This is one of those CZcams channels when you can’t wait for content to come out.
Seriously! I was starting to lose it. I found myself sitting in the corner of my room, arms hugging my knees, repeating the words "COMING UP" endlessly. xD
True
Agreed!
@@Loulito nah, it's.... coooooooming up! German custom to lengthen the first word
I use carbon fiber towels to keep me busy inbetween episodes
The 4K quality takes the watching excitement to an entirely another level.
Highly appreciate all the dedication you are creating through these episodes.
You know, I was watching the episode and thinking "this looks different... well it is a bigger car than usual!"
Did not realise the image quality was better, and an wider angle, until Sreten pointed it out :)
Good job, great content as always with you.
Loved the US episodes.
Thank you.
I'm watching in 1440p quality, because my monitor doesn't go up to 4K and rewinding and all that sort of jumping on the timeline is demanding and may cause a bit choppy video at times, but I can too already see a clear difference with the old camera and the new one. For example in the outro that clock on the wall had blurry numbers with the old camera. With the new one the numbers are visible and not blurry at all.
The quality turned out to be great Sreten. The settings seemed to be correct on this video so keep up the good work my man. :D
@@MrBrander please tell me what time it is, I´m watching in 480p (thought it was some kind of dart board)
I'm not gonna lie, I was 120% expecting Streten to drop the exhaust on the floor. That was impressive.
The dude's name is Sreten, not Streten.
@@Adlerwacht Shit, you are correct about the spelling of his name. I've been misspelling it from the start; thanks for the heads-up, friend.
I wouldn't be so brave I would have used the chains to tie down the exhaust to the stand.
@@Adlerwacht .. and don't forget his Starbucks name: "Mike"
This channel is making me buy more and more tools and tackle tougher and tougher jobs. Thank you so much for all the inspiration!!!!
@Dacia Sandero guys Indeed! The shit they do to make a buck is ridiculous. Yet most people have no clue what it takes to do the job right. Hopefully, after watching the master at work, they better understand. We can always hope.
I‘m pretty sure I spent already over 1000€ in tools only due to this channel hahaha
I just buy the tools and keep on watching youtube videos.

That makeshift oven for the calipers was genius!
The new camera is a definite improvement. It looked good before but now it’s even better.
hot tip* when changing brakelines/ calibers put piece of wood between driver's seat and brakepedal (pushing pedal slightly) this will stop brakefluid from dripping while removing / installing new parts!
If you’d use a potato to film I would still watch it. You’re a great example that storytelling and what you film is more important then the camera you use. Bad audio would be a deal breaker. I’d rather watch a 480p video with great audio then 8k 60p video with terrible sound. Luckily audio is also pretty good with your videos.
Enjoy the new camera. If you need anything or have any questions on video production or editing, you can always reach out.
The flamenco-injected cleaning sequence was just like pure magic! Thank you!
Now we can finally see the grain on those OSB walls back there. Worth the investment!
I love how you always use all the safety equipment
Sreten you made me buy a m62 e53 x5... I couldn't help myself hahaha!
Coooooming up, you're broke, for the rest of your life. Don't worry so am I. I have the M52 E53. Bye bye all our money.
I thought there was one more big thing to add to this project - the all important Heated Seats for those cold Frankfurt mornings.
I really wanted to, but it's a lot of work on this car to the point that I don't have the desire to do it. Heating elements are sewn into the leather, and there's no way I'm gonna find used seats in this color, in good condition that have heaters. And frankly, would rather work on E31 than mess with that.
@@M539Restorations fair enough too.
@@M539Restorations What about a water parking heater, which warms up the interior (and thus seats), oil and engine using a little fuel burner? I really like the engineering of the newer Eberspächer Hydronic S3, as it FINALLY uses a brushless motor, and lasts thousands of hours, unlike the normal brushed ones, which fail a lot faster due to the (non-replacable) brusches wearing out. There are premade install kits available for most vehicles, so the install is usually close to factory-like. Also, a fuel burning water heater with multiple redundant safety systems approved by the TÜV is far less likely to cause a fire than a heater wire sewn into flammable seat cussions (as long as you properly screw the exhaust down and make sure it is far enough away from plastic parts, for which the same rules as for the engine exhaust apply). Though I would certainly not recomment those off-brand ones, as they often lack said safety systems, and can cause a fire, which, in my opinion, is really quite a good reason to spend a few hundred € more on a genuine Eberspächer or Webasto unit, although I currently like the Eberspächer S3 more because of its brushless fan.
