YOU FAIL (BIG TIME) TO UNDERSTAND THAT RUSSIA IS NOT INTERESTED TO TAKE OVER BIG RUINED CITIES BY THE TIME THEY FINISH BOMBING THE UKRAINIANS SO THEY RUN AWAY. RUSSIA HAS NO INTEREST WHAT SO EVER SINCE IS NOT ABOUT THE CITIES, BUT ABOUT THE LAND. RUSSIA WANT TO TAKE AS MUCH LAND AS IT MAY BE POSSIBLE SO THAT BY THE TIME ANY PEACE IS FORCED UP ON UKRAINE, RUSSIA WILL HAVE HALF OF UKRAINE'S LAND UNDER CONTROL . Is not about significant or insignificant
      towns
and cities but IT IS RATHER ABOUT: "JUST ROB UKRAINE OF IT'S LAND, - TAKE AS MUCH AS IT IS POSSIBLE BEFORE WE ARE STOPPED AND BEFORE WE ARE NO MORE ABLE TO TAKE ANY MORE OF IT " - Vladimir Putin.
IT APPEARS THAT IS VERY HARD FOR UKRAINE TO RETAKE ANY LAND UNLESS RUSSIA WITHDRAWS AS IT DID IN THE PAST OF THREE MAIN REGIONS: Kiev, Kharkiev and KHerson

Also help Ukraine to get "excess defense articles" - something that USA is paying Taxpayer's money to utilize now but can be sent to Ukraine and will make difference there.
USA is currently destroying cluster munition shells that might literally save Ukraine by saving money to the Taxpayers.

We are spending a small amount of our GDP to restraint the biggest military threat to Europe, which also directly affects our national security. But not risking the lives of any American or NATO soldiers. So far this has shown Russia remains a threat but their military is not the Russian bear it seemed to be just a few years ago. And their losses make it evident they will need years to recover to the point they could mount a major offensive in Europe. As long as NATO retains their cohesion. Because without NATO back up the Baltic states, with less than 6 million people in three countries, would be an easy target for Russia. There are also countries around Ukraine like Moldova or Bulgaria that Russia may target. Especially Moldova, where Russia is supporting a break away province, establishing a foothold they can expand control from. But Russia is tied up in Ukraine and can't afford to initiate further any military adventures now. But if they succeed in packaging a large section of Ukraine and have a forced peace there if NATO and the US stop their support, Russia will be free to invade these smaller neighbors in a few years. After using their propaganda resources to soften up the population of those neighbors and use isolationism in the West to stay out of the conflict. Even possibly with our smaller NATO allies. I can hear politicians in Congress saying do we really want to send our troops to defend Estonia, with less than 1.5 million people. At one time a satellite of Russia anyway. Let them have it, it won't ever affect us. Except Estonia sit on one side of Russian access to the Baltic Sea, across from Finland and near Sweden. Making it easier for Russian naval forces to access the North Atlantic. And shows why traditionally neutral Sweden and Finland have joined NATO since Russia invaded Ukraine. They are looking ahead ten years when Russia recovers from losses in Ukraine decides it's time to reestablish Russian control of the Baltic. Betting that if the West abandons Ukraine they will just as easily abandon small NATO allies like Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia, smaller bites off of the European apple but just as important as Ukraine for Russian expansion.

Let me remind you that Russia is fighting for its security. The NATO bloc is a danger to Russia, and as long as it is at Russia's borders, conflict is inevitable. As proof of Russia's intentions, I will cite the Peace Treaty initialed between Ukraine and Russia in March 2022, when the war was already underway. The main points of the agreement are Russia withdrawing troops from Ukraine, Ukraine gives a guarantee not to join NATO. But NATO forbade Ukraine to sign the treaty and forced it to continue the war. That is, it is NATO that is the source of tension, and approaching the borders of Russia it will cause a big war with the use of nuclear weapons.

