It's entirely possible that the reason Muse sound soooo good live is that they have 100,000 people on lead vocals.

Just watched them live performed 2 weeks ago and I STILL CANNOT MOVE ON! Their performance was AMAZING. Hands down. BEST NIGHT EVER!
Muse are well known for being amazing live! A music festival takes place at my old hometown and muse played one year. I didn’t manage to get tickets but I remember walking to college and I could hear muse clear as day in the air, it was incredible. You could hear them for miles and you could make out every lyric, every instrument was crystal clear. Felt like I experienced it without even being at the festival, people stopped on the street to listen!
That bassline going through the whole song is 👌 Saw them live, when I went with my son who is a fan, and wow! That was a proper live performance!! The music, sound, stage, visuals. Everything fantastic!!
Muse butterflies and hurricanes live at Wembley. Matt bellamy is undoubtedly one of the most talented musicians to ever grace this earth.
Hell yeah! Muse are probably the best live band of the last two decades, they always sound just as good as in the studio, often even better.
Matt Bellamy has a great musical education and his songwriting is heavily influenced by classical music, this allows him to create much more complex stuff than almost anyone else in rock (or even modern music in general). More Muse please!

Exactly. Have seen them live for more than 15 times across Europe and UK, at festivals or small gigs... Never fail to amaze me. Last year on May 9 in the Apollo London, or Berlin Tempelhof in June... I just went there with broken arm and all that... Can't wait for Plymouth this year and Den Haag. But wow to see them live in the US, that would be a different experience.

This song was the one that inspired me to pick up bass myself many years ago, Absolution was my first Muse album followed by Origin of Symmetry (my friend copied them for me back when that was a thing) and I had been in love with Muse ever since. I believe they took their entire stadium gig to their home town in Devon, a pretty small seaside town called Teignmouth, and did the 'whole' thing... for free.

As many times I've heard this song and seen it performed live it still gets you so hyped! This is just the tip of the LIVE iceberg! Keep going. Anything live from the early 2000s is immense!
I first saw them playing in Galway in 2001 and have seen them live many times since. Travel to wherever you can to see them. You won’t be disappointed.
Chris Wolstenholme (bassist) famously said he can’t stand playing this because it’s bloody hard work. It’s known as _The Finger Crippler_ for good reason.
Watching them play Starlight at Reading Festival gave me goosebumps. Muse and Placebo are my best 2 love performers from my festival days (UK bands)

Went to see muse last year for 4th time live at the Rome olympic stadium was my 2nd show they a stadium band which is a dying breed need more of them if you get a chance beg borrow or steal a ticket never be disappointed best live shows I need go again played hysteria at my daughters birth took her to her first muse concert at age of 16 we still bond to this song now

Singer plays lead, rhythm, everything using pedals and sings at same time = God like, It is so hard to do as the tunes are different but 3 band members make music others with 5 couldnt do.
Chris is an incredible Bass player, has a bigger effects suite than a lot of Guitarists do haha, Self taught too!
only music this good, riffs that beautiful give me this feeling of certainty.
I've been lucky enough to see Muse grow from a small stage in 1999 at the Reading Festival to headline the main stage. I saw them in 1999, 2000, 2002, 2006 and in 2011 always blew me away, never seen a bad show from them.
If you ever have the opportunity to see them, just go!

The irony is that the bass player initially started as a drummer who knew some guitar, and he only started teaching himself bass when he joined MUSE cause they needed a bassist. Thus an icon was born.
Ha, there is a whole universe for you to discover. I went to Muse with my sons when they were like 13. They always hated me for exposing them to so much Muse, but after seeing and hearing them live, they finally understood. This summer we go to see them again together live. Will be epic, that's for sure. I really liked your comment on this song, I'd buy you a coffee next time.
If I were alive to see Queen live I might be able to make a comparison but Muse is hands down the greatest live band ever.
It's not even just about how good they sound, it's also the quality of the crowd. The entire vibe is just ethereal.
You leave a Muse show thinking "holy fuck, what just happened?"
Even in their early days, in smaller venues, they were fantastic.
Alot of their first album (showbiz) was recorded in the Astoria in 2000. Check out 'Fillip', 'Cave', 'Muscle Museum' & 'Uno'

Matt Bellamy is up there with the best rock guitarists of all time, hes a genius
I've been to so many concerts of Muse and Matt has never sung one flat tone. He has such a good intonation, it's incredible. Love Muse. This isn't even a very hard song for him to sing. My fave's (among all others) are Time is running out, Butterflies & Hurricanes, MK Ultra and Cizien erased.

I hope you went and saw/are going to see them on their recent tour. Of the many many times I've seen them, this tour was their best. Everyone should see them at least once.
This is why Muse is my current favourite band. Epic bass lines, awesome vocals, amazing drums. Their live shows are just sensational and I will, one day, go to one. Each album showcases a different style of music with their latest, "The Will of the People" released in the last month being much heavier. You should check it out!

It's because it took Muse about 5 years to actually break through, and they actually made it in the US first!
But for that 5 years, they constantly played live gigs! So they mastered playing live before getting in the studio. They genuinely are the band that's always better live than in the studio!

Muse are unbelievably good. The studio tracks are perfection but it's unreal how good they are live, almost too good live! 😅
I'd reccomend all their tracks but Butterflies & Hurricanes or New Born are great to showcase Matt's talent. If you want to see Dom rock out on the drums check out Assassin live at Mayan.

I'm a huge prog rock fan. I always thought muse had massive potential to do 10-20 minute songs in the prog rock genre.
