Another great video. I can't wait to get a go at walking floor, it beats the Class 1 multidrop I've been on for the last few weeks. It's far better getting bulk loads than a pallet or two several times a day at places that are not designed for artics, places moaning at drivers cos they're not booked in, or there's a queue and we can't wait long, or refused as there's no fork lift and no tail lift, then doing collections and people moaning if we're late due to traffic or not enough space on the trailer as they haven't told the depot how many pallets they have. OMG I can't wait for bulk loads again and simple night trunking in June! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yeah multi drop is disgusting lol
This bulker work is ok but containers is sooo much better in my opinion.

I start my 1st hgv job June 3rd doing pallet multidrop. 10 / 12 drops a day. I will have someone with me for the first few weeks until they feel I can do it alone. Hopefully I haven't made a big mistake lol.

Don't look at it as a mistake, you need experience so regardless push on and once you have a year or 2 under your belt you're golden, best luck mate 👍

@@M0RLEY the main thing is don't let yourself feel pressured. Safety and your licence comes first. If you're with a company the sends you out with a mentor for a while that's a very good sign. If you have any issues with reverses, access, etc, just ask for a banksman and if no assistance is available call it in and say it's a serious risk personally. Never be fooled by the "Oh the last guy got it in dead easy". Better to ask for help than hit something. Good luck in your new job lad.

@@truckitprayle some days it's mega tough with the artic being sent to where the rigids usually go, you rock up with the artic instead of the usual 18T and they're like "WTF????". Yeah I love the bulk loads, I did some container work in 2022, loved it. Anything where you just back on a bay and wait to be tipped is a doddle. Roll on June when I'm back to night trunking 😃😃😃

Great video it seems your work load down south is going similar to ours in the northwest were container drivers but have 6 drivers subbed out for curtain multi drop work I’m not to keen on as they max out our hours but now he have just got a walking floor and there looking to get a second walking floor trailer to get me working it not pulled one before so will be a good learning process as long as we’re staying busy with work willing to give it a try but do prefer the container work at the moment

Yeah it's not the worst work in the world i guess, but i can't wait for container work to get back up and running.

That roundabout is a bloody nightmare in anything t other than a car or small van, they use the left services lane to go straight over on to beaulie all the time 🤦‍♂️ I used to use it every day and it was a pain in the arse

I landed my first job starting tuesday. Couldnt get class 1 work but got a class 2 job instead. Couldnt say no to the money. £18.39ph. would this class as experience to help land a class 1 job in a few months time.

Yes and no mate, they will take in to consideration that your put on the road in a larger vehicle but when it comes to class 1 its a different ball game, so basically it wont hurt but wont necessarily mean it will help.

You have an experience how to drive a truck. Now you need an experience how to manoeuvre trailer. Reversing and turning is the most important thing while driving Class 1.