Yes and no. Europeans know the litigation of Ukraine becoming a new democracy freedom land off Putin's claws.
To give you a picture. Imagine the state of Texas declaring today their independance, elect a president for the country of Texas, and screams and succeed at NATO for their legitimate protection from USA. Now imagine country of Texas become ally with Canada, Mexico, argentina and those countries are nato. Those countries know uss tech is old as fuck but they forgot usa massing old ways and never got ready with munitions and whose private production is great quality but slow as fuck and can't hold a candle.
That's why Russians are still in Ukraine. Ill prepared gloating countries with their tech but go to the front with their dick in their hand.
Russia is not a democracy but Russia still is a form of federal states.
Putin's issue is megalomania, egocentrism, overly tight control by fear of contention or competion with fellow russian, kgb deceit and deception teaching. He rules like a king by fear, deathly oppression, and lies for popularity.
The one point putin's right about is that if he was not in power, if he was not who is then Russia would be a complete chaos oligarchs turning into mafia clans simply killing each other for wealth and territory control.

You can get it through artillery smoke shells, smoke pots, vehicle smoke by spraying diesel on the exhaust manifold, or defensive smoke grenade salvoes fired from the smoke grenade launchers on the turrets of tanks and IFVs. Russia is currently breaking through Ukrainian lines almost completely unopposed due to no ammunition and tactical errors/incompetence, and they're only managing 1-3 kilometers per day, this is probably the least resistance russia will have ever faced in this entire war until ukraine starts getting these weapons from the aid package and theyre only going at 2km a day pace. Russia still has months to take chasiv yar, and then at the earliest it will still take russia months to reach each one of those places, per place then months more to encircle the city, probably a year each to take the 2 big cities and a year for just konstantinivka and surroundings, thats if they do not but advance at this pace currently. But Ukrainian positions in an entire city are not going to just collapse because they dont have the high ground or because russia reached the city like they are right now. They still havent even reached chasiv yar yet let alone established even a start of an encirclement. So that "roll up" and subsequent victories is going to take years

They didn't stop the russians from building defences or continue to attack them, and they tried to use Nato equipment and tactics without having the prerequisites that those tactics and equipment depend on so they failed, there is your answer

I think one of the reasons Russia has recently been dominating in the wooded areas is mostly lack of artillery ammo. FPV drones just don’t cut it around lots of trees. I tore up one of mine yesterday hitting a branch without leaves and the drone ended up starting on fire from the voltage spike when the props hit the branches. Trees just suck. ATACMs don’t have that problem though when using cluster munitions and they’ll clean the woods out just fine assuming Ukraine has enough and Russia doesn’t learn how to jam them.

"tons of empty land, long trips from the next city, the lines will settle here"
Do you really know what is going on now bro? Because the way I see it, while the war will be going on for much longer, a lot of the 2022 objectives are suddenly looking WAY More takable than they did in 2022. Meanwhile you're saying Russia isn't going to be going much farther?
And dude I get that war is is foggy, we dont have the full picture, from the picture I'm seeing, you are being majorly disingenous. Be honest to your fans. While it´s true that it represents progress it doesn´t change the fact that these "achievements" don´t really move the needle in this conflict, not with the losses that are incurred on the russian side.
The fact that even a part of the russian ammunition has to come from North Korea and Iran shows that even with turning their entire economy into supporting the war effort it is not enough to actually provide the needed resources. The fact that their stockpiles of old equipment is dwindling at a rapid pace can be literally seen from space. And the fact that Ukraine has now found a way to target russian oil depots is really going to hurt russia not only economically but also militarily.

Russia's GDP is 30 times less than the GDP of the countries that help Ukraine. At the same time, Russia produces weapons (for example, tanks, shells, missiles) more than all NATO countries combined, If Russia increases its military spending, it will be a nightmare for NATO and the United States, since the effectiveness of Russia's military complex is much higher than that of NATO countries. As an example, in two years the cost of shells produced in Russia has not increased, and the cost of shells produced in the West has increased 10 times. That is, in monetary terms, assistance to Ukraine is increasing, and in material terms it is even decreasing.

If Russia is capturing fields or territory without strategic value while Ukraine is building up defenses farther back and waiting for ammo and equipment to arrive, then Russian gains don't matter. Russia will arrive at next defenses and Ukraine will have the artillery ammo to blast the Russians.
It's not like a game where holding territory gives points per turn or something.

    • @evilleader1991

@@Texas240That has obviously not been Ukraine's strategy in this war at all. They've made the decision to stubbornly defend every town to the very end and you can see that this decision has cost them dearly.

