- Is the Encore RV ROG 12RK Adventure Trailer worth spending your hard-earned money on? We spill the beans on what we REALLY think about this camper! The comments and opinions in this review are derived 100% from our own personal experience with the ROG 12RK Adventure Trailer! We are NOT sponsored by Encore RV or any RV Dealership! In fact we aren't sponsored by ANYONE! We are GANGSTERS!
We share all of our PROS and CONS with you!
We also talk about some things to think about when considering the ROG 12RK Adventure Trailer!
Finally we give the ROG 12RK a "Gangster Score"!
Find out for yourself what The Runaway Gang REALLY thinks about their ROG 12RK Adventure Trailer!
Your making the bed trick looks good! My wife usually does that after I get things stabilized and am setting up the outside stuff. It's a trifold mattress, but same idea in the Runaway. She gets the AC cranking while she does that!
PS. We had a great weekend camping without the kids. Saturday was a little rainy so we went into the little local town - Corydon and had breakfast at a nice little diner then went to a few of the shops. Came back and spent the rest of the day playing board games until it was time for dinner.Good stuff!
Pam is the smart “Gangster”! So glad you guys had a wonderful time on your little “kidless” trip! As a couple you really need those times periodically, just to kinda recharge! Blessings!
great review on the camper, I just got one and thanks to you guys I learned a lot. thanks again and many blessings.
Oh man! That is awesome! So glad the video was of help to you! See ya out on the road! Adventure away!
Great video! We’re picking up a 10MC on Thursday! It will be a first camper for us.
Best tip for the fitted sheet!! 😮 thank you ❤
So glad it was helpful to ya! Thanks so much for dropping by!
Love you folks , the real deal and good interview.
Hey thanks so much for sharing! You made our day! Blessings!
great review!
Hey there FreeSpiritgathering! So glad ya dropped by to check us out!
Hey guys - I linked a CURT 28272 trailer jack foot / skid plate which would give you a couple more inches and let you toss the piece of wood. You must be set for auto delete of comments with links. Had one on a trailer and it protects the end of the jack. With a wheel under the jack my Haulmark cargo trailer would take off on the slightest incline - so the jack foot was a better solution.
It might be set to hold for review any questionable content! It might consider a link to be questionable content? I will go see if I can find a comment that I need to approve! I will check out the CURT 28272 for sure! Thanks dude!
@@TheRunawayGang No worries, Mark. I commented last night and left an amazon link. Then POOF it was gone. My site is set to hold comments with links for moderation - or deletion. Can't remember. So I thought "OOPS!" and reposted without the link.
WE use that front bin for all our hoses, cables, etc so when we set up, we just open up that door and everything is there. On the SAE connectors we have 2 flood lights, and a USB Adapter. I kind of wish there were speakers on the passenger side.
Ain’t that front bin just the bomb!? We love it! For me I am glad that all of the speakers are under roof because in my experience the “outdoor” speakers just disintegrate from the elements in a year or two and quit working and then ya just have a big hole in the side of your camper! That’s been my experience anyway! Hahaha!
I just purchased this camper…meaning, your camper..lol. I was wondering why the wheel no longer fits, the microwave was removed and the awnings are different. Love the upgrades you did. Thank you!!!
Yes, we always remove the microwaves from our campers as we never use them and prefer the space we gain! You will enjoy the heck out of it! Great camper!
Cool idea for making the bed.
Thanks! We try! 😎😎😎
I really like Renogy upgrade and also later add inverter. I have been looking at ROG both models.
Yeah the Renogy stuff seems to work well and work well together!
Good bed making hack. Nice little trailer.
Thanks!
We are considering purchasing the 12rkss, because we are in Canada we have to purchase sight unseen. 😢
Your video and tips were great. Do you have any other tidbits that we should consider? Also, have you used it in cold weather?
Great video!
I just purchased the 12BH (we have 2 kids and needed the extra sleeping space). I do wish we could stand inside, however, because of the low height, I can fit it in my (non-RV) garage. This is a huge plus for me!
I have the same rain issue, so I'm going to try your front wheel hack - Thanks for the tip!
Can you send me a link to which mounts you got for your rack for the shovel/axe/etc.? I have been looking around and yours seem to fit the existing rack really nicely.
So glad the video was helpful to ya my friend! If you email parts @encore-rv.com that have all of the exact posts you need to add the axes, shovel and ladder. I think it was just under $700 for everything!
Here is the link to the video I did on the survival series upgrades! czcams.com/video/8oRSl_i9tFQ/video.html
Thank you so much! Happy camping out there!
Hey Mark! So funny to see you here we just started looking at the ROG you guys still loving it!?
Yes we do love it! I would say more and more! Just ordered an ovs rooftop tent to add to ours! We will be at ocracoke in later this month if ya wanna come over and check it out in person!
@@TheRunawayGang wow for sure let us know if we can swing it we’d definitely like to come see it. Which dealership did you use when you got it?
@@mjahuna we drove down to southland rv near Atlanta as they had the best price for the ROG 12RK….23k out the door…
@@TheRunawayGang 🤙🤙🤙 thank you for the tip!
I have a first generation SS (2nd generation 12RK) and the water valves are behind the wall instead of under the sink, that's kind of a big con for me.
Hey there! So are you talking about the valves for draining the water? Not sure what valves you are referring to. The only valves I have seen are under the trailer. One on each side. Haven’t pulled the bedroom wall yet, but it is my understanding there is another valve for winterizing behind that wall? I will likely modify the plumbing if that is the case.
What do you do about heater vent that mattress covers
We actually haven't used the heat yet other than when we tested out when we first got it! My plan is to build a small spacer to hold the mattress away from the vent to allow draw in! I will post up a video when I build that! Blessings!
We have ran the heater on ours with no issues.
I am guessing that there is no heat source for hotwater that comes with the camper besides heating from the stove?
Correct! No hot water! We should have mentioned that! Sorry we missed that!
@@TheRunawayGang You would think that they thought it was necessary to have a tv and microwave installed that they would have included some type of source for hot water for showers... Thank you for your responce
I was going to snag one of these back in June(still intend to, things just didn't line up at that moment).
My plan was to remove microwave, and add a H/W heater. Couple options, there are "suitcase" style, and it could be plumbed into the faucet(has 2 connections, just both tied to cold), hung off the side of the camper, or, a compact storage tank unit in place of the microwave(not my favorite). Easy enough mod if you have the right tools..
Just a thought. Thanks for the video.
Is there an A/C unit?
Yes, there is an A/C unit! Freeze ya right out of there if ya need it to! Only runs on shore power though....
Does the fridge use a lot of electricity
No, it actually has done a great job so far! Overnight we drop to about 85% capacity and can get it back up to 100% usually by around 2pm! We run the fridge, the fan, the water pump, lights and charge all of our electronic devices and it does GREAT! Hope that answers your question! Thanks a bunch for dropping by my friend!
Get a kid lock for your fridge I saw another you tuber did that so it will stay shut
Thanks for the tip!
