Iâm a spurs fan but I would pose the questions, whatâs âbetterâ 1 champions league or 2 europa leagues?
Liverpoolâs local rivals just pretty much ended their title hopes, Arsenalâs turn?
Everton âđ»
Possibly. Spurs are a good side. They have surpassed expectations this season and have been a top 5-6 side for the past decade, even playing in a UCL final.
Everton have been relegation battlers. Them beating local rivals Liverpool is way more impressive and surprising.
Was thinking that, it does seem very poetic, but not more poetic than spurs losing to Arsenal and beating/drawing to Man City. The narrative will be fulfilled either way.

I feel Ange will try something different this time, to throw Arteta off, but I donât think it will work
Mr obvious đ
Villa's big in Aston, baggies n blues are bigger than villa in the Midlands so to even compare them with spurs is nothing short of delusional, one good season is the best they got and they will still finish 5th at best

BIG GAME FOR BOTH TEAM'S
As an American, Spurs are more well-known down here in Texas. Mainly because of Son and Kane.

Imagine arsenal win, and Tottenham going on to beat city, and this gifting arsenal the title!
Never gonna happen, by the time Spurs play City they have nothing to play for.
I donât think us losing to spurs gifts anything to city. They are more than likely going to win the title regardless of anything we do. All we are trying to do is make it slightly more interesting than it would be otherwise. Itâs cityâs to lose not ours to win
Let's not forget Darren Bent didn't want televised games on a Sunday night because he's busy getting his kids packed lunch ready

Iâll be rooting for Spurs, but I think if Big Ange doesnât drop his line a little bit, Arsenal could do a repeat of the Chelsea scoreline v Spurs Sunday
Chelsea were playing against 9. And they still could have drawn or lost that game. Spurs had two goals ruled out by offside by a thin margin, and hit the woodwork. While down to 9.

