Wow... what an example to all of us. She is what they call a "minority" and she displayed such determinationi and faith in herself. This should serve as an example to all especially who are labeled "a mnority" that there is nothing that is impossible!! Congratulatioins to you. I wish you success in your future! Anyone who thinks they cannot achieve something or change their life to a better life is WRONG.

How do you get a 6.5 gpa? Like seriously I want to know. My mind is blown. my gpa was 3.8...

I don't understand either. In my day, people who got straight A's got a 4.0.

They take honors and AP classes which are weighted much higher than standard classes. To achieve this GPA, she pretty much took all AP classes (maybe 1-3 classes were standard PE, music, etc) and received As in them.

Even AP classes are only worth 5.0…It seems that this GPA would have translated much differently 20 years ago. It’s kind of stupid actually.

Yeah, but in a state that is 49th in the nation and just lowered test score requirements for graduation again. I wouldn't be proud, i'd be embarrassed.

@@matheo6964 You obviously didn't read what I said. I finished my credits two years early, but they didn't give me my diploma (they get cash for each kid enrolled remember??) until two years later (two years of cash for the district and I never had to go to class) the last two years and because I had already "graduated" I was not even allowed to go to graduation ceremony, they just sent my diploma to me in the mail a week after the last day of school. And because I was not getting my diploma for two years I wasn't allowed to go to the graduation when I was 16. Sucks huh? And that was not even in NV.
