- The Ineos Grenadier is a dream 4x4 for off-roaders and farmers, especially those who miss the original Land Rover Defender. But as Sam finds out, the Grenadier won't have any trouble treading its own, totally new path...

Apologies to those who've spotted that we've misidentified this Grenadier Fieldmaster as a Trialmaster. Sam's allotted time with the car was limited to under an hour, so he was leaning quite heavily on guidance from Ineos staff when filming this video. But rest assured the verdict remains the same - it's brilliant. Don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already :)
I spoke to a guy that was able to really put the Trialmaster spec version recently through a REAL sampling of its true off road capabilities that they were doing off camera (definitely going far beyond what’s been put out there). He expressed that “they were definitely not being very kind to this truck”, lol, and evidently the Grenadier is no doubt far beyond what folks are expecting at this point for an off the shelf stock utility truck. This made me even more anxious to have mine crawling through the wilderness areas of the Northeast USA. What made me laugh was his description of the sort of side lean angles this thing is capable of while empty. In his words, “I was absolutely sure we were going over at any moment. It was f**king insane that a stock vehicle that was road legal could do that.” LMAO!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Just can’t wait for mine. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
yes 45 degree tip over, crazy. :)
Congratulations on your purchase, Scott! You won't be dissapointed
Sorry, this is not a Trialmaster spec, it misses the raised air intake. Probably a Fieldmaster! 😉
Well spotted, Dieter. Sam's gone off to revise his Ineos specifications in silence!
looks good and very simlar to a old landy defender ❤
Looks the business. Great choice now between g wagon defender and this grenidor for buyers
Mines on order , can’t wait until my turn comes round
Starting price has increased 30k since the first pricing was released.
You had it correct first time, Trialmaster, as in the Belstaff Trialmaster Jacket, that it is named after, and with which it comes with a certificate to purchase... not Trailmaster like Jeep. But that unit is indeed a Fieldmaster spec.
Can't wait for the, to arrive in the US.
Too bad you clearly did not enjoy your test drive a bit. ;^)
Thanks for the extra info, Bryan. Sam's still considering swapping bricks and mortar for one of these...
As others have said, this is the fieldmaster. Alloy wheels, missing raised air intake and sunroofs make this a fieldmaster unless all these were done as options which l doubt
Staggered that we rarely used that 2" tow bar receiver in the UK. Common in USA. My towbars get clagged in the winter and the removable ones we generally use are fiddly and appear fragile. Well thought out vehicle. Please hurry up with the pickup.
which color is it?
Magic Mushroom
In Australia, going bush in a vehicle with a BMW engine is considered very risky at best.
Trial not Trail. 👍
It's a old 110 land rover yeah
Oh yes Ineos in the UK it is illegal to use a 2inch receiver int the Trailmaster version as it is NOT registered as a commercial vehicle.
Well ,I use a 2 inch receiver on my Range Rover L 322. Will use it on this when I get one too.
@@19sjw Ineos say not approved so not insured
@@19sjw What's it say on the V5 N1 or M1?
Sorry, what a nonsense review of a "real" off-road vehicle. My old VW would have done no less. Lots of back-slapping mindless praise.
The owner, ratcliff a promoter benefits of brexit of course shun a ev factory in the UK (Wales) for the EU. Yep just like Dyson.
A very good off roader 👍
Psst... they drove on leaves.
Intentionally.
Get real. A proper off road test is loaded with fuel and supplies and across varied terrain for days, preferable without a road in sight, not this joy ride around someone’s back garden.
We'd love to have had that experience. Unfortunatley we were limited on this test drive, but we're doing our best to get one in again for something more strenuous :)
@@cinchso it's been 8 months where's the video?
Coincidentally we finally got back in one last week, @@itsruf1! And it was a much muddier route, but we only managed to record video for YT Shorts and social media (it was a very short media drive), so we're editing a quick video for that. You'll see it on Shorts in the coming days :) Next year, we'll attempt to go even further for a full video. Thanks for your patience!
@@cinch Shorts? Bad reply. That's hiding something. Show the whole thing!
Editing out is editing what we need to see. We can't trust you.
@@cinch I just figured out what this channel is. Looks like a wannabe guy at home trying to play interner car reviewer. Or e-bikes or skateboards whatever gets clicks for income... and replies for more clicks. Blocking this poser channel now.
Anybody ????
Starting at 69.000 i doubt is for anybody but more for someones .
They added another 20k-30k.
When a Defender and a Hummer had a baby

The oil must flow for Mr ratbrexit. Was hoping this would be a failure. Cant stand the ineos bloke. Oh well.
Sat in one at our local dealer and couldn't live with that massive lump in the drivers footwell, all the millions spent developing it and they build it so you can stretch you left leg ,what a shame!!
Should be able to get use to it pretty quick, I test drove it and couldn't even tell the difference, especially with the carpet mats.
It's just a tarted up Defender!
What's wrong with it? The new defender is nothing more than a fancy discovery. So I guess the gap had to be filled in.
Really!!!!!!!!!!!
Put it this way, it's a shame they followed what's been done in the past rather then taking the lead.
@@Indecisive7337 take the lead how? Add more gadgets and complicate things? There’s no need to make a soft core suv, markets flooded. You can easily go buy 10 different cars that do the same thing and have gadgets that breakdown after 4-5 years of use.
I think the Grenadier user base wants something old school (simple and mechanically sound) that has functionality and practicality that the old defender, old crusier and lacked and don’t want to pay 300k for g wagon.
Yeah you've got that completely backwards. Land Rover should have made a 'tarted up' Defender, not a clone of the several overly tech reliant vehicles they already have. Ineos just righted the wrong that McGovern designed. A simple, rugged, mechanical, square roomy truck. I can't imagine anybody in the overland market would choose a Defender over this. Now for the mall crawlers it might be a different story.
