Boy, you’re all talk. Never seen you do anything on a truck through your videos. I’m gonna do this, I’m gonna do that, yeah yeah yeah. Are you sure you’re not running errands for yo daddy?
Yep daddy gifted all and handed me the keys to all the trucks. Lol.
Bad news son. I had to work hard to have something in this life. So get to work. :)
PD Diesel Power yeah, don’t believe that. I think it’s your dads company. You’re just an employee claiming it’s your business. Which I’m sure yo daddy don’t care if you do.
PD Diesel Power if I’m wrong, make some videos of your day to day of operating your business. Give us a walk through and introduce your employees as you normally do. Don’t forget to use proper terminology. As you call them, your drivers and your operation manager etc.
I can respect your request of a vlog. I have no problem with that. I can see value in that if someone is looking to get into running a trucking company. And would like to get little bit of insight. But I'm not going to shove a camera in my guys face. I will not make them uncomfortable. They are there to do there job and not to be CZcams stars.
PD Diesel Power people enjoy being a CZcams star. I doubt they will object. I see value in entertainment, not instructional vlogs for running a business. Because the way one business is ran is not the right way to run other businesses. So again, entertainment, that’s the entire point of your CZcams channel.
Nice! Congrats! I actually purchased my first 2018 Ram 2500 turbo diesel mega cab about 7 month ago and couldnt be more happy. Love your videos. Just to let you know you helped me make the decision in getting this Ram. Thank you. God bless you. Anyone considering a diesel Ram, you will be very happy with the power and comfort it has to offer.
Laramie I forgot to add.
I’ve got a 170k on my 14 Ram 2500. I own a foundation repair business so I haul some heavy, heavy stuff daily on my gooseneck. I love taking it to my trusted repair shop. It always comes back that it doesn’t need anything. My duramax is more high maintenance than my wife. Your video makes me feel good with that truck. I get excited too when things go right. Usually for us business owners sh** starts going down hill the moment our feet hit the floor in the mornin’.
I have a ram 2016 dually and after watching your videos last year a bought another 4 gen white 3500 just like that one, single rear wheel aisin long bed 2018 new at the dealer, at a great price and is working great 👍 thanks for your videos, I love my two rams .
I just crossed 200k in my 1/2 ton Silverado.
It was exciting. I bet this 500k approach was fun. Congrats.
You should install an Amsoil bypass filter kit to catch all the smaller metal filings in the oil and take out the soot, especially still having the factory emissions on it, and egr- dumping soot right back in the intake.
17 minute video!!! Whoohoo!! Keep it up man!
Sounds good to me, not surprised really since you guys maintain em right...
Dang Cummins is a money printer
My 2012 Ram 6.7 has 472,000mi and I haul RVs full time it uses only on quart of oil in 10k miles and has over 15k idle hrs.
I am planning to buy a 2015 Ram Big Horn 304k miles, the only reason is because I need it to move some stuffs around and I dont want to pay for a new truck. The owner said that rebuilt the transfer case about 1 year ago all maintenance on time, what are your thoughts? price is 8000k
Thanks for what to look for or watch for because i got my very first but used 17 ram 3500 aisin longhorn with 70000 km lol just broke in for my business. Just keep it comming on how to fix or maintenance
I'll do my best
Check the door wiring harness. My Cummins had that problem with Both my rear harnesses were cut by the door opening and closing
Bought my 17 3500 single wheel after watching a bunch of your videos. I wanted to get a cummins after my Duramax got t-boned.
Thanks for the video. I hear so many stories about Ram trucks being bad. Seems if they were that terrible they wouldnt sell many. Like you say, theres good ones and bad ones in every brand. Im not a fan of any particular brand but I would try a Ram after seeing this.
Please get the 5th gen video up. I am having a slew of concerns with mine 10,000 miles
The question is does the window work with the switch in that door. Ram`s have issue`s with the window switch`s,. But they are easy to change Paul maybe knows they just pop up out of the door panel. That is nice thing about these trucks no pulling the door panel unless the motor is bad. I would only recommend OEM I have purchased after market and they don`t last.
You sir have a very good driver..... and all those negative comments, yeah they must be ford lovers😂 i have a 98 dodge 3500 and its hitting 400k💪
Good job! Nice truck buddy,I drive a Kenworth T680 hauling doubles with an isx 15L I run teams coast to coast for a non profit that hauls all of Dillard’s clothes and products.thr company is adamant about getting all of the life out of our trucks. Our mechanic at our terminal (Gilbert,AZ) really loves the Cummins,he personally like them better the. Our CATS. Our company use to do overhauls but they announced in our semi annual meeting they won’t anymore.we typically get 1.5 million before overhaul. Only complaint is sometimes these Cummins start using a lot of DEF mechanic said it’s typically the position of the DEF sprayer in the exhaust. I bet your truck will hit 1 million no problem buddy safe travels🤠
I had 2 pre EGR isx and absolutely had zero problems with. Own 1 isx. Would like to try the isx 15.
