I did notice that digestion wasn't the same after my ED. I couldn't process fruits and vegetables as well as I could before. Liquid calories helped. Smaller meals helped.
Thanks for admitting that processed foods aren't ALWAYS bad and that tracking calories has a purpose sometimes.
Thank you for this video. I notice a huge difference when having less fruit and veg. Just hard to do it consistently.
Thank you for doing this series - this is the issue that has stopped me recovering for years. One thing I would add is that you really need medical supervision if you're severely underweight. I was initially on an anti-refeeding diet, but have been able to gradually increase portion sizes and add snacks throughout the day as my body adjusted to eating more food. Being severely underweight doesn't mean you can't eat a lot more than you're used to but you just need more precautions in place as your body is so weak.
I've been recovering for two whole days! I have extreme bulimia....omfg my face is SO PUFFY which looks cute on me tbh...but I kid you not I'm up like 20lbs of water weight. My stomach has been round like I'm fully pregnant for the past two days (I'm waking up to day 3 rn) I literally don't have to eat much at ALLLLL and my stomach is huge after 3 bites and not much fluid!! My insides are so sore as if I've just started using a muscle for the first time. I'm scared that this isn't normal, but I have no health insurance, so I'm recovering on my own. Was just gonna take a few days off work, but I'm taking a full 7 days...very hard not to restrict. I was trusting the process on day 1 and a half, but waking up with a full belly seems like there's seriously something wrong af going on.... I haven't been hungry in a few days, and also going #2 pretty frequently...wtf??? I've gone through "recovery" countless times, but this time is the WORST I've really fucked my body up!!!
Also I'm coughing up a lot of phlem as if I'msick but don't feel sick (it's already going away) but these are my symptoms. This crap is noo joke!!
Loved this video. So helpful 😊
awesome video as always! summarised this important topic so well
This video is super helpful. Thank you!
You’re helping me immeasurably during my recovery. Thank you so much 🙏
Really helpful, thank you
So helpful, thank you!
Hard to stop restriction when I have no hunger cues I literally don’t know what my stupid body wants
My food starts to irritate my stomach when its almost digested. I can get past stomach pains caused by eating, but the acidy feeling I get when a meal is full of stomach acid makes me (make myself) vomit every time at the moment.
Can you do a video on getting past the need to vomit from digestive issues?
After eating, sometimes, my stomach muscles feel like they haven't been used in ages. The way your legs do if you've been sick and in bed for a few days. I am building up slowly but it's not enough
I need this video! Please please make this video Elisa!
Dot exe, I am so experiencing the same thing. I vomit a lottttt. And its not because I want to. Its because my stomach feels SO sick.
I didn’t know about the water. I’ve been drinking so much as suggested by my dr and naturopath. But they both haven’t connected my ED with my stomach issues and I’ve been exercising a bit because of my TMJ abs posture but I will remember what you said to rest more
Do you recommend eating less protein? What amount is safe for better digestion?
Could u make a video about when and how can binges could stop in recovery ( especially bulimia) 😇 @followyourintuition
I was in a toxic relationship. His mom and brother were also very toxic so I got burned out and I also had intreated sleep apnea so I'm trying to get out of this exhuastion now and it demands alot of food
In your opinion would it be ok to work out as long as you're eating the calories to compensate for it or is it better to just not work out at all?
i drink 4-6 L of water daily, but i don't force myself to, i'm thirsty, is that still bad?
i just purchased your book. the shipping cost was huge to come to Greece, but i really hope it was worth it.
I read it,1000% worth it !
Same for France. But it's worth it. I read it two years ago. From time to time, I read some chapters again. It's a great tool and helped me a lot. Thanks to Elisa I'm almost recovered.
I’ve been diagnosed with gastroparesis and this has made me relapse thinking I’ll never be able to eat enough as I suffer from severe nausea everyday which is increasing my anxiety. Will this resolve itself further into recovery?
I have similarly. The dietitian imposes huge restrictions on me because of candidia, sibo and many intolerances.
Same! Elisa, please help!
Which was your ED??
How does ED works for people with Underactive thyroid??? And with overshoot weight??? Any thoughts?
Would like to know this too! I have hashimoto's and it gets confusing with autoimmunity. Nobody seems to truly address the issues/cross of recovering from an ED AND dealing with serious chronic illnesses
Are you still working with people? I would love to work with you
Does this apply to HA recovery or just for ED recovery??
ally shel both! I recovered from HA following these exact steps
Is it normal to feel very shaky and anxious due to the amount of sugar I’m consuming? ( lots of chocolate) the video was very informative, thank you 💜
these symptoms can happen in recovery, I had as well because I went through periods of eating more chocolate because of cravings and extreme hunger, for me it passed and it wasn't a big deal and it was temporary, but how it is for you and what is your state might be different so please always consult a professional to be safe!
Follow the Intuition thank you for your help! It’s good to know I’m not the only one 💝
I think I have kwashiorkor syndrome
First
Can i do yoga instead of exercise?🥺
You can also go for walks, bike rides, play basketball (or any sport), dance, stretch, etc. Idk if you can still excercise, definitely don't overexcercise.
And here I am buying everthing whole wheat thinking that would help with my digestion...😥
I've actually found that wholewheat and wholegrains help my digestion! In fact, I've had somewhat normal bowel movements 4 days in a row now from eating big portions of fibre and protein rich foods! Fruits and veggies don't make my bloating and digestion worse, but the high fat and sugar foods do! I guess every body is just different and you have to experiment to find what works for you!
No. It is scientifically proven that high Fibre foods are harder to digest for any human
