Portable AC Install
1. If installing into a horizontal slide window, ensure your window is between 28 6/16 in. and 54 15/16 in.
2. Remove packing straps with scissors and lift packaging. The manual is contained in the intake/exhaust tube.
3. Assemble as many sliders as necessary to fit the window.
4. If the window opening is less than the minimum length of a single slider, use the slider with the hole in it and cut it to the correct size. Use the window slider bolts to secure the window sliders at the proper length.
5. Cut adhesive foam seals A and B to the correct lengths and attach them to the window frame.
6. Insert the window slider kit into the window opening and close the window to secure it in place. Cut the non-adhesive foam gasket C to fit the width or height of the window and insert it between the panes to prevent outside air from entering the window.
7. If desired, install the security bracket with two screws.
8. For a hung window, attach the air outlet adapter to the exhaust pipe and rotate it 90 degrees to secure it.
9. For a hung window, attach the air outlet adapter to the window's slider kit. You are now ready to use. Continue to Sliding Window Installation.
10. For a sliding window, assemble the exhaust adapter by combining exhaust adapter parts A, B, and C.
11. Attach the exhaust adapter onto the exhaust hose.
12. Always press the release tabs on the clips to detach them
13. Attach the exhaust adapter onto the window slider kit
You're now set up for use! So keep cool with Danby all summer long!

Window kit is Flimsily, what mount 4 screws all on one side so it has a lean to the side without screws? who thought of that??
This video lies about using the slider for a sliding glass door. At 3:51, they show the technician raising the hose apparatus to the fixture, BUT NOT ATTACHING IT. That's because the hole is cut too close to the top and right side of the slider, SO IT WILL NOT ATTACH. I had to make styrofoam buffers for the side and top of the sliders. They clearly forgot to incorporate the use case of sliding glass doors into the design of the sliders. The hose apparatus itself is too elaborate; why not use the same ANSI dryer hose design everyone else does? It works fine for dual-hose applications like this.

Plus, in order for the interface to reach that high on the door frame, the whole, heavy AC unit has to be raised, as the hose will not reach that high.
@@christopherrouse8602 can confirm I had to put the ac unit on my tv stand in order to get it to stay in place. Course now my tv blocks the cool air coming out.the hole thing is quite annoying.
This comment needs more likes so everyone can see. The hole is definitely cut too close to the edge and does not attach.
If the manufacturer does not agree, please upload another video detailing how it can be done. Don't tell us to contact your support, show us how it can be done.
I regret buying this machine for this exact reason and I will not buy Danby again.

I bought my danby last year and couldn't use the panel, the instruction don't coinside with what the panel looks like - so I had to use sytrofoam in place of the panel. I tried to call them again this year (6/19/24) and again, no return call. After spending $700 for a machine, you would think it would work. Also, the wifi instructions DO NOT work. One of the reason's I bought this was so I could turn the AC on when I was driving home and walk in to a cool house... .Can't do that. It's a waste of money... very disappointed.

Note: The spindle cap is threaded backwards to keep it from spinning off during use, so remember to turn it the "other way". I also like that the lights, which are quite bright, turn off after a few moments so they do not bother me at night. The remote has to be aimed just right, but does work.

In the video it shows the guy setting up with the exhaust module attached to the hose for a hung window. Then he skips & attaches the module to a sliding window that is already prepared with the exhaust slider "A" cut out in place. He never does complete the hung window set up. Confusing unless the exhaust hose does not need the exhaust fitting. Needless to say that fitting looks like it is for sliding patio doors or a sliding window. Thanks again.

Video is out of date, 3:23 shows putting together piece B with A and C after doing the screw but you need to put all three pieces together before putting in the one screw

My machine doesn’t seem to have anything for the air outlet adapter to slide onto , is it defective?
My horizontal sliding window has the height 56 inches. Just a bit greater than the maximum height of this model. How poor.
what do you do with the drain hose? nothing in the manual or in this video does it mention what to do with it

What about when you have to move your 'portable' unit from a slider, to a small hung window. It's very hard to do and you can't affix the moldings around the window, as there is nothing for the other window?? Taking me up to 30mins. at each window, that's 1 hr. each night. Please help.

The quality of the hose is not great especially not being long enough. I have my window in the middle so I have to adjust the hose on an angel and wanted to extend the hose. Is that possible? Can you direct me to a link to buy a circular black hose extension with the window attachment (piece that goes on window and has holes so the extension fits to it)?

hello! did you have any luck finding any sort of extension? got an identical model for my mother and the prongs on the window attachment broke off almost immediately (and the replacement parts are all backordered) so I am trying to help her find a solution. I totally agree the quality of the hose and attachments are lacking, especially given the price of the unit as a whole. Really disappointing

What tool will easily cut the window slider for sizing? A basic saw or something else?

is it possible that the ring is not necessary? I just received mine and if I have the ring, it just sits an inch above the tube.. but if I remove it, it attaches just fine ...
Is there a minimum height your window needs to open for the window slider kit?
Mine fell out of the window and killed my cat while I wasn't home. It was running for 2 days and there was water damage to the condo below mine, and a thief came in the window and stole everything but the broken A/C thing that had burned up.
Did the thief take the dead cat as well?😢😮

Should the window screen be removed before the hose adapter is connected to the window slider? The hose adapter partition protrudes beyond the window slider and pushes the window screen out.

My v.o.n needs one, so after seeing how great mine works, she's getting the same one.
1000 better than the cheap Midea portable a/c tha barely worked and lasted only one summer i just threw out for a real pa/c, thanks Danby

I am worried that there is no screen or mesh to cover the end of the hose… It seems like insects will just fly into the unit… is this a problem?