Thank you for your support and safe travels brother
I have 560000 on my 2014, had the transmission rebuilt once.
You should come out on a diesel podcast and give your view on these 4th gen cummins. People want to know
500k - that’s amazing. I only have 34k on my 2018 Ram 2500 and I guess my truck is not even broken yet compared to this one.
:)
you fuel milage is fixing to increase dramatically at about 40K
Thanks for sharing. I like Fords but Dodges always welcome. Cheers.
awsome, just out of curiosity , whats your secret to not having def issues, erg issues... at what miles do you change your oil and type? I have a '17' and would like to adopt your habits. any advise is appreciated
Does the truck have the original DPF and EGR valve?
Great Video. I have a Video on my Son n Laws 2013 with over a Million Miles. Ram Tough
That's a tough truck!!
Yep. Has served me well
I have a 13, and I love it...
I wanna know what your maintenance is how often you change fluids?
Paul, with you putting so many miles on your trucks, it be nice to know at what mileage you replace parts, and cost per mile,, I have over seen other trucks (fleets), and notice at the same mileage the same parts gave up.. Cost per mile on keeping your trucks on the road for 500,000 miles, it all about cost per mile, Keep the shinny side up...
Engine light on. Problem or issues
This how i fix it. I removed the light
And drive and drive without any problems
I'm a long time subscriber/ viewer to your channel. I have a 2018 Ram 2500 Cummins Tradesman. Basically, my interior is identical to the Ram you're showing in this video. Can you tell me what type of device holder (RAM mount) you have mounted on the top of your dash, sitting off your steering wheel's 2 o'clock position? I think it would be great for mounting my Garmin GPS there! Thanks!!
Very shocked to hear that look at the Forums look at all the issues. Different story congrats on yours
What do you think about the 2021 going back to cp3?
ya stopped with brakes.. how many sets?
That motor is in great shape, watch some "Cummins overhaul" videos on CZcams... and you will be amazed at how little wear they suffer...
PDF POWER HOW ABOUT INFO ON RUNNING THE HOTSHOTS BUISNESS.? It's more about BUISNESS if a person is going to pay for any new 3500 pickups. Do u comply with new ELD logs and etc...?
What kind of oil and how frequently do you change it...
Thanks ffg or the onesided conversation and no stats what so ever damn yr hours ect just 500k and change your shocks dont be cheap driver comfort
It’s the door wire harness in the driver side rear door NOT the motor
Check for broke wires in the rear doors. Chrysler uses really crappy wire.
You’re lucky with yours I wasn’t so lucky with my
never had valve cover off? you bluetooth adjusting the overhead?
18 Ram 3500. Bought because of your videos. Owned 1 year 1 month. Just turned 115k today. Love the truck! Quick question, you have this issue with any of your trucks? While turning the steering wheel during parking lot maneuvers or turns at intersections I have a click, click, click etc that can be felt in the wheel. Almost feels like the turn signal cancel. Could that be the issue? This happens with the turn signal off.
Probably plastic on plastic action. That's what is going on in this truck
Would you mind doing the blow by test with the oil cap?
6.7s show more than a 5.9 from what I've seen anyway
Off topic a bit but my 1999 GMC 5.7 1-ton Van made it 421K miles, was running GREAT, only mild ring wear and 1 qt of oil per 10 - 12K miles at oil change. But auto trans took a dump. Oh well. BTW no service on transmission. Got to 100K I was afraid to. Water pumps, fuel pumps, and serpentine belt.
There's a guy who got 1 million miles on the same vehicle and he was changing oil every 25k miles and original transmission.
I got a 98 gmc 1/2 ton with the 5.7. Its got 200k. Head gasket went about 20k miles ago. Even then, i drove it on the hoghway for a couple months before i got it fixed. Other than that truck is solid....i wanna put a supercharged 6.0l in it 😳
Im considering a 2500 Cummins for the long-term reliability reputation, but I'd be using it for mostly daily commutes. If i bought one with under 200k, could i still expect to get 500k out of it when it's not highway miles?
That truck is cleaner than my 300k 05
sam grabel I was thinking the same lol
I new them 19' were gunna give you the first year blues. Did you do a manifold on that 500,000 mile truck. wondering, should i put extra protection on the wiring harness now
Yep. I forgot to mention that. New manifold and gaskets
I hear of retired guys that transort RVs across the country with over a million miles on them, with not much done other than auxuary parts replaced or trans rebuilds.
