the One Piece is, that's the central mystery of the whole story, that will only be answered at the end of the Grand Line. The One Piece is a thing as confirmed by the author, it's not going to be "the friends we made along the way" sort of thing. However what's unique about Luffy is that he doesn't care if it is, he just wants to go on an adventure with some friends anyway.

that's not a spoiler, don't worry ^^ well basically the one piece is the name of the treasure that the previous (and only) king of the pirates left. the title of king of the pirates is given to those pirate that reach the one piece, because reaching the one piece means reach the last island of the world.

Hey man lovely first reaction! Had a great time watching, just a heads up these kind of videos can get a copyright claim for the music being used (hope it doesn't) but as a huge one piece fan and a drummer myself it was super cool to see you do the whole track list in one video and talk about how good some of the beats on these songs are! Also in case no one else said it already the main character luffy is a rubber man hence the long arms and the weird abilities he has.

Well, in the One piece universe, pirates are pretty much criminals. And while Luffy and his crew don’t really do anything morally bad, their activities are def considered illegal 😂
Oh, and something I saw in another video may help with these openings in regards to copyright. If they're copyrighted, replace their sound with an 8-bit variant of it.^^

In One Piece, the pirates aren't necessarily all good or evil. Same with the Marines. There's a lot more depth than that, so it's hard to know from openings who's good and who's bad outside of the main cast (which is a good thing)

Luffy is pronounced as Loofy. His family name is Monkey & his middle name is D but in japan they say their names backwards saying the surname first. So his name would be said Monkey D Luffy

Funny thing is, you talk about how bright and cheery this anime is, but that's only if you stop looking at the surface level. This anime genuinely gets pretty dark at times, and touches on some really messed up themes and topics that most series don't. Like, I don't think anime like Naruto or Demon Slayer get half as dark as One Piece does. Seriously, some of the stuff you see in One Piece is genuinely horrifying if take the time to consder it.

For One Piece fans, it's the best manga/anime of all times. For One Piece non-believers it's either mid or bad. And when they say mid, they say it in derrogatory way.
I enjoyed your reaction focusing on the music from a technical view. I say focusing on the music, because at times you weren't looking and missed some things, I know you reacted to the visuals and even theorized like a true OP fan does, but in One Piece there are details everywhere and if you miss them, then you'll lack context in the future. It's an ongoing adventure and some things that you see, you'll only get context some several hundred episodes down the line. That's why some people re-read the manga or re-watch the anime.
It's a journey.

Don't be daunted by the number of episodes, like most people are. It's supposed to be an adventure you take with the protagonist. Take your time if/when you decide to watch, and don't let people sway your opinion on it. In my opinion, I believe it is the greatest story that is being told. But I digress, you should find out for yourself and enjoy the journey.

I myself have enjoyed this anime so much to the point that I've seen the first 700 or so episodes at least 5 times, am caught up with the anime, and watch a couple reactions to the anime itself. The entire One Piece manga is written by a single man Eiichiro Oda, and no, it's not "mid" by any means, it's actually genius, especially the characters, themes and world building. The anime has a lot of weaknesses, mostly because it's an adaptation in the form of a weekly television show, meaning the pacing is often glacially slow.

I'm over 1,000 episodes into One Piece. I'm glad I watched it, and I'm a fan of it, but I must say that it isn't the best show out there by any margin. Its highs are seriously high, but its lows really drag. The pacing can be quite bad too.
As for the best anime that I've at least seen? Attack on Titan, and it isn't even close. Highly recommend it.

Only watched your reaction to the first opening so far - plan to finish the video obviously, but one piece is such a big series to me. Before watching it i was like "Oh overrated, too long etc" but now that im caught up (1117 chapters later) ive realized its much too short. a life changing anime. most of the big scenes arent the fights, or transformations, but some super hard hitting quotes and backstories. You've said that you already feel behind on life, not being able to run that 2nd channel, so i dont expect you to watch or read it, but if theres ever a portion of your life with more free time, i recommend reading it. a wonderful piece of literature as a whole, one of the greatest stories ever written. I hope the best for you in your career and everything! Heres some wonderful quotes from it

only gotten to the 2nd opening, you said you are getting happy vibes from it. and if you do think about watching it, i will say, for the most part it is that happy bit, but when it wants to go dark it goes very dark. the backstories are some of the only things in fiction to make me cry.
one piece is very much so (in concept, not practice) a race to the finish style adventure, also i would say one piece is perhaps not the greatest anime, as it's anime does struggle with some things that the manga doesnt, but the manga is one of the greatest. up there with the likes of fullmetal alchemist and berserk. and 25 years later, we the reader do not know what the one piece is. when it get's revealed though, it will be one of the biggest moments in pop culture
"is the one piece togetherness" most likely something along those lines, while the creator said it will be something physical not some "friends we made along the way" type stuff, a lot of fans speculate its much more important than just an array of riches. because the world of one piece has a lot of systematic oppression, and the series itself is very anti-establishment, a lot of people think the one piece is uniting the world together. to link it together, i know the UK has a big pop-punk and punk scene and because you are a musician im sure you're aware of that. so if thats your style this series is great

There's only two opening musics that feels kind of sad and they are this way for a purpose. You * must * watch it to know for yourself. Nevertheless this anime is a rollercoaster of emotions... You go from happy to rage and then you're suddenly sad, but then you're extasiated and then happy again..
PS.: This series is composed in arcs and, excluding the One Piece (the treasure) storyline, each arc is like an anime in itself... I think this is how it can stays relevant through the years... It started in 1999 and is not finished to this day.

Instead of letting them cut your videos, overlay 8bit versions of the song. I have seen a few reactor’s using 8 bit versions and its fine for us. You still get to hear the whole song and we get the tune. I hope this helps with your future videos.😊

one piece is just diffrent the creator can inretduce a charcater in an arc and he will still be revlenet 800 eps later and there alot over 1000 charcaters in one piece and the story is so easy to follow, the end goal is to find the treasure called one piece but the adventures are the island they go to the way there in one piece there is a sea called the grand line which go around the whole earth the one piece is at the end of the grand line and there are alot of lslands between and acentrues to go on each island is diffrent with weather culture the people the race everything is unieuq there are also the powers you saw on the video for example its why luffy can strweach beacuse he ate the gomu gomu no mi devil fruit which let him streach like gummy devil fruits are super rare and each got some super power like fire powers light powers turn into an animal or even some weird ones like turn into a werable jacket when eating one you lose the ability to swim (the one piece world is 90% water)
