    Playback templates look very flexible.. Really an impressive upgrade release. Many great features, including this one.

    I really like your concise, orderly and to the point instructions, I prefer your videos to all other DORICO instructional videos. Please correct me if I am mistaken, but most of them are outdated, so the location of many things is different in the newer versions, which for a beginner makes thing awkward and difficult. Please update your videos, specially this one and the one about Expression Maps, this is for DORICO 3, I have DORICO 5.1 12 PRO. I really want to learn from your videos. Thank you.

      Yes we are planning to update some videos about playback templates and expression maps etc. The concepts and ideas are the same but the VST rack is now on the left instead of right in Play mode and the expression maps dialog is in the Library menu now.

    Trembling with expectation while watching all Dorico 3 videos. Are you Steinberg team actually baking the tool we all have stopped dreaming of ?

    The new feature is nice, but I’m sad to see an complex, unintuitive dialog box added to Dorico - specifically the workflow at 4:36. I paused and looked at that part of the interface before the narrator explained it, and I couldn’t figure it out. That is a failure of user interface design - it doesn’t have to be that way.
    Here are some ideas for making that Entries list self-explanatory like it should be. The list could display help text in the center only when it is empty, explaining that entries at the top would be loaded first, and explaining what an “entry” is. Or you could add a (?) button next to the label Entries that shows a large tooltip explaining how the list works. And you could automatically number each entry with “1.”, “2.”, and so on to imply the order of loading.
    From what I’ve seen in the videos, Dorico’s main user interface is quite easy to use, but please don’t forget to ask your UI designers for feedback when designing rarely-used dialog boxes too. Bad design in one part of the app can sour the whole experience.

    Great inprovements, these sound changes will be very useful. I'm thinking about buying Dorico, but that will be great if I could test it before.
    Will the trial version be available again?

    • @dorico
      @dorico  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes, there will be a trial version in a couple of weeks.

    What about when you have more instruments than channels? (16)
    How do you add more channel sounds for each individual instrument if there are only 16 but I have 19 instruments

    This seems really cool, though fairly complex to set up, and hard to predict how it will behave in every situation. I foresee problems/issues. Hope I'm wrong.
    Why is it necessary to specify manual/automatic in the template?

    • @dorico
      @dorico  Před 4 lety +1

      The manual/automatic is just a way to filter your (manual) endpoint configurations from the factory (automatic) ones. It will be predictable every time you set up or choose a playback template so if you have issues or are confused, please let us know on the forum / facebook etc

  • @andyfirthmusicproducts5226

    Hi Anthony. I'm using Kontak to create a big band template but kontakt is not showing as an available library in the manual entries area, only Halion and noteperformer?

    • @dorico
      @dorico  Před 2 lety

      I think you've solved this now as you mentioned using Kontakt on FB?

    Great! I have Iconica as well as Noteperformer. Noteperformer shows up but not Iconica :( Is this a coming feature?

    • @DavidWood2

      3:45 - I noticed Iconica Sections and Players showing up as a factory template, but it isn't in Dorico Pro 3.0 (or if it is, I can't find it). I do have Iconica Sections and Players installed with the appropriate licence on my eLicenser.

    How to add other libraries to an score that I wrote with different libraries? In Dorico 4. Thanks if any one can help me.

    • @dorico
      @dorico  Před 11 měsíci

      If you have a number of libraries you can create a playback template that uses e.g. brass from one library and strings from another etc down to each individual instrument if you wish.

    Noteperformer wont load after I installed Dorico 3. I cant find it under Playback Template. I even reinstalled Noteperformer and restarted my Mac. The Dorico forum threat does not discuss this issue. Please help.
