- We added the OVS (Overland Vehicle Systems) TMBK 2 Rooftop Tent to our ROG 12RK Adventure Trailer! We give you our thoughts and experience with this rooftop tent on the ROG! We are NOT sponsored by OVS! These are our own opinions on products that we PURCHASED! Hope this can help someone who is thinking about this or a similar purchase!
Maybe we'll get to see each other when y'all come back to persimmon y'all have fun keep posting the videos
Oh yeah! We will definitely keep sharing our adventures! Blessings my friend!
Tent looks very much like our Tuff Stuff Trailhead except it’s rainfly is a lighter grey color.
The tent has been solid. Our 10 slept in it during a storm and stayed dry and safe. We had no idea it was storming downstairs in the RangeRunner 😂
Our awning on the other hand…
Oh, ours has a telescoping ladder… upgrade if you can.
So far the tent has been a great add! Allowed our daughter and son in law to come and hang with us a couple of days. They slept in the Camper and we took the tent! I have a telescoping ladder on offer in fact! Great tip!
Heading over Monday (to another state) to check out a ROG 12RK. It was on my very short list of 3 campers and will be the last one I look at. No12RKs seem to be available anywhere near where I live. Eliminated one from my short list already - (it was just too 'fancy'). My other choice I really like but it's from a MAJOR manufacturer and the customer service reviews tank....like, 6 feet under 'tank'. Sight unseen I am leaning towards the Rog 12RK. Thanks for the tent info.....a tent is def a requirement for going condo and penthouse living.
We have really enjoyed our ROG! Hope you are able to enjoy one as well!
My plan is to get the RKSS in the spring. Keep doing reviews on the Encore. And great camping spots. Thx.
Dude! So cool! You will love it! Been a camper in the past? Or will this be your first one? Be sure and keep us posted on your future adventures! Thanks for hanging with us! Glad to have ya Gangster!
Nice tent! I would have to add some thickness to the mattress. Why sleep in the tent with a camper? It certainly gives you options if you have time for it to dry when you are breaking camp. Thanks for sharing, God bless
Yes, we will likely add a bit more foam to “fluff up” the existing one a bit! Yes, options! We like options! Blessings my friend!
I appreciate the video. Looking at options for my ROG 12RK. Question - With the tent stowed for travel on the roof, do you think it would still be possible to load a canoe on top of it? Would it need some special made additional support to hold the weight of the canoe off the tent or could the tent support it? Thanks!
I think you probably could, just not sure how much pressure you could put on it as it will be resting on the ladder for the most part. Might have to get creative to make it work, but I think there is probably a way! Blessings!
@@TheRunawayGang Thanks for the reply!
Any concerns about the weight? The ROG 12RK site claims that the roof rack only holds 100 lbs per crossbar, which seems low to me
No issues at all! Does great! On the road and setup! I weigh 185 and my wife is 125. That’s over 400 lbs up there including the tent with no issues.
@@TheRunawayGang Re-reading the Encore site, it does say the 100 lbs is a dynamic rating, meaning weight up there while driving down the road; no static weight (parked) rating given, but seems like no concerns, thanks!
Did it hurt your gas mileage a lot the tent, and the back awing is it retractable
Haven’t noticed any additional loss of fuel economy beyond the loss from towing. Not sure what you mean by retractable? It is the typical manual roll up type awning on campers of this type. Hope that answers your questions! Thanks a ton for dropping by!😎
What up with y'all guys
Hey Charles! How are ya man! We are doing great!
Not good guys lost my mom in June I don't think you'll ever matter
Oh man! So sorry to hear that! Yes dude! We ALL matter! {{{hugs}}}