    • @Texas240
      @Texas240 Před měsícem

@@evilleader1991 - You've been watching a different war. First, in the initial Russian onslaught, Ukraine had to defend as best they could with the unprepared defense they had. Otherwise, they would've been overrun.
Later, after the initial onslaught was thwarted and Russia was forced withdraw troops to sustainable logistics lines, Ukraine had two major breakthroughs which liberated a significant amounts of territory in Kharkiv and Kherson regions that Russia had captured in the initial part of invasion.
Once that was accomplished and winter set in, Ukraine has fought from the defense until they are no longer able to do so at beneficial attrition rate and then they fall back and repeat. That was the case around Bakhmut as well as Avdiivka.
You can't look at the war merely from the tactical point or you won't understand it. There are interconnected pieces. Bakhmut probably should have been left sooner than it was from a TACTICAL or local perspective. However, the reason Ukraine was fighting in Bakhmut wasn't so much to hold that city. Ukraine was fighting in Bakhmut first to attrit the Russians who were using their advanced tactics of sending waves of men out to camber over the previous wave of men that were eliminated by the Ukrainian troops fighting from defensive positions and using artillery, drones, automatic weapons fire to eliminate Russians out in the open.
Second, Ukraine was fighting in Bakhmut "stubbornly and to the bitter end", as you put it, to keep the Russian troops and logistics centered on the Bakhmut region INSTEAD of the Zaporizhia region where Ukraine intended to begin their offensive when they had enough equipment and troops returned from training in the EU to do so. In hindsight, the Russians mined that area more heavily than any other place on the planet and Western military advisors had no clue how to clear minefields that are protected by artillery without air superiority.
Getting back to your "bitter end" point, this isn't so much the result if Ukraine's strategy being faulty as it is an issue of frightened Western leaders taking an appeasement mindset and trickling enough equipment to Ukraine for them to avoid being overrun en masse by Russia across the entire front but not enough and not enough of the right equipment soon enough for Ukraine to fight they would want to. The entire war has been a study in Ukraine doing more with less.
Realize that the "world's 2nd strongest military" has been stymied by a poorer, smaller neighbor that was completely unprepared for the full scale, 3 prong Russian invasion of February 2022.
Ukraine held Avdiivka for the same reason as Bakhmut. Russia was throwing away 1,000 soldiers and tens of pieces of armor per day and allowing Ukraine to eliminate those numbers from a beneficial attrition standpoint by Ukraine fighting from the defense. Ukraine's supporters failed to keep their promises of "supporting Ukraine as long as it takes" and as artillery and mortar ammunition dried up, Ukraine again was faced with the situation of being unable to eliminate the waves of Russians clambering over the dead, previous wave and had to withdraw.
Ukraine fought in Avdiivka too long in your opinion. Did ask yourself, "Why?" No. You didn't, so I'll tell you. Ukraine was fighting in Avdiivka for the other reason as Bakhmut, to keep the Russians centered there and buy time for proper defenses to be constructed farther back. Yes, it's absolutely a failing that more Ukranian troops had to sacrifice in Avdiivka than necessary because the previous military leadership hadn't thought to construct proper defensive lines and fortifications while they were watching the Russians do exactly that under General Suroviken.
This is one of the huge failings that most media fail to talk about and especially fail to attribute to the much lauded General Zaluzhny. However much the men liked Zaluzhny, he forgot to build a proper defensive line and that led to Ukraine having to hold Avdiivka longer than they would have liked (til the bitter end, in your words), especially in the face of unfulfilled promises by Western nations on artillery and other ammo.
It's a bit like you planned to buy lunch every day and your parents promised to give you money for lunch every day, and by Wednesday, they stopped giving you lunch money. You trusted your parents. Shame on you. Right?
So, with defenses being built and Ukraine out of ammo, they withdrew from Avdiivka. In your opinion this was foolish stubbornness. However, you probably don't have someone who's already moved into your living room trying to break into your bedroom. If you did, you'd probably fight "stubbornly and foolishly" to keep them out.
By your logic, Ukraine should retreat from any fight with the Russians. That wouldn't be a very good defense at all and Ukraine would quickly be overrun. I don't know whether you failed to see and understand the strategic situation that I explained above or you are confused pro Russian Westerner and just want to disparage Ukraine in their fight for survival against a stronger, much more foolish and much more stubborn opponent.
I hope it's the former and you now understand WHY Ukraine fought in Bakhmut and Avdiivka as long as they did and also that Ukraine has liberated much of what Russia took in 2022. If it's latter, please realize that Russia considers the West and you, an enemy and part of a zero sum game where something can't be good for Russia unless it's bad for the West, where you live.
