2 Solos Full Of Tasty Licks On Bossa Dorado
I recently taught my 'Bossa Dorado Like A Boss' masterclass in the Gypsy Jazz Club.
As well as learning the tune and chords we took a deep dive into soloing by highlighting the appropriate scales, licks and arpeggios you can use over each chord in the progression.
I also composed two example solos to give you a taste of how it should sound when all the licks scales and arpeggios come together,
In this video I not only show you those solos but also how I came up with each line with references to the licks scales or arpeggios I drew from.
In my composed solos, i've taken Licks, Arpeggios and Scales and connected them in a way that makes the solo flow. I wanted to show you the process of doing this so you can do the same.
Apart from having notes that fit the chords the trick is to make it musical. I've done that by leaving space, using bends and other gypsy ornaments.
If you would like the charts and backing track videos for this lesson then join the Gypsy Jazz Club and get access.
By the way Dorado Schmitt's 'Bossa Dorado' is perhaps the most played and fun tune to jam on in the Gypsy Jazz genre and a great one to get good at.
Every two weeks we get together online and do a deep-dive on a specific gypsy jazz topic to build your musical muscles and add new skills to your bag of tricks. This is also a great time for you to ask me questions live.
All these sessions are recorded so that you can view them any time. This Epic Library is packed with 40+ hours of valuable on-demand training.
My mission is to help you make playing gypsy jazz guitar as easy and uncomplicated as possible.
I share much more inside my Gypsy Jazz Transfusion Club online membership site.

Robin has a unique voice in this Gypsy Music, instantly recognised and always fresh. Bossa Dorado is one of the greatest songs in this genre, and the chord changes in the tune allow a wide interpretation of ideas, but to have two perfectly elegant solos laid out in notation by Robin in this lesson is an excellent way to begin the challenge to find your own unique voice as a soloist. Learn these two solos by heart, and you have the best start to your journey into Gypsy Jazz guitar playing.
