I was a soldier in the Australian Army for 20 years. So I am highly trained in useing firearms. When I left the Army I worked in Security for 6 years. I was an armed security officer due to the fact that part of my roll was picking up cash from a number of businesses. In the 6 years I only had to draw my firearm once and that was enough. I never thought of myself as 6ft tall and bullet proof. The very last thing that I wanted to do was drawer my firearm because, once its out, its only going to finish in two ways.

This I grew up with guns, and even enlisted in 07 in US Army in time of war. I don't even feel need to own a firearm. I do want one but I am thinking like a shotgun or something like that if I wanted home defense. I know people with multiple guns who conceal and open carry who never ever drawn on any one and one I do know who has it was a family member by mistake no less. I mean I get with the scissors drawing might be justified ,but he shot him as his back was turned then shot the kid running down the hall away from him, then excuted the dad trying to reach his apartment while shot, that was just brutal as hell when he drew they were going back to their room probally to call the cops and he just unloaded on them.

My son asked them to turn down the music, they had words & was suckered punched. While defending himself with nothing but his hands, a 22 yr old stabbed my baby in his heart. Over some fucking music! As a firearms instructor and (occasional) concealed carrier, I find I don't feel tougher at all carrying a gun. In fact, the gravity of carrying a firearm makes me actively try to avoid any and all conflicts and just generally be more polite and less confrontational than I might be without it. Like I wanted to learn to repair my own pants I was told "no son of mine will be gay, that is woman's job! Only reason I even let you learn to cook is because I think your ass might take a while before you find a woman to cook for you." That is toxic masculinity lol. To me, it appears that they had an ongoing feud. Murderer was standing there, armed, blasting music or whatever, while facing their door. It appears that he was instagating a confrontation. The son wasn't lunging at him, it honestly looked like he was just trying to get out of the way. Really f'd up. I am glad the murderer will never be on the streets again. It sounded like they didn't even have carpet on their floors because we could hear every footstep. Every single night, without fail, they used to drag furniture around (that's what it sounded like anyway) and this would go on for hours. In the daytime there were kids running around, loud bangs like things were being dropped on the floor, doors slamming, etc. Not for one second did me or my partner think about k!lling them over the noise though! If you live in an apartment building, noise is just something that you may have to deal with.

Good flooring underlay really helps with noise transmission through the floors.
You're right, though, noise may be annoying, frustrating, or disruptive, but it's part of life. If people can just talk to eachother like adults ("I understand you need to redecorate, but would you be qilling not to move furniture between 10pm and 8am?" "I've got a lot to do in a short time, but I could do midnight to 7am." "That works, thanks." "Great.") That'd make things easier all around.

I think he also may have had dog ears and acute insensitivity to frustration. He did fire fatal shots into both dying victims when they were already on the ground. Whether he had the gun on him all the time or only for this incident, that is irrelevant to the fact that he brought it to that floor for the purpose of using it. Perhaps knowing he had already thrown his life away having committed double murder, he gets himself killed by NYPD.

I wanted to shoot him I was so mad.I couldn't believe my own anger. But, I was in my yard and he was in his and in a split second I turned and walked away, thank goodness.
It was shocking how fast I let anger overtake me over NOTHING. Thank goodness I kept my peace and nothing happened. You are absolutely right- it wasn't worth the consequences. This is a tragedy on replay all over America.

Hi Bruce! I watch your series every day if I can. I live in Maine not too far from where the horrific shootings happened in Lewiston. I was waiting for you to make comment about it and was happy to come across your CZcams video. I appreciate your remarks about guns. And I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy watching you and you are a very very intelligent man, that’s for sure. Are used to think defense attorneys were without a conscience, defending somebody who everybody thought was guilty. But I can see how you can defend them. Your knowledge of the law is very impressive. Thanks again for providing some entertainment for the 69-year-old Maine woman. I’ve learned a lot from you. Also, I want to say how much I like the relationship that you and your son Michael have. It’s so evident how much you love each other.

The uncensored video is horrifying. The poor son bleeding out, slowly slumping off the wall. You can see his execution style shots physically move the bodies. Insane that something like this arises from something so trivial

The tueller rule which is what you reference is based on how long Tueller, who was a training officer in Utah or something like that, thought it took his guys to draw, aim and effectively fire on target, he thought at minimum it was 1.5 seconds and that's how long you can travel in 21 feet and strike. 21 feet is surprisingly far which is the whole point of the rule, you aren't safe just because the other guy is a few paces away.
Edit: And these are trained officers drawing and firing, if you don't have a gun or aren't trained you just need to know that somebody can cover that distance incredibly quickly and catch you off guard.
