I am a Cummins guy too. Just recently started watching your videos and I enjoy them.
Good job
I got the same tool/fuel box and love it. It's been in 3 trucks now. It's made by RDS and advertising 91 gallon but I only fit 88-89. It fits below the rail and hides under my Tonneau cover. Electric pump to transfer on the fly. And enough room up top for a basic tool kit tire plug kits and ect. It's been great if anyone looking for a combo tank but it's for 8' bed only. Northern Supply sells them.
Yeah, I had dreams of getting around the 20K price range on my 14 Tradesman, 3500HD 6.7 needing a new bed but everything else was still beautiful on it including the delete on the 180K miles. Ended up with 8K with the trade in, not personal party though. Brand new Coooper tires all around. Those were more than a couple grand alone~!
Dealer's ull fuckya !!!
I bet if you put a nice Bradford Built flat bed with integrated tool boxes your guys would like to drive it more. It makes it look more professional and they're surprisingly useful. Thanks for putting stuff out there.
I wish I needed it, I’d absolutely buy that
just remember they build them more cheaply every new model year.for longevity your better off with older, better built trucks.why pay the additional cost for new ones that break sooner than the old ones.
Keep it. Latest generation is struggling with emissions. But so are Ford and GM diesels.
I’d be rebuilding those 4th gens all day. Don’t think I’ll ever let go of mine…
Meeeee eitherrrr!
I have a 01 Cummins with 560k I’d throw some money at it.
Best hotshot rigs are medium duty freightliner trucks you can buy use otters at reasonable price and they are built for heavier duty use. I had 3500 and repairs got out of hand went to FL 70 and have saved money all the way around
You are right in many aspects. But what about 4x4, ride, crew cab, and fuel economy ?
@@technicalitems731 no 4x4 excellent ride comparable fuel economy and most toter cabs are crew bigger trucks designed for heavier pulling air or hydraulic brake package are on them used to pull race cars mostly good luck
Keep running it send it to the body shop fix up the interior interior it will run for another 2 years
New truck you fear the cosmetic damage. Old truck you’re used to it.
Cosmetic damage is all fixable. Tough call. But if you’re running a business and the drivers hate it…
I think it’s your experience with the 22’s that I lean more towards keeping it, but it ain’t my decision… just what I think :)
To be honest I'm surprised you don't rebuild your old trucks instead of gambling on the new designs.
Business expense write off.
@@laszlovass7326 broken equipment costs.
@@frp1276 yes, it's a choice. For independent truckers rebuild old and run reliable in a niche. For bigger carriers, tax write-off and driver comfort, etc. This is why EPA and transportation and DOT target independent truckers, to crush.
532k miles and relatively in good shape? KEEP that beast! Run that to 1mil and get some sort of record! Oh and no DEF.
it's 2016 not 2006. There's DEF and all of the exhaust goodies on a 2016.
Doh! Hmm well still keep that beast!
@@willieninefivenine6476 my '15 would disagree.
I'd hardly use "goodies" to describe them but I know what you mean.
I'd throw some money at it , and let it work 💪
Hey Paul Instead of showing under the hood of these high mile trucks can you show underneath??? Want to see if engine is developing oil leaks
I'm curious what your old driver did to get fired... I'm a company hotshot and don't want to make the same mistake
Hey there I realize you didn’t want to elaborate on the video as far as what the mistake was by your driver but if you could vaguely mention something, I would appreciate it. I am new to this world and about to buy my own 3500(mega!) and would love some good advice. It won’t be a dually though… if not I understand. Still gonna tune in for as much pro info as you will disseminate. Thank you
Hey Paul what is the spec you were talking about with the tires? Thank you
Keep it and make it a local or keep it has backup
keep it until the frame is no good. new Allison transmission this time.
Original emission equipment?
That’s a tough one. But you of all people know about all of the problems that are built into these new diesel trucks.
hello, do you have an opinion on the 2010-2012 pre DEF 4th gens how reliable they are ?
Hey Paul I sent you a message on IG but figured this would be better. Where are you getting your 5th gen water pumps? Only one I can find is the mopar one and it’s 420$. Trying to see if you use a different source with better pricing
Payload n towing capacity?
Definitely a flat bed
I don't see anybody giving $20k for it. $15k maybe. It's an ugly workhorse
Nice truck reman it and swap the trans for a Allison And add an ultimate tolling rig Maybe a bigger Turbo And injectors and have a hot rod/toe rig Don't get no better than a Cummins with an AllisonJust like old farm equipment that's still working 60 years later
The trans that is in it is better than the Allison behind the duramax. Aisin is one of the best auto trans made. Just look that one made it over 500k pulling daily.
@@Bodie2020 You're more knowledgeable than I am I just heard never I got tested But I forgot you had 500000 on that truck Like you're a content man thanks for the info
Refurbished the Truck!
For God's sake don't buy 2019+...4 Gen best built hands down.
20k for that. LOL