@@unmountablebootvolume Great idea and better than heated seats. Post a link to their site please.
@@M539Restorations Sreten, i once had this problem on my 1992 750i. A local car upholstery shop took the seat apart, let the old heating element in it´s place and put another retrofit style heating element under it. Away from the fact that the seat was heating slightly sluggish after this, it worked fine, and the repair was not too dear.
The best way to work on a car... laying on my bed eating a Pot Noodle and watching someone else do the work! Another brilliant video as usual Sreten!
The editing while removing the heat shield is just perfect. Chef's kees
I can't wait to see your lady's reaction when you hand over the keys to her. Because it's the only reason you got one. And then the way you've put that one back together is amazing. It's like leaving a dealership with a brand new car. Love what you do and seeing the whole process. Very teaching to any vehicle..
Her reaction: "What the hell is this Sreten? You work on beautiful BMWs all day long and I get this ugly-ass SUV that drives like a truck and rolls over in corners? Do I look like an American soccer mum?"
She's receiving a BMW that'll be wholly sorted out where it matters most. She will be thrilled, I guarantee it!
You are the only channel I set notifications for. And I recently joined your patreon community, that's how much I appreciate your videos.

@@st3althyone I'm not even a BMW "fan boy", but love his content! I especially love the "Top Gear" style intro 😂
This video is literally the definition of kickback, grab a snack (or 2) & relax!
Very happy with the 4k quality. This video reminds me of all the pain of doing suspension work on the driveway, rusted bolts, can't get bits out and back in like ball joints etc.
Love the way that you buy proper OE parts and don't mess with cheap shitty parts that will go bad in a year, just to save a couple of euros. Can't wait for new episodes. Keep up the great work!
Man also saves hundreds of euros just by doing stuff by himself you know.
saving 'a couple of euros', he's probably put 5k into this POS bmw
Goddamn Sreten, what an excellent wrenching episode. Your work is always appreciated, and so is the brand-spanking new 4K video you’ve blessed us with. Everything looks so much better, and now we can appreciate your hard work in much better quality. I can’t wait to see what you do next. Stay safe, and we’ll see you on the next one, my friend.
I just stopped watching The Shawshank Redemption in the middle which is a masterpiece , just to watch your video .
Absolutely fantastic.
Lets push this channel fellas,. This is supposed to have at least a million subs, this is one of the best contents out there, top work!!
4k is an awesome addition to an already awesome channel! It felt like there were some moments where the framerate dropped from 60 though, not sure why that would be
Amazing work, so happy there's going to be at least one more episode on this beautiful V8 beast 😎
Loving the content, 4k looks much better on my 1600 x 900 laptop, at first I thought it was because I had cleaned my spectacles.
I have an Audi b5 but watch your channel religiously. You don’t skip anything and it’s inspiring 🇩🇪🍻
Greetings from Ukraine 🇺🇦 audilover) Watching you for more than 1 year and I want to say that with a new camera the video quality is significantly better! Thank you for inspiring content👏
You found one heck of a factory defect with the suspension! Great work!
Damn I do like watching your videos. Better than Edd China and Wheeler Dealers by a very long way. So much so I have stopped watching them. They just don't go to the detail I want, which, is what you do.
As for your oven, that is Jeremy Clarkson levels of genius. I even felt the earth stop for a brief moment. It was that good.
Your videos are the perfect How To videos there has ever been for working on Beemers. Even for those who don't have the exact same model of Beemers you have. The skills learned transfer just the same.
I m eagerly awaiting the next installment.
Sreten’s dedication to quality work inspires me to be a better mechanic tbh
I am amazed that the factory made that error with the suspension. That seems crazy. Thanks for the video.
I would love to see a parts list with prices. Keep up the great work.
We'll do that at the end of the next episode.
Got to admit, when I hear COOOMING UP, I always get a smile on my face. Always a treat, keep it up Sreten, love it! Cheers mate 🍻❤
Not so long time ago i've bought 4k 32" monitor and enjoyed of it's picture quality. And then, when I watched previous episode of X5 i've thought - where is 4k quality in 2022? And NOW it has appeared. Best BMW content just got even better :)
The only thing that surprises me about this cannel is that there are not 10 times as many subscribers. Every gear head I've shown your channel to loves it.
