It was Sue's birthday last week so I had the twice-annual almost impossible ritual of trying to buy her a present (including Christmas).
I hit on the idea of going to one of her favourite shops here, Solamente in Villaverde, to look for inspiration. I was unsuccessful but fortunately I got talking to one of the two owners who suggested a voucher. So that is what I did.
They sell lots of unusual items for the home including furniture, soft furnishings (carpets, curtains, bedding, cushions etc), kitchen stuff, ornaments, pictures and much more.
They also have a kitchen design and fitting service. The kitchens are installed by Shaun (the brother of one of the owners) who installed our kitchen and who I can definitely recommend.
If you are buying a property here you may want to visit if you want to know where to buy furniture in Fuerteventura. It is one of the most unusual furniture shop in Fuerteventura.

Yes j.p. Shops like that are a magnet for the lady’s took my wife & her friend to the one by the new lidil near caleta .got the seat reclined in the car and had a nice 50mins sleep. Thanks for sharing

Just showed my wife that shop on this vid she loved the stuff in it,now just got to convince her to move to Fuerteventura and say goodbye to the UK again having lived in Southern Spain for 12 years the UK has gone down hill since we left in 2003 and as for the weather here in the uk don't get me started on that subject,take care JP happy Birthday to the wife.
Well living here rather than southern Spain does have some advantages, the great climate for one. The only drawback (if you have dogs) is that you can't just put them in that car and go back to the UK for a visit. Good luck with convincing her. Sue says thank you.

Hello JP lovely shop. Not really a mans thing, but I do think that you are brave going in there. Horses for courses but fun. Glad to see that both of you are doing well. The covid scare was nasty, but will it ever end? Will we ever be safe?? We both would love to be out their with you. Shame because we love the Island and the way of life, so different to UK. So nice. Hahaha! I think I'm in the same camp as you JP ... I'm not a fan of that kind of shopping, eg I've only been persuaded by my 'better half' to go into IKEA twice. I've driven past Solamente several times and managed never to have been 'dragged in'. However, I must admit I like the look of Solamente's laid back, chilled, typically Fuerte kind of goods ... next time I'll make a point of going in! Absolutely love love love that shop. Every year we come to fueterventura I honestly keep a case space worth free and I bring back arts and crafts as its my passion; I'm a secondary art teacher you see and my students love me bringing back all sorts of crafts fir my classroom and because textiles, ceramics and silversmiths are my degree choice Im always looking for new crafts and a way to support this aspect on the island. Will definitely be wanting to visit that shop. Not sure how I'd get the Croc bench back lol! Enjoy tomorrow

Love your videos JP. Hope you are all keeping well. As far as i am aware you can travel to Fuerteventura and back to the UK without any self isolation. I have been on this case with the UK government for about 4 weeks. Take care.......:)

@@JPinFuerteventura and yes, it is certainly a nice shop with very nice accessories but I think you also need to have a bit of naturalness in dealing with customers. I made some purchases for my villa in casilla de costa but I will not walk in that shop anymore, I did not like the owners