DUHHHâŒïžđđ
Arsenal made spurs a bigger club.
Man City will win the Title, Liverpool and Arsenal had their run and Bottle đŒ It
Whos the bigger club. It depends on criteria in 9 categories below. This is my view (a neutral who lives in Devon and has no affiliation to either)
Id say (in no order)
Recent seasonal finishes (last 10 years including this season)
Major Trophies won (depending on stature)
Calibre of current player
Calibre of former player
Stadium
Supporter Base
Draw for players to come to
Wealth & spending power
Recent season finishes: Spurs have spent all but 1 season of the last 10 years in the top 6, finishing 2nd once, third twice, and forth twice. Villa have spent 3 of those seasons in the championship, one season 17th, one 16th. two mid table and one 7th, getting Conf League football. 4th/5th is what they will get this season.
Tottenham have finished above Villa 9 out of the last 10 seasons, which could be 10/10 if they finish above them this season
So based on recent league finishes, its 1-0 Spurs
Trophies won: Historically. Villa would win this due to their 7 first division trophies. The caveat of that is only 1 of those were in the past 100 years. Spurs have won 2.
Villa have 7 FA cup wins (1 in the last 100 years), Spurs have 8 (6 in the last 100 years)
Villa have 5 League cups, Spurs 4
Villa have 2 Charity/Community shields, Spurs have 8
Villa have a European Cup, Spurs have 2 UEFA cups (Europa Leagues for the younger fan) and a Cup Winners Cup (pre 90s CWC was a very prestigeous trophy). One could argue the 3 european cups spurs have won trumps winning a European Cup. Villa also won a Super cup
Total major trophies score has it at
Villa: 23
Spurs: 26
This is also subjective as the community shield is devisive. Some say its a major trophies, and some do not. Its usually the ones who want to pad their trophy count (Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool & United) fans who says is major, and ones who havent won it as much (Villa, Everton) who say it doesnt count.
Because of the subjective nature of total trophies won, the value of the European cup vs 3 CWC/UEFA cups and the fact 14 of these trophies Villa won are over 100 years old (9 of them in the 1800s) id feel both teams deserve a point here as i couldnt say which is better.
Villa 1-2 Spurs
Calibre of Player: Id say Tottenham. The last 5 years has seen Son, Bale, Kane, Alderwierald, Vertonghen, Dembele & Eriksen. Each of them world class. I cannot name a world class player to have played for Villa recently. Villa have extremely good players currently, but most are in that bracket below world class, similar to Spurs players. Spurs get the point.
Villa 1-3 Spurs
Calibre of former player: According to their own website, Villas top 5 former players are James Milner, Peter McParland, Dwight Yorke, Allan Evans and Paul McGrath. In contrast, Tottenhams top 5 former players are: Gareth Bale, Glenn Hoddle, Jimmy Greaves, Dave Mackay, Paul Gascoigne. Tottenhams to 5 blow Villas out of the park. Thats not even including Harry Kane aswell.
Villa 1-4 Spurs
Stadium: Spurs, no question.
Villa 1-5 Spurs
Supporter base: Both sides have an extremely good following, Spurs probably edging it worldwide. Both sets can be very deluded though and equally annoying. Both get a point
Villa 2-6 Spurs
Draw for players to come to: The past 10 years, id say Spurs, but Villa have caught up massively. Spurs probably edge it based on the stadium draw & the money on offer. Villa are very close on this one though.
Villa 2-7 Spurs
Wealth & spending power: Spurs again here, the money the stadium rakes in is astronomical compared to other clubs of their stature. 5-6M per home game, plus the events they put on. Spurs are more commercially valuable, generate far more revenue and can pay bigger wages.
Final Score: Villa 2-8 Spurs.
As i stated, this is subjective. However you have to be unbiased when you look at this. For anyone who says "Villa won 7 first divisions, spurs only did 2" yes, true, but 6 of those came when everyones shorts were up to their chests and had handle bar moustaches. And the trophy argument also cant make sense. Villa are undoubtably bigger than Leicester, but Leicester have won more in the past 10 years than Villa have in almost 50. That doesnt make Leicester a bigger club
So in conclusion, from an unbiased but subjective viewpoint, Tottenham are a bigger club than Aston Villa when taking all aspects into account.
Shame about FFP because Villa could outspend majority of clubs in Premier League including Spurs. We also spend money wisely so it's a shame we can't really go for it. Fair points you raise although as a Villa fan, the most important points are in the premier league after 38 games.
@@jonesy1328 If FFP wasnt a factor, anyone could outspend anyone. Most have bilionaire owners who only dont spend because of FFP. Spurs are one of them, Villa another. Wst Ham another. I think you underestimate the wealth behind spurs there.
The most importatnt points are the ones after 38 games. But that doesnt make a club bigger than another. Villa and Spurs will both finish ahead of Manchester United who are by far a bigger club than both.
@@Konnor244 true Konnor but Man United will always be a bigger club however, who cares next season if we're in champions league! just demonstrates the importance of planning.
And I don't agree regarding FFP, just look at Man United and their owners. If FFP was loosened I think we'd certainly see a few club demonstrate their ambitions i.e. Newcastle and Villa. West Ham!? David Sullivan compared to the Villa owners? don't get me wrong, i'd be more than happy to have 2% of West Ham owners wealth but Villa owners in different league.
â@@jonesy1328 Your first statement holds no merit or relevance to what ive said about villa/spurs being bigger so im not sure why you're saying it tbh. My post is about whos bigger as a club as that was discussed in the video.
West Ham dont spend beyond their means right now because of FFP, same as Spurs. They plan carefully. Villa have to an extent too. As have Arsenal. If there was no FFP, all these clubs would spend silly money. So that argument is null and void.
If you're going on wealth, then Fulham could outspend Villa. So its a very moot point.
Daniel KĆetĂnskĂœ who owns 27% of West Ham has a personal wealth of double Villas owners. If FFP wasnt a thing, he could easily invest a huge amount of money into the club like Villas owners could, like Fulhams could, spurs, wolves etc.
@Konnor244 relax was just a conversation that went slightly off track. I just feel if FFP wasn't around Villa would be in a better position than Spurs. No biggey if you think Spurs are bigger đ€Łđ€Ł
Villa is bigger than Spurs
I their current form I agree even as a Spurs fan
Iâm a West ham fan, Spurs are a bigger club
