I find the OS of kobo way more refined and modern. That will always be my go-to reader just for this reason alone.

styl-less koboing: Finger highlighting on the Clara BW 6'' screen is more accurate than my older kobo with 8'' screen, a very pleasant surprise; font size and line space setting doesn't seem to account for the difference.

Please consider testing light settings and dark mode also in a room without other light source.

Cameras don't focus well in dark rooms and it just looks like a grainy, blurry mess.

i know you mentioned the libra 2 is darker than the clara 2e and i realized it too when i tried them out and i got downvoted like crazy on kobo reddit for some reason. do you know why libra 2 is so much more popular even though the clara 2e’s screen is lighter therefore the contrast is better?

Actually the speed boost of kobo comes from new CPU from mediatek.

.... and I've read that the screen itself - carta 1300 - is faster than the carta 1200 (as on my older kobo), and it is.
