This father especially will always stay in my heart, & his wife & daughters, mother in law & all his family. From the first appeal of his I saw in which he said,” I will come please take me & release them,” I hoped & prayed for him. The video of his wife & daughters being held in the crowded vehicle surrounded & physically held by their captors, & driven away…..His many appeals. He is eloquent, & yes, attractive/handsome, his family so beautiful…Maybe all of that combined made his story so compelling though I truly hope best for all the hostages & victims. So so happy to recently see clip of his reunion with his daughters & wife. It is not over for them by a long shot. May never be though I & im certain many will be praying they continuously move towards healing & wholeness for all their lives.
Yes the dad is a defender and protector, only men who lost the right to protect their women and women who had lost their men to protect them can understand the depth of what he was talking about. Happy his family was reunited!
Now it is his job to step up to the plate and be a HUSBAND and father for the three of them until his natural death. No cop out from guilt. It is not his place to burden his wife or children w/his guilt. He must deal w/that w/a therapist, his parents, his siblings and his friends. It is not the wife’s place to help him heal from his guilt b/c it is her place to heal herself for her children and to be able to be a wife again. Their security is lost and he now must be their security and strong for them as they progress through their healing which may take years. He cannot, at any point, walk away from them b/c of his guilt or he will utterly, absolutely destroy any chance of a complete healing. I don’t really care how tough it is for him, it is now his cross to carry.

I think I saw a video a week after Oct 7 he was interviewed, his whole family got abducted. He looked desperate, he said recalling that there were times coming home from work he’d like to rest and have quiet time but impossible to have it when you have children’s noise, jumping or running around the house but when they were abducted he said what he’d give if only to have them back with him at home and have all that noise and chaos, something like that. I am relieved for him now, that his family is back. Thank God for that🙏
His wife, Doron Katz-Asher, and their 2 small daighters, Raz and Aviv, were among the people who were taken as hostages on October 7th by Hamas. He (Yoni) was a strong advocate for their liberation. Luckily, Doron, Raz and Aviv were released some days ago and they are back home.
