    Your cinematography got so good that I find myself watching these videos just for the relaxing effect. I do understand you have to setup the camera for every shot, even the ones where you are in the distance, all by yourself. You are doing an amazing job. I send these videos to my friends and my girlfriend just so they could look at the beautiful scenery. Just wanted to let you know that it pays off. :)

    My vote is for a session on stacking for exposure and focus in LR. As well, sometimes landscape photography is like wildlife photography where we keep thinking we will find the animal "just over the next hill" rather than doing research, as you did, and hunkering down in one spot and waiting for things to develop. Thanks!

    I really like to see the post processing of the exposure / focus stacking on the shot of the tree/lake/mountain @ 9:22.
    Thanks for the honest video Nigel ! Not everyone will admit there mistakes, but that's where we also learn a lot. ;)

    I tried to wake up early a few times to catch the fog. Mist.

  • @KamauNwabudike
    @KamauNwabudike Před 3 lety +15

    What happened was completely understandable. The conditions were almost perfect for you, and you got excited. Your mind was focused on multiple amazing shots all at the same time, forgetting about how things can & will change from moment to moment. In other words, you got caught up in the moment.
    And to be honest, most of us would have done the same thing. But you still not only got some amazing shots, but you also were able to 'experience' them, and that's just as important. So don't be disappointed. Time has a way of sometimes repeating itself.
    BTW, that scene at about 7:44 (of the camera on the tripod out of focus in the foreground) for me is one of the shots I liked as well.
    Keep up the amazing work. We all appreciate it.

    I want to learn to photostsack. I also believe woodland is my biggest struggle. Unless there is a waterfall or foreground, I find woodland hard to find composition. Fog is always amazing. I love watching you grow man as a photographer. Your videos are so uplifting.

    Hello Nigel, I completely understand your thinking pattern and how you feel about it! When I'm out in the morning (or another moment) trying to catch something that I thought would be there, but isn't, I also feel the need to move on and try to get a "better" image somewhere else - even if I didn't go to that other place before, which means I might not even have a "better" image in the end.
    At those moments I try to remember your advice and try to adapt to the circumstances.
    Thank you, Nigel, for another great video!

    Love it around Derwentwater, especially when you get conditions like that! I was up in Keswick in August and after the majority of the week being rain we had one day that was glorious, the conditions more than made up for the rest of the weather!
    It’s hard to commit to one scene/location when things are that good though - it’s the photographers equivalent of a kid in a sweet shop! I remember that misty morning had me running around chasing the mist towards the end (keeps you fit!) 🤣
    I’d be interested in seeing how you focus stack, I’ve followed a few CZcams tutorials, and seen how others do it - but it’s always good to get a wider perspective.
