I went last weekend. Super fun!
Thanks for eventually letting me drive...
Jessie loves to hang out at Spider Lake in the Alltrack
@@10RRASK she tried to bring it.
Just picked up a 94 Trooper for camping.. So far so good.. Super Fun Vehicle
Love it Kris. Nicely done. Cant wait for part 2!
Can't wait for part 2!
Well done video for sure! Can't wait for part 2. Iron Cowboy
We’ll get there.
I look forward to the series! Great work.
Thanks Ryan!
I’m here for it.
Cant wait for part 2!
Excited for everyone to see it! In the meantime I think we’ll pull the motor out of the parts truck.
Mild is an understatement! Most of Spider Lk is doable with decent tires and a stock SUV in 2wd. Winter makes it mildly more challenging. Group of 20-40 headed there this Saturday.
Agreed. It's a good baseline and foundation for future adventures.... which we most definitely will do. Stay warm!
Ive done the whole ORV route in spider lake with a front wheel drive Taurus wagon (gambler 500) granted it took some skill and lines to do it - but i did it! The looks I got from jeepers were priceless!!!
You triggered my Google assistant. Haha. Also I've heard Spider Lake is super fun. Looks awesome.
So fun I went back a couple days later… but…that’s another episode. 🤔
Great job Kris, keep up the awesome videos.
Thanks Jim!
Great work 👍🏻
Thanks Andy!
Hell yeah dude. Part 2 should be a fun watch. I need to get my 4Runner up to Spider.
It’s a beautiful place.
That is a rough start, but it was really nicely filmed and edited. Looking forward to part 2.
What is luck anyway?
@@overcrestproductions Well we won't know if it was luck until part 2 I expect :D
Love the trooper!
Awesome stuff!
Thanks!
Awesome man. I bought a 1989 Trooper with the v6 last year for super cheap. I live in Brainerd and the UP. Wondering how off roady it is. I did put aisen manual hubs on it.
This is why I keep a box of fuses and a test light in all my shitboxes. Great channel - making my way though all your videos as tonight’s entertainment. :)
Good plan. I usually have tools but I left them all in the 911.
Hey man any idea what vehicle the seats came from? They look like they fit the trooper real nice. I have an 88.
They are aftermarket recaros.
Looking forward to part 2. Be warned off roading is highly addictive haha.
It would appear so. Just what I need…another money bomb.
Where's the off roading in this whole video?
It’s coming in another episode. I had to go back!!!
That’s the first time I’ve ever seen a Discovery on roll-back! 😉
Suuuuuure. 🤣
Yeah dude those things are notorious garbage. Check out yt channel lrtime. He's obsessed with them and for every 1 off road driving video he has literally 10 videos of MAJOR repairs across different examples of said garbage vehicle. Tdi v6 engine is common to snap crankshafts. Wiring problems, fuel delivery problems. Vacume advance failures, suspension component failures, it goes on and on and on.
Just picked up a 91! No issues except a freaking leaking oil cooler line unfortunately
I’m having the same issue currently
@@rafaelsanchezjr8890 so I couldn’t find the correct fittings. I guess they were specific to Japan. I took the old one, mated to a new one and welded em together.
First gen Troopers are awesome, rock solid vehicles. But you are dealing with 30 plus year old trucks. If they have not been maintained properly, there will be a lot of old parts to be replaced and maintenance needed. Definitely worth it to invest elbow grease and money for restoring and maintaining them.
Iron Cowboy, are you releasing weekly?
Haha I’m going to try. 🤘🏻
The fuse box. Always the stupid fuse box with the trooper. I have a loose terminal in the distributer fuse and it took me weeks to figure out.
I can’t wait to shitcan the whole thing.
@@overcrestproductions You should not. With proper care, the Trooper is tough as nails and super reliable. Consider its age and give it the care it needs.
@@mikethemike6406 I think it’s going to be a merge of two fuse boxes. You’ll see what we mean later!
@@overcrestproductions I have added on a bit myself too. Will keep watching for your updates.
Oh geez that’s a rough start. Too much fluid coming out of the LR😬 yikes
Lol you mentioned a reliable car and only the trooper made it back on its own power.
My thoughts exactly. Haha
You got one of the best vehicles for off roading. Solid as hell. Shoot me a dm on ig if you got any isuzu related questions :)
Troopers rock absolutely! I have an 86 and an 89. Would not drive anything else. But yeah, at 30 plus years old, it will take some maintenance and fixing up.