The cummins 3500 with aisin is like the only exception to the usual FCA junk.
paxrom1 Lol wrong. Chrysler is the most reliable company i’ve ever purchased a vehicle from, and i’ve owned Toyota/Ford/GM vehicles and all were shit to no avail.
Valve cover hasn’t been off? Never done a valve set in 500k?
Is it still running
Well can't wait to see and hear it at 784K my Ford gas 4.9l 88 still hasn't been rebuilt, I'm waiting for it to die so I can put my new one Wich is entirely forged and a small turbo
Current motor burns no oil at all 15-40 T5 rotella
Are you running any fuel additive? I run 10 oz of Powerservive Grey Bottle every fillup and she runs like a top
Jesse James He uses Shaffer’s. He’s made a video about it. Not sure what it’s called but he buys it by the barrel
Just wondering, how often do you change the ATF and filter on the Austin?
We shoot for 40-50k miles. There has been much more but we try our best to keep it in check with 50k max
Dude, I have one like that except a 15. 105k miles total 19k towing. Ball joints wore out at 100k idler bad now. Egr valve 2k miles ago. 1 turbo actuator 2 water pumps power steering pump ecm tcm valve body trans pump radio went bad 4 batteries and there’s more I just have to think about it.
Dang. That's rough.
How many hours on that truck? Curious on idle time on a 500k motor
Im curious too.
Little late now but I’m also curious
Same here
Idle time? It’s not a 18 wheeler it’s not like guys sit there for hours idling to power a light bulb lol
500 on any newer ram is a miracle to behold
Bikingfordays I have 230k on my 6.0 with stock gaskets!!! That’s like 3 million Cummins miles hahaha!!
RGJ58 425K on my 2013 4.7. Not a miracle to take care of your vehicles.
The Cummins got you there, not the rest of the truck...
Panther Martin77 ?
Have you had any emission problems if so what and win or has she been freed from her filter
Justin M looks to be stock still
Why does Consumer Reports say the 3500 is the worst vehicle. I have read plenty of stuff about the Rams basically falling apart around the engine.
Super curious how bad the egr system might be blocked up.
Probably not much this truck gets worked hard and hot
What transfer case fluid (brand) do you recommend using?
OEM. I just buy it from the local dealer
I have 483000 on my 14 ram you can use castrol or any major brand you get from parts store and it will be fine
What fuel filters do you run, 500k on original injectors is unheard of. Must be credited to the type of driving that truck sees and good quality fuel.
OEM. Fleet guard
A guy I work with has 550k on his 5.9 and has never replaced a injector but he changes his oil and filter along with the fuel filter every 6k miles. I believe he does fleet guard and regular Rotella T4.
I run rotella t6 and fleetguard fleetguard filters too. First set went out at 185k and second at 440k.
What phone mount is that
Are you trucks tuned and deleted??
is this truck deleted, or does it have all the emissions crap from the factory on it
Its most likely not deleted
Do you use Mopar for replacement parts?
Alot but not all. But when I dont use oem I use good reputable companies
My wife's honda CRV has 215k on it does that count?..lol..GREAT VIDEO Paul
Thank you
How is the Oil consumption?
repairvehicle 2 quarts in 10k miles. He said it towards the end of the video. Also a little bit of shavings.
Probably the turbo
How well do the Powerstrokes and Duramaxes hold up in comparison?
Dodge is better then both
Cummins is the best engine only thing to worry about is a lot of ram trucks were assembled in Mexico with awful quality minus the engine,
Is that truck deleted? Just wondering how all the oem emission stuff held up if not.
sean yaccarino nope bone stock
Its not deleted .... its stock
Awesome, thanks guys
What oil do you use.Shell rotella T6?
How often do you change the oil?Do you do a oil analysis frequently? Thanks
Schaefer’s, he did a video on the maintenance intervals a little while back
got 480000 on my 2014 I use amsoil and change it every 15000 miles
@@lj5245 Thank you do you use 5w40 viscosity in the winter for cold starts. And 15w40 in the summer?
@@baraggia1 live in the south I use 15/40 year round 5/40 is good for extremely cold winters my truck don't burn oil or leak oil been in hot shot business over 40 years driving one ton diesel trucks
@@lj5245 Great thank you
Where would Dodge Ram be without the Cummins
Driving a Cummins but has a Caterpillar hat on the dash lol. Congrats on 500k!
I noticed there’s a wine when u turn the wheel. What is that? I’m having the same noise. My power steering fluid looks good.
Steering box maybe or a belt
My 16 steering has been winning since new. Dealer says it’s good at 46k.
Why is the check engine light on ?
