When I lost my job in the recession I was home a lot with no money searching for nutritious and frugal foods. From CZcams I learned a lot of Indian dishes and Korean dishes from Maangchi. I still cook both very often because they're so tasty and nourishing. The frugality is just a bonus! :D

I'm half Okinawan Japanese, and my mom makes these, but she dices up the daikon (the yellow pickle you stuck in the lunch box), fish cake, and spam, and mixes it into the rice before she stuffs the tofu skins. These are very tasty, and when we make too much rice, we just press the leftovers into rice balls! Enjoy!

As silly as it may sound, but I confess that she melted my heart when she said she prefers the pot also because we don't have a rice cooker :°) She's very kind, I haven't seen anyone using the pot because of us!

@barb rarick and no measuring cup! I learned half the rice you want plus one inch of water over the top or to the first finger joint's measure :D
Works great every time. Also for quinoa, millet and oats.

I am studying in the US and I SURVIVE on Yobuchobap! One of my Korean friends introduced me to this dish as I am a vegetarian and it was hard to find vegetarian dishes in Korean Cuisine. Your channel has helped me find great Korean dishes that are VEGETARIAN as well. I am a huge fan of Korean food and thanks to you, I can now cook so many dishes!!

I live in southeast asia, and since i watched maangchi's videos i always like to search for korean food in groceries store, but because i live in small town, we don't have Korean (spesialized) store here, it's only in big city, so there's only few of korean food i can get: gochujang, doenjang, glass noodle, and little packs of kimchi. I wish we have gim, ssalyeot, mulyeot and red pepper flakes available in our town..

Help, I've fallen in love with Maangchi's videos and I can't get up!
I hope to actually make one of your tasty dishes one day, especially one of the soups
