    Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! czcams.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install.This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

    There is a vertical piece that is supposed to be used in vertical window not the way you install that I’m sorry to tell you.
    I have a couple of these units in the box there should’ve been two pieces that you screwed together and the third piece that divides the hot air in the cool air it gets mounted onto that piece and go straight into the sliding window.

      Yes, you are correct. We had some trouble getting the adaptor for vertical windows to fit our window. I tried again this Summer and was able to use the adaptor to get the AC unit to face out. Just needed to use a bit more force to squeeze it in. Thanks for pointing this out.

    Does it need to drain bucket 🪣?

    • @livinginvancouverbc2247
      @livinginvancouverbc2247 Před rokem +1

      Not this model. It self-evaporates the water. I'm thinking of buying one.
      EDIT: there is an explanation at 10:12

    Why would there be a hose for the water when this is an interior AC? Where does the water collect? How do you dump it? I have searched for many videos for this answer and Danby wants to keep this part a secret.

      Most portable air conditioners will have a dehumidify function. You should hook up the hose for the water to drain into a bucket or something while using this function. Not sure about this specific model but there should be a cap on the back that you can unscrew :)

    There’s an adapter for the hose to connect to the window so that the hose doesn’t have to bend to over the side.