My check engine light has been for 140,000 miles... No issues.
carl atamanczyk wow! I couldn’t get away with that here in California. I’m curious to know what that check engine light is on. Awesome on getting 500k miles! 👍🏽
@Matt P I won't worry about it..... It's a 2001 Cummins without any emissions garbage. I hate to get rid of it. Good rig...!
I only have 170,000 miles on it.
Hey Paul was gonna ask a question about an issue I’m having with my truck. Thought maybe you had this issue since you have a good bit of rams. So My windshield gets really foggy don’t matter if I turn the ac on or off. And it’s like a sweet smell from the vents and sometimes a burning smell. Any idea what it might be?
U playing? Heater core bad boss..
@@BruceMyersLBZ How could i be sure its the heater core? and are they pretty easy to change?
@@hotshottransport945 every gm n ford I ever did was pretty strait foward, cant think dodge would b any different. If it blows a greasy/ slippery film onto glass n smells sweet its antifreeze. Aka blower motor misting it off your heater core in hvac box. Follow 2 small coolant lines under hood on passenger side going into cab. Prob behind/under glove box in cab on mopar as well
@@hotshottransport945 very common problem/basic repair
@@BruceMyersLBZ Is there anyway to remove heater core without pulling the dash?
how did the drivers seat hold up..
Only $150 for new lower cushion and factory original Leather seat cover. Less if it's cloth.
Be like new.
I would pay good money FOR that 1948
Cummins 6.7 requires valve adjustment every 150k. I hope that valve cover has actually been off..........
Most times when you pull the cover at 150k they are still in spec...
600k on my 95 5.9 Rotella T every 5k mi.
My Ram has 1 million 57 thousand top that boys
My 1948 Ram Dually Bighorn Lonestar Tremors Edition has 1,057,001 as of an hour before yours did.
@@Error404v22 lol
T Lane serious? What maintenance did you have to do besides the basics?
@@MikeG-jo4tk nothing ssme moter injectors, tran, if u dont believe me call hagens dodge in morilton Arkansas it call service and
@@MikeG-jo4tk ask for jason in service
Paul you should register the trucks on the cummins page for 1/2 million miles
I'll look into it
How do drivers get water in the fuel
By pumping shit diesel from places called “penny’s gasoline”
Drivers need to pay attention to the water in fuel indicator and open the valve at the bottom of the fuel filter to let the water out occasionally.
Sounds to me like just a bunch of squaking.
How many engine hours ? Miles don’t mean crap when talking about engine
Jeebraa Pskiii yeah they do idiot
Noah Ranker if it’s all highway miles or city I’m that’s a huge difference
6 years 500k? That’s gotta be all highway
I think you’re backwards there, hours mean less than miles
Noah Ranker you obviously are a young punk that doesn't know shit about trucks or anything diesel, when talking about an engine why would it matter how far it traveled when really you wanna know how many hours it has ran
I've had a lot of trucks but I haven't had much luck with Ram trucks. Too many repair bills. Chevrolet and Ford have been more dependable.
gbuddy Can’t relate to that. I’ve had most of my issues with Toyota/GM/Ford, and my last purchase of anything else but a Chrysler was 2012. Then i purchased a 2013 4.7/6SP and 8 years later she has 425K on her and she’s doing great. Can’t say that about any other car i’ve owned.
It’s got that antenna delete. Lol
:) I think it was used as a tool. Looks like it was used as a slim Jim
Chrysler transmission Paul?
No he runs Aisin only
68rfe = Chrysler trans
As69 = Aisin trans
Run her to a million !
Py DevEagle It’s at 500K, i don’t doubt it could go another 500K especially because it’s a Chrysler.
That motor is just now "broke in"...
Put in a Mishimoto Radiator...
I’m shocked a Ram/Dodge is running 500k miles later with no work done.
DUNE YXZ My 2013 4.7 has 454K and hasn’t been touched aside from fluid changes.
Had a 06 5.9 I put 1.5 million on before engine went and not unusual for Cummins to go over a Million and Cummins has a Million Mile Club for a reason something Duramax and Powerstroke don't have.
gains 3199 there’s million mile powerstrokes & duramax. Even million mile 6.0s out there.
@@blakejustice8212 Yeah a few😂
@@blakejustice8212 Also you don't know Diesels if you think the junk 6.0 is good😂
gains 3199 buddy I have 6.0 had it over 2 years, it’s bullet proofed tow daily with it almost everyday 10-15k lbs has not had any problems.?50k solid hard working miles, truck is a work horse.
@@blakejustice8212 I'm talking about 1/2 million to 1 million I don't think you will find many and I'm talking about stock trucks that don't need so called bulletproofed many Cummins go long miles without any mods.
Plastic Valve Cover🤯🤯
Garbage
I have a 2016
Nothing but trouble and repairs
This was an annoying video, get to the point.
