Adam Lmao Well, with Pandora, I myself am more likely to find more music that I haven't heard of, yet I would like. Plus, I can't find some Japanese artists on Spotify. Not hating on Spotify or anything, it's good when I use it on my PS4 to replace any dull music on my games, but on the go I prefer Pandora.

Apple is meant for people who aren't tech savvy. Whereas android phones can be very complicated, depending on what you do with them. Also, android phones tend to be more open ended with customization.

I remember when Sony were the dominant force in the portable music world. MP3 was new, they had some CD walkman devices that could also play MP3, but no one was interested and so Sony didn't take the plunge.
Apple took a risk with bringing out a dedicated MP3 player, or whatever equivalent compression format Apple use, and it swept to success due to being fashionable, something none of the other music tech giants had anticipated.
By the time Sony, Philips and others brought out their rival systems, the iPod had replaced 'walkman' as the general name for 'music player'.
The iPod was sub par for sound quality to its competitors, but no one cared.
Apple aren't technology experts, they are a marketing superpower. They could sell you anything as long as it's white and instantly makes you part of the detestable 'cool club'.
They have the ability to sell what others have failed to, and when they think they can't compete, they make their own and lock their users into it.
CSGuitars I've always said I've had to give them credit for being marketing geniuses. Their products are crappy and unoriginal, but they still manage to convince thousands of sheeple to buy it anyways.
I remember going to buy a video MP3 player back in the day. I went to the store and they had a Zune and a video iPod. The zune had a bigger screen, and I can't remember if it was 4 or 8 times more memory (Zune had 120GB, can't remember if the ipod was 16 or 32) and the kicker: they were the same price.
CSGuitars ,this is so true,but as hardware giants,you can't beat apple,in terms of stability and the compatibility between the idevices and you're imac or mac book or mac pro is unbeatable and as a tech lover and a former pc builder and widows user myself ,my experience with those ,as well as the android platform,is although you got more say on the software,they tend to crash way more often , that combined with the price you pay for it,around 100 bucks,while osx is only 15 bucks,
we only have apple in this house (wich never gave me problems and i excpect they never will) ,except for 1 laptop,a 2014 notebook running w8.1 that hasn't run as it should for 1 single day and believe me,i know my way around computers and windows,
but i agree,if apple gives us more control over what we put on and how we use ios and osx and doesnt imprint stupid (stolen) apps,like stocks or health or any for that matter ,would it not be a great piece of hardware?!

CSGuitars Actually Sony was very threatened by mp3s in general because Sony also produced music at the time and didn't want to fuel a new device that would threaten other profitable sectors of their business. Basically, they were too big, too greedy and wanted to thwart change which always seems to happen when corporations get that big. They start caring more about holding on to what they've got instead of continually innovating.
Apple, Microsoft and Google are all doing the same thing. They are all shooting themselves in the foot by trying to protect what they have.

Atleast if I choose to switch from iPhone to android I can still keep my Spotify music library. You begin using Apple Music, create your library, but realize that you're totally fucked if you want to listen to YOUR music on any other device that's not apple.
I love Spotify because it interfaces really nicely over all devices, not just apples shit ecosystem. I can like a song on my iPhone, and it mirrors it exactly on my computer or vis Versa. It's easy. Plus Spotify's radio services and discover playlists are years ahead of Apple Music. Spotify has fantastic algorithms for that stuff and Apple Music tries but falls short and has obvious biased towards 'big new music'. I can put obscure music into Spotify's algorithms and it'll give me really good results, Apple Music wont work with anything that's not mainstream and when they try to be original, it suggests music worse than Pandora does.

The free spotify is honestly more like pandora. IMO only spotify premium is comparable with apple music and they're the exact same price
Jasmin Awany not at all! Pandora is internet radio. That means you can't choose to play any song you want, you're stuck with whatever it gets and there is a limited amount of skips. Apple Music and Spotify both have this radio system. BUT Spotify also allows to you save any album or track you want from any genre. You can play it when you want for as long as you want, the only catch is you have to watch a 15 second video every 30 minutes (or so it says, but in reality it's a lot less often) The only advantages to paying 99 cents a month is that 1) you don't have any more ads, which is pointless because ads aren't that distracting anyway, and 2) downloading music offline. Internet these days is literally everywhere, so why would you need offline music? That takes up tons of storage space anyway. Hell, even airplanes and cars offer Internet service these days, and if you're on a phone you can just use cellular to access internet. So the free version is really just as good as the paid.
You can pay for spotify so you get no ads.
Spotify on computer only lets you save songs for free. On the phone it is basically pandora unless you pay for premium. Premium is 10 bucks a month, or 5 if you are a student. So if you listen to music on your phone (Which is how most people do listen to music) then you want premium. Just thought I would clarify the things you got wrong. :) (Also having downloaded music is beautiful. It helps when you don't want to use data, or if you want the audio quality better)
I didn't get anything wrong, I was referring to Spotify on iPad, which is what I use all the time. I rarely use my iPhone for anything other than a phone, notwithstanding the occasional text message. On the iPad (and apparently computers) it is essentially free, and premium is just 99 cents. Even then it gives you like a free three month trial of Spotify premium.
I've seen Spotify for iPhone, and while you can't play individual songs in an album when you want, you can get around that by saving the specific song you want in the album (and few or none else) then hitting shuffle play, which it allows you to do. That way you can play for free what you want as if you were on PC or Mac or tablet.
