- Casa Marcos, Villaverde, Fuerteventura - Nice places to eat in Fuerteventura
We went to have lunch with friends at Casa Marcos in Villaverde in the north of Fuerteventura.
This is the new Casa Marcos as the old one was sold a year or so ago and is now called something else.
It really is a nice place and entirely newly built with probably the nicest gent's toilet in Fuerteventura. The food was very good.
It only has a small sign by the road at the moment and is set back from the main road. It is just the Corralejo side of the main area of Villaverde (with the pedestrian crossing traffic lights) The vehicle entrance is almost opposite the little church (that is next to the Escanfraga restaurant).

Yummmm food looks amazing
It was pretty good. Thanks for watching.
Looks like a beautiful venue with superb food. Loved the background music on your video too JP. I suspect Fuerte will be quieter than normal for the next few months with the virus situation ... stay safe and hopefully things will get back to normal before too long. Next time I'm in Fuerte I'll definitely try out Casa Marcos! :)
I think Fuerte will be empty shortly. Only one way traffic for the foreseeable future. Thanks for watching Alistair.
Looks like a lovely place and the food yummy
It was very nice. Thanks for watching Keith.
Great video JP! Dig in!
Thanks Pete - I did. If the Spanish government continues to panic and overreact it may be the last time we eat out for a while.
@@JPinFuerteventura stay safe!
My favorite is still casa vieja very nice staff and great food thankx for the content JP 👍👍👍
Casa Vieja is closed Jurre. It may not reopen.
Super expensive for Fuerte,, regardless of dessert menu. Try El Moral just down the road. Great video either way 👍
It's only money Mark. Not something I would do very often but ok now and again. El Moral is the old Casa Marcos.
El Moral is great MA! Went last week for the Lomo. Better value for the money!
This looks like a great place, John. Those ribs looked good and presentation of all the food look very appetising.
It was nice Stevie. Shan't be going back for a while though as from midnight last night all bars and restaurants are closed until further notice. We have to stay at home. 😕
@@JPinFuerteventura probably best to stay safe, John. We had to go to 24hr Tesco at 4.30am to get shopping after going at a reasonable time the previous day, only to find bare shelves. I heard the UK are treating the virus differently and expect 60% of the population to get it to create a herd vaccine. I'll hopefully not be doing that and just stay away from everyone.
Well the UK could be the sensible one
@@JPinFuerteventura time will tell, seems risky option. In Scotland they are not testing anyone. If you were to phone 111 they tell you to self isolate but I don't know how they will get official figures to determine how many actual cases there are.
Cor! Fancy stencilled flower.
It was wasn't it. Very artistic.
Thanks for the vid JP, I am always interested to know about the food where people are!
Hi Hugh. I hope you are well. Thanks for watching.
Hi JP
Like you, loved the old one but also the new one. I think its now called El Moral (The Mulberry) - I think Mark Alan may have things mixed up a little as they are the same place. In fact I believe it is run by members of the same family as the old one. Still excellent food and well worth a visit. Just for info, for those that also know the close-by Restaurant Casa Vieja, I believe this is now just Boutique B&B and no longer serve lunch or evenings meals. What a pity.
Stay safe during lock down.
The new Casa Marcos is run by the same family as the old one. Apparently they sold the place with the menu but not the name. Yes, the Casa Vieja is no longer open for food. Just the bar is open.
Yep...pub grub for me too. I did like the look of the mushrooms in pastry though.
They were really good Kenny. Thanks for watching.
Your looking very dapper in your shirt sir
Thanks Lee. It made a change from a t-shirt.
Im hungry now JP
Sorry about that. Well it looks like beans on toast for the next few weeks with all the bars and restaurants closed here from tomorrow.
And now I'm hungry. There goes my diet... 😊🤣
haha - sorry about that. Thanks for watching Steve.
Looks a nice place JP, thanks for sharing. Do you need to book for dinner?
I would say you don't but it never hurts I suppose. Thanks for watching Danny.
Hey JP tried this the other night for our wedding anniversary. It was great! Thanks for the tip! Planning on cycling over the volcano over the weekend. Fancy meeting for a coffee in your town on Saturday?
I am glad to hear you liked it Bev. Happy anniversary!
JP in Fuerteventura thanks JP
Thanks, John I guess you needed a treat after the monster clean up after the Calima ,how was it ? Great video made my mouth water, hope you and Sue enjoyed the new place good recommendation for them you never commented ? was it as nice as it looked I liked the prices Best wishes P x x x
We enjoyed it. Shan't be going back for a while as all bars and restaurants closed from tomorrow until further notice Peter.
I think we went to the original , was it a tapas restaurant? - a few years ago. Liked the look of the ribs😎 were they any good? 7 weeks and counting....
Yes it was Nick. So is this really too. The ribs were very good.
Oh my word, my pot noodle looks so sad and tame JP. Your grub on the other hand......luvly grubly!
We are on beans on toast for the next few weeks now that all the bars and restaurants are closed here from tomorrow. Thanks for watching Monty.
How often do you get calima?
We get them quite frequently, maybe every month or two. They are usually quite mild and don't cause problems, not like the one last month. Thanks for watching Lara.
@@JPinFuerteventura Thank you for your reply and your videos! Very interesting and informative!
Thanks JP and Cheers Went to a wedding years ago. Guy beside me ate half of a Chicken bones and all lol. Looking forward to a holiday in Feurteventura. Any restrictions ??
When are you coming? No chance in the immediate future I'm afraid Colin.
@@JPinFuerteventuraNo i,m sorry to say that. It,s a worry. If Feurteventura is Covid 19 free a could jump on a plane anytime ?
Well in theory it is as the only person who had it (that is known) was released from hospital after recovering and there have been no more reported cases. All flights here seem to now be cancelled - although aircraft are coming empty to take people home.
@@JPinFuerteventuraCheers JP the one thing you have is a strong Atlantic wind. No one has focused on that.
Are bars and restaurants open as usual
Jet2 have cancelled all flights to all parts of Spain including canaries & Balearics, so we may not be able to come after all...
Things can change quickly both ways Nick so who knows
As you have a lot of subscribers how about doing a vlog on the restrictions just applied here for at least the next 2 weeks. For example all tourist attractions closed, no travelling and ALL people unless doing essential things advised to stay at home, schools closed with parents advised to keep their children indoors with home schooling being arranged as are meals for children from poor families who normally have their main meal at school, old peoples centres closed, visiting restrictions at the hospital and old people's care homes, routine hospital and doctors appointments cancelled, religious processions stopped and churches closed, some shops already closed in the main shopping centre, all sporting events stopped, all gyms and fitness centres closed, cruise ships not allowed to dock, flights prohibited from Italy, Poland and Denmark and because what the WHO see as inactivity by the UK the probability that all flights from the UK will be stopped.
One of the problems is that the situation is changing so rapidly that a video is likely to be out of date almost as soon as I have filmed and uploaded it.
@@JPinFuerteventura I agree with Stratman, please keep your vids coming. Show us the island and how Covid-19 is affecting normal day-to-day life etc. The wife and I were due to fly with Jet2 arriving this Wednesday (18 March) but we were informed earlier this morning that ALL flights have been cancelled until further notice. It was going to be our first trip to the lovely island. We're gutted.
Well being confined to your hotel wouldn't have been much fun.
