Nice review although unfair comparison. The beauty, customization, size and features of the new Kobo is unparalleled. I was stuck on Kindle eco-system and finally jumped ship when i realized Amazon wasn't releasing a new reader and was tired of 6". I can't believe I waited this long to make the switch I am simply blown away on the Kobo.

Great review! Thanks! I wanted to comment on your remark related to Kindle highlighting . Kindle software version 5.8.9.2 specifically addresses highlighting deficiencies in previous versions. I find the new version to be very easy, quick for highlighting. It is now very easy to change a highlight, edit it, delete it, or add a note. What software version for Kindle did you use for the review?

Nice video ! I think i might buy the h2o, but i was wondering if you think that they're going to get a better speed for reading mangas with a software updates like they did for the kindle, or if installing koreader or something similar would make it usable ? I'm mostly gonna read ebooks but would appreciate being able to read mangas in the future.

Kobo's hasn't bothered to improve PDF features in over 5 years so I doubt they'll improve manga support anytime soon either.

Am still using my old Kindle with it's physical keyboard because it has side buttons, which is the best feature on any e-reader, as far as I am concerned. Any e-reader that doesn't have thin buttons on the edges is just missing a trick.
Sure, make it waterproof if you want but I don't read in the rain. However, I do use buttons to turn pages and with touchscreens, the hassle of page turning is just a pain. I will stick with my 3g Kindle until it dies. At which point, buttons on the side will be my No 1 concern.

Would love to see the tolino 4 hd included in this comparison.
    Very comparable ereader I believe.

Unfortunately they have a very narrow market. Tolino ereaders aren't sold at all here in North America.

      I see. That's unfortunate.

Kindle seems a better choice but it does not support Adobe Digital Edition, forcing me turn to Kobo so that I can read the books purchased in Google Play

Afaik you can download the books from Google Play as an EPUB, convert it to the Kindle format and send it to your Kindle.

Comparing screen tones is irrelevant since it varies from unit to unit. I've exchanged newest kindle paperwhite five times and all of them had different backlight hues from blueish to really yellow. Even without light background color was slightly different from kinda yelliwish to greyish. Also noticed screen surface coating was rougher in 2 units and super smooth to touch in others. On top of that some units were better at dealing with ghosting. Unfortunetly there's no consistency in kindle production. Perhaps Amazon manufacture them in multiple factories. I see your kindle has different tone at the bottom right corner. It would annoy me especially at night time reading.

Does the Kobo has a language learning mode?