Love the E70, on my second one currently, out of many SUVs that I have driven X5 offers it all pretty much, performance, room, decent off road and a split tailgate.
another episode where I enjoyed from minute 1 to minute 45.59 your way of filming and commentary is fantastic. I am an old mechanic myself and find your sense of detail an example for many mechanics, there will be plenty of mechanics who do not disassemble the gearbox support to Tighten 3 bolts with the correct force.
Watching him before bedtime hits totally different. Love his content and the videos.
Top Episode Fantastic how inventive you are with your oven! Great Job 😎
This Channel is growing so fast. I remember when I first started watching sreten and he only had 30k or something like that. It’s just incredible how the quality improved massively and how the sub count blew up. I am thankful for finding this channel
Keep it up sreten❤️
Another episode of pure magic by Stretan the magician, can’t wait for for next V12 episode.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍
Subscribed to this channel about a week ago and can't stop watching. Loved BMW's my whole life.
Was refreshing daily for the content of this week. Only thing i am missing is the prices in general so we can get an understanding of the costs involved in maintaining older cars.
The restoration process for the caliper brackets was so satisfying! Nice job as always 💪🏽
So detailed, this channel is better than most manuals.
Keep it up sreten! Love the new camera
One Sreten in Cali working on M3 and another in DE working on X5 car. You're like the BMW jesus, in two places at the same time. 😂
I see a huge improvement about the tools you are using in your shopfloor. Nice!!!
I absolutely love this car. It is beautiful. It is so satisfying to see old parts getting replaced by new (and better quality) parts. I wish I had such a nice workshop to do all the maintenance on my own car. Thanks again for this awesome video. The quality is so much better. We really appreciate all your time and effort. Cheers
Watched in 4k, very nice. Always appreciate the OE/OEM part usage vs buying cheap crap to get the job done.
New camera looks great. Great video, as usual!
Streten, congratulations, you are now the only CZcamsr I will give 45 mins of my life too. Absolutely quality content! Danke!!
4k was a huge step up! Congrats on taking the leap. As always your content is great, its really cool to see it with this much clarity now.
How the hell do you keep track of all the screws maaaan? 😢😂😂 thank you for the amazing videos! You literally make my week! Keep up the amazing work
Ah I love watching this X5.... my parents back when I was a kid bought one as an ex-demo car back around 2008. Great to drive according to them, best SUV we have ever had according to them (next to the Australian Ford Territory we have now) but my goodness did we have issues with that car. Almost everything electrical we buggered and kept breaking and we had the large run-flat wheels and tires on it which always magnetised screws I swear. But fond memories... fond memories...
.."its like the airplane is crashing!!" That one got me, as always love the content, and I agree and have experience in yelling at things to make them cooperate.
You can tell this guy have a passion for what he does. Its a pleasure to see him working.
This must be a side quest, I was looking forward to the E46 part 3 :D
Hopefully E46 part 3 is still to come please?
I refurbished my front caliper and caliper bracket paint using Hammerite. I used silver spray paint on the calipers and brush black on the bracket. Cleaned them before really well. I know it is not heat resistant, but brake fluid will boil around 200 °C, so I do not stress it out much. It looks brand new after 1,5 years. Great video Sreten, really lovely quality in 4K!
Loving the new camera, quality is through the roof! Also great job on the x5
Love all your projects Sreten, although I'm a JDM fan it's always a pleasure to receive notifications from your channel.
Best of luck 🤞
Love the air chisel for ball joint removal👍🏻
Your videos are so entertaining to watch. 46 minutes blew by. The 4K is awesome.
Amazing vids man! That blaster is no joke wins every time. Down right the best tool in the shop! I look for it in every video 😂

I don’t have a workshop and don’t do my own car maintenance, but I’d love Santa to bring me a Vixen vapour blast cabinet ❤. I could make rusty, grimy, things shiny again, all day to my hearts content!
4k upgrade is huge, i can finally watch on my tv like a film :)
So glad i found this channel, love the videos. they are so satisfying to watch you do everything the right way.
such good quality of content on this channel....love this, always entertaining !
I was hoping to see the wrap up to Project Salt Lake. I have enjoyed your holiday vids, and curious to see what happened to the M46, but good to see you back in the dojo.
