The same here. I feel I concentrate better and sometimes get the time and sit and look around.
I am a 73-year old, new photographer. I thought I was too old to learn new concepts and techniques, but I am learning a lot from Nigel's videos, particularly since Landscape Photography is my favorite genre!

Nigel, congratulations on 250,000!!! in 2018 after a 12 year absence from photography (due to illness) I was able to once again return to photography. Your channel was the first I started faithfully watching. The lessons and inspiration I have gained from watching have been invaluable. Thank you!

These autumn videos have gotten me out of the inertia I’ve been feeling. When I woke up to a foggy misty morning, I headed outdoors with my camera and spent the loveliest time photographing the gorgeous fall colors instead of just watching them out the window. Thanks for your inspirations!

Shooting trees at this time of the year is so inspiring and perfect to get some time for yourself.
Dear Nigel first of all congratulations. Every time I looked at your CZcams channel or pick up your fantastic book and photographs or watching your calendar it gives me such a warm feeling. It motivates me to go out and enjoy nature. I am 69 years young and some times it is hard for me physically after a big operation to go out but I do not give up. The warm feeling you gave me motivates me also to go out and taking photographs.

One reason I so enjoy your videos is how you often walk us through how you manage to "find" compositions in the messy natural world. Even if I did not learn a thing each week (I always do) the beauty of the UK countryside is never to be missed. The drone footage and wonderful music selections never fail to impress. No wonder you reached the 250,000 subscriber mark!

I've greatly enjoyed your videos over last 16 months. In the beginning, I was enjoying your photos marveling and admiring at the beauty, warmth and serenity your images exude, without realizing what you're offering: giving me an invaluable 1:1 photography lessons, every time. Your tutorial, I find, is no ordinary tutorial but an inept and the quality a photography department in an art school might offer. About 4 months now while quarantined, I sat with pen and paper, writing notes copiously for an hour every day, watching them over and over. My composition is already improving and others are noticing it. Thank you Nigel!

I am an amateur photographer who converted from wildlife to landscape in the past year. Your videos have been insightful and inspiring to me. Although I will probably always photograph wildlife, I especially enjoy the thoughtful, methodical process of landscape photography. Its most enjoyable. Thank you for your informative videos.

Nigel, you're one of a select few CZcams pro landscape photographers that I regularly watch for ideas, info & advice. The thing I like about your work (which is the same as the other photographers I watch) is your use of technology to produce fine art images of nature that appear to have been created from scratch on a canvas versus taken by a camera. This is a rare talent indeed which takes an enormous amount of dedication, time & perseverance to achieve. Your willingness to share this rare skill with the world is admirable and much appreciated. As a fan & student of your work, there is one thing though I would suggest for your videos. That being, consider using sound tracks without vocals or singing to enhance your videos. Soundtracks with vocals can be highly distracting as it causes viewers to focus on the singer, lyrics, etc., versus the content in the video. You post beautiful work to your channel that's the result of painstaking effort. Anything which creates a distraction from that is a big loss for your fans. Just something for you to consider, thanks!
Hi Nigel, You are the first landscape photographer I started watching this past year after I moved to the driftless area in Southeast Minnesota. I grew up here and it's great to be back. Since 2013 my primary photography focus has been wildlife exclusively, lugging around a 150-600mm lens on a Nikon D750. I lost some physical strength and with all this beauty around me, started watching you and making a change. Thanks to you I challenged myself to create some panoramic photos and started looking for compositions. You are inspirational, and thank you for making the effort to share your process and challenges on CZcams! One million not far off, congrats! Best Regards
Despite the many photographers channels I've subscribed to I find myself returning time and time again to your channel Nigel.
I love the way you capture the natural beauty without resulting in over cooking your pictures. Explaining what camera settings you've used and how to create the compositions has really helped me out when I just can't get it right.

Fog photography is such an elusive pursuit here in South East Queensland - Australia and rarely happens when I have the time and opportunity to chase it. Finally, after such a long dry period, we are beginning to get some really good rain so the creeks are flowing, the waterfalls are more than a trickle and the rain forests are regenerating and vibrant. Your videos, tips and advice particularly on composition inspire me to become a better photographer. Bring on the next 250K.
I've learned so much by watching your videos. On a side note, if I want to relax and bring some peace into my day, watching one of your videos is the way to do it. The scenery, the music, the calm and detailed way you speak -- it just puts me in a really peaceful mind space. And it doesn't hurt when we get to see Pebbles. Thank you.

Nigel, you seemed surprised that 250k people have found inspiration and knowledge from your channel, I’m surprised it’s not more. Nigel, Thanks for the great videos over the years. I’ve been struggling with woodland photography for a few years. I’ve spent too long trying to find order in the random chaos and failed, instead of accepting the random chaos and looking for compositions within. Thanks to your videos, I’ve seen the light, so to speak and pardon the pun, and I am starting to get better compositions in the woods. Our trees have lost their fabulous colour and leaves and everything is winter-like. That should give me some interesting opportunities. The main thing missing from my woodland photography this year has been fog, but that should change. I like the advice of “observe more and shoot less”. Sometimes I go out and don’t come back with a photograph, but I no longer feel disappointed, but elated at having been out and had a chance to absorb the landscape. I have taken maybe 10 or 11 landscapes this year of which I’m really proud. There are plenty of others I have shot where I didn’t nail it, but continue to learn from the failures and cherish every opportunity to get out there.

You are so right about great shots appearing if you do not have the camera on you. Usually on my way to work, I get perfect light, wonderful fog or amazing sunrises. But I do not have my camera. As someone else said in the comment: Thank god for the camera in my phone.
I had not thought about upping the ISO and increasing the shutter speed in order to capture something moving. Thanks Nigel

Your videos have inspired me to improve my landscape photography. I'm no longer seeing it as a limitation that I almost always shoot in the same places, instead I'm trying to take advantage of seeing the landscape in different weather and seasons.
Woodland's composition is probably one of the hardest struggles. What is fun is that woodlands are quite common as a landscape, but composing it well, is very uncommon and rare!

Hello Nigel. I have used Nikon cameras for the last 50 years and I have now a Nikon Z7 that I have for landscaping, and suffices to say that your videos have been an inspiration and encouragement to continue wit my hobby in retirement.
I have learnt so much from your channel. The best thing is as I become a better photographer I am able to teach my young children photography. They are becoming better alright at the age of 7!

I am so inspired by your photography in the Lake District. Each image that you create on location alongside your LR post production has taught me a lot in understanding light and compositions. I am also highly motivated by the painterly effect you achieve in all of your pictures. I was in the Lake District last week, and I now capture images on Phone before taking out my DSLR - using it like a polaroid to refine compositions before assembling the tripod. What a great tip you have given me, and has helped me to see things so differently. Nigel, thank you for your channel, it has helped me tremendously in my landscape photography. Every video that you release is just amazing.