The thicker swaybar is also mounted if you have a panoramic sunroof. The weight of that system requires thicker sway bars to avoid rolling. E9x models have that as well.
Awesome stuff as always. I simply love the home made "owen" you made.
New cam looks great. And that X5 tub is really coming along, should be a perfect chick car
The image quality is now almost equal to your professional skills as a BMW car mechanic which is superior! 👍👍👍👍
Torque. The fairly recent method of torquing to ft-lb/N-m then following with angle X° is designed to eliminate friction variables with fasteners. Say something like dirt, rust, machining, and so on increases friction by 5%. Stopping at a known value before anomalies can start to bind and exponentially increase friction eliminates the variables. Finishing with a (torque) angle uses the thread pitch of the fasteners to increase fastener tension at a calculated rate. Then it's irrelevant if there are any variables that may increase friction which falsely inflates torque resulting in a lower clamping force than specified.
This development was sheer genius on the part of the engineers that came up with it.
Congrats with the new camera:D looks really great :)
i think if a man drops 2500 euro on a camera for youtube, a little bit of feedback is the least i can give.
the quality diffrence is immediatly noticable, especially in dynamic range. the video has so much more shadow, color, details in dark areas etc.
but that also means that in a lot of scenes the bright areas, like the wall or your face in contrast to the car was wayyy to bright and oversaturated. also, with the afformentioned additon of shadow, the placement of your light matters a lot more since shadows are very much more visible now.
And also, maybe its because of the new camera or because your roadtrip videos recieved so much positive feedback or because you are back home and excited to work on cars but your personality shines so bright in this video.
little moments like waving "us" to come look at vapor blasting really show how confident you have grown to be infront of the camera. you explain everything so routined eventho you probably read it 2 days ago on page 33 of some forum and make it seem like you've been doing nothing else for the last 20 years.
You are probably the least toxic youtuber that exists currently with the least toxic community as well. And the fact that literally every single one of your videos gains as much views as you have subs is a testiment of that. i know so many youtubers that get 10% of their subs clicking on a video, but channels where it's the other way around...? it's rare.
This now got a bit off track but I guess the undertaking line is that your new camera is great and it improves your videos :D
Thank you for the lovely comment! Indeed, I need to work on the lighting. The thing is, I always position it so you can see the background and the parts/what I'm doing clearly, but then I walk into the shot, and it messes up the balance. And since there's no one behind the camera, it's difficult to catch it. It's much more comfortable to work in your own shop, relaxed, no need to rush and I have to think before I talk and explain better :)
@@M539Restorations Maybe setting up a 2nd light opposite would solve the problem
The 4k60 looks great Sreten. I loved your US visit video series too!! That was fun to watch.
Sreten, when torquing axle nuts, make sure you put a wheel bolt into the hub. The only part that was stopping that hub from spinning was the rotor set screw.
you gave that wheelbearing a real beating with removal/installing the driveshaft. i'm excited to see how it holds up/how many km's after that beating.
Actually, the bearing itself didn't take any beating, the hub did and as it's pressed all the way in, there is no impact on the bearing.
@@M539Restorations Is that true? The drive shaft is part of the rotational part of the bearing, and the wheelhub (not rotating) is what's pushing back when you hammer the center of the driveshaft.
Of course, the wheel hub is one part with splines and goes through the bearing. It's seated fully in, so you are just hammer metal on metal. It can't go in any further than that. Also, destroying a wheel bearing isn't that easy anyway.
is the air hammer a new tool or was it just not needed before? that thing is awesome
I don't know what I would use it on but, I want one.
New toy and I love it!
Damn that M6 bolt holding a brake disc on is strong 🤣
first three seconds in noticed the 4k quality haha. What an improvment!
Strange you didn't change the wheel bearings while doing this work. From my experience this makes a lot of difference.
They rarely go bad so I didn't even think about it, but also, I didn't realize they come in a housing and are rather easy to replace as they just bolt up and there is no need to press anything in or out. Next time for sure!
You wrench on those BMWs like I wrench on my always broken F150. 😄
I`ve started doing the same thing, about to start doing a task and "COMING UP" pops out of my mouth. This without a doubt is my favourite channel. May it long continue. Did notice the quality had improved. A wise investment.
For every motorhead this is prime time content 🙂
That right front axle on the X cars never fails to fail it seems.
